KSB/SJ turns problem world into a positive future for AXA

Two years ago, AXA Winterthur launched the Crash Recorder for young drivers with the slogan «Prove Your Innocence.» As part of a campaign by KSB/SJ, it is now being offered to all policyholders.

The Crash Recorder can be installed in your car free of charge and, in the event of an accident, provides you with precise data that allows you to objectively reconstruct the course of the accident. AXA Winterthur is now offering the Crash Recorder to all insured persons.
The campaign developed by KSB/SJ is based on the Redline concept used throughout Europe. This shows the transfer from a problem situation to a world with fewer difficulties. This transition is dramatized by stepping over the red switch and turning the "problem world" into a positive future.
The campaign will be on the market from the beginning of March. TV commercials, advertisements, banners, sponsorship billboards, a dedicated landing page, POS materials and CRM implementations will be used.

Exxtra: Seats with video surveillance

Since the end of February, the coffee brand Delizio has been drawing attention with its existing movie theater ad. To support this, Exxtra Kommunikation has developed a new campaign.

During the screening, high-quality Delizio coffee machines were raffled off in the movie theater. But not just like that - the chance to win was only available in a very special place. "Attention! This seat is under video surveillance". This warning was displayed on some of the seats and urged viewers to watch the advertisement first. The Delizio cinema commercial then revealed the solution: visitors in the video-monitored seats won a Delizio Compact Automatic coffee machine.
The coffee machine prize draw took place in Pathé cinemas from the end of February to the beginning of March. In addition, Delizio has been present at Pathé Dietlikon, Pathé Westside Bern, Pathé Küchlin Basel and Pathé Flon with a sampling and prize draw campaign since March 5.

Swiss advertising posters of the last hundred years

The Museum für Gestaltung Zürich invites visitors on an immersive journey through iconic Swiss advertising posters from the past hundred years. The exhibition «Paradise Switzerland» explores the myth of Switzerland.

The Matterhorn, the cow and the Swiss flag embody typical Swiss values such as naturalness, tradition and quality. Due to their effectiveness, these motifs are used as facets of Swissness in posters for tourism, chocolate or cheese, right through to politics. In this way, the motifs shape the image of Switzerland, but convey different, even contradictory messages depending on the context. The images appear timeless, but often show reality in a different light. The exhibition explores the myth of Switzerland through these classic Swiss subjects by bringing together around one hundred unmistakable advertising posters from the last hundred years to create a visual dialog.
The exhibition will take place at the Museum für Gestaltung from March 17 to July 25, 2010.

Tribune de Genève: No apology from editor-in-chief for Gaddafi police photos

Following the publication of police photos of Hannibal Gaddafi in the *Tribune de Genève* last September, the editor-in-chief of the Geneva daily refuses to apologize or reveal the name of his source.

The publication of the photos is one of the reasons for the ongoing crisis with Libya, writes Nachrichten.ch. According to Blick, experts even believe that Libyan hostage Max Göldi would be released as soon as the matter with the Geneva daily is off the table. In concrete terms, this would mean, for example, an apology for the pictures.
That the editor-in-chief of the paper, Pierre Rütschi does not want to apologize for it is because the publication was important, as he says. Rather, it seems to him that the pictures served as a pretext for an orchestrated strategy. Rütschi also recalled that all those involved in the matter had been humiliated. That was what they wanted to express. He regretted, however, if the publication of the pictures had delayed or complicated the whole matter.
Rütschli will also not disclose the name of the person who forwarded the photos to the newspaper. This would violate the protection of sources.

A world without the Internet has become unthinkable

As the European Interactive Advertising Association (EIAA) and Microsoft Advertising point out, internet usage continues to rise, and very few people can imagine life without the internet anymore.

Mobile access in particular is becoming increasingly important. In Switzerland alone, the web is used by 5.4 million users for an average of 11 hours and 15 minutes every seven days. However, advertisers have not yet fully adapted to this in relation to the overall market. Above all, experts recognize untapped growth potential here.
"Social media is growing and growing. For advertisers, however, it is still often unclear how they can become active in it. The shift in the advertising market from print to online media must and will nevertheless take place," says Arend Hendriks, Director of Microsoft Advertising Switzerland, in an interview with Pressetext. Advertisers will inevitably have to change their strategy. "Advertisers have to look for their target groups where they are," emphasizes Hendriks. This is the case on the Internet.
According to the expert, large advertising budgets continue to flow into the print sector, although its use and reach are declining. However, print media still accounts for just under half of the total advertising market. In contrast, online advertising in Switzerland accounts for a comparatively small slice of the advertising pie at five percent or a good CHF 358 million in the previous year, although usage is around three times higher than for print media. TV and posters are still ahead of the web with 28% and 11% respectively. They are followed by radio and cinema with four and one percent of the total market respectively.
The key lies in interaction
"In future, advertisers will have to find a good cross-media mix," Hendriks told Pressetext. The market is not shifting in a single direction - and this is not to be expected online either. However, interaction sets the tone on the Internet. The net is mainly used for e-mails. This is followed by search queries and social networks. The most important websites are news sites, ahead of banking and finance sites, travel providers and online auctions.
Users' willingness to pay for certain content is also growing. Although just under half of users do not want to spend any money on the web, 32% would pay for films, for example. Users would rather do without other media such as television or newspapers than the web. Only 14% could no longer imagine life without TV. By contrast, the majority - more than 50% - consider the Internet to be indispensable.
