Scholz: Animal noises from the Fressnapf store

You don't hear a human voice throughout the commercials, but you get to know the products and the store. Networking with other communication channels is also ensured. For example, the commercials form the basis for further campaigns on Fressnapf's Facebook fan page (Facebook.com/fressnapfschweiz).

PayTV pirates must pay Sky damages

Those convicted were selling tickets for the subscription television service, which was still operating under the name "Premiere" at the time. A court in Tongeren, Belgium, had already ruled in September that the sale was illegal, the European pay-TV industry association Aepoc announced on Monday. The hackers must now pay Sky a total of over two million euros in damages. Two of them will also have to go to prison, while the other two have received suspended sentences.
From 2006 to 2008, the group sold around 5700 smartcards for 75 euros each. In combination with software available on the Internet, the cards enabled illegal access to Premiere's offerings, in some cases for years. An appeal can be lodged against the verdict.

Last but not least: Gleichklang leaves nothing to be desired

Gleichklang.de is an online dating site that uses a sophisticated matching algorithm to determine which partners are the best fit for each other: interests, attitudes, personality traits—the whole package. But it’s not just inner qualities that matter. The site also offers matching based on physical preferences.

After all, tastes are different. That's why members on Gleichklang.de can specify what they themselves look like and what type of figure their dream partner should have: thin, slim, normal, a few extra pounds or round/thick. Superficial? The platform operators are reassuring: The information on figure is only a small part of the overall criteria taken into account. The sum of the individual pieces of information then makes it possible to suggest the "physically, mentally and emotionally suitable person". "Whether spindly or rubenesque", with Gleichklang you will always find the right person for a new love. That's nice! By the way: Gleichklang.de also has singles from Switzerland!

Clear Channel: Management supplemented

Under CEO Jürg Rötheli, outdoor advertising company Clear Channel Switzerland has expanded its executive team with two new positions. Gabriela Ferrari will now head Human Resources, and Satu Hilty will assume the newly created role of Marketing Director effective November 1.

The new Marketing Director Satu Hilty is also a member of the Executive Board. Hilty has a degree in business administration with a specialization in marketing. She has many years of marketing experience, which she most recently demonstrated at Lindt & Sprüngli and previously at Odlo sportswear and Unilever.
Gabriela Ferrari has taken over as Head of Human Resources as of October 1. She is also a business economist with many years of experience in areas of human resources management and has worked for Swisscom for the past ten years and previously for Jelmoli Holding.

Publicis: Celebrating the pleasures of the South for Buitoni

In the campaign, the agency focuses on the intense taste experience. A spot directed by this year's Cannes Lion Gold winner Jamie Rafn shows a vibrant small Italian town that falls completely silent three minutes after all the mothers have thrown the Pasta Fresca into the bubbling water in order to indulge in their favorite meal.

The TV campaign is accompanied by a print motif that also celebrates pasta enjoyment and announces a competition with prizes. The team led by CD Sacha Moser from Publicis Zurich is responsible for the TV and print campaign. The campaign can be seen throughout Switzerland from October 2010.

Myspace also shares user data with advertisers

Nach Facebook gerät auch Myspace wegen dem Umgang mit Benutzerdaten in die Kritik. Die Internetplattform hat Werbekunden Daten überlassen, mit denen diese einzelne Nutzerprofile identifizieren können.

However, this is not a problem, the company announced on Friday. After all, users are allowed to create profiles under pseudonyms. However, Myspace conceded that, in addition to the user ID, advertisers would also be informed of the last page a surfer was on before clicking on an advertising banner. The Wall Street Journal made this practice public on Friday. The newspaper also discovered that some additional programs (apps) for Myspace also share the user ID with third parties, contrary to the terms of use. Myspace allows software developers access to the user ID, but prohibits it from being passed on. The developer of such an app called "Tagme" was recently contacted for this reason. After the manufacturer responded to the criticism, the app was reactivated shortly afterwards, Myspace announced.

Pitch win: Prime communicates for Feller

The Prime agency won a pitch held by the French conglomerate Schneider Electric. The Zurich-based agency was commissioned to handle media relations for the Swiss subsidiary Feller.

The aim of the media work is to make the Group and the "Schneider Electric" brand better known to the general public. The company wants to position itself as a specialist for energy management issues and a broad range of services ("from the power station to the socket"). To this end, Prime has developed a wide-ranging catalog of measures to address the public and business media in Switzerland and continuously provide them with information about Schneider Electric. The measures take into account both print and online communication channels and also showcase the company's CEO, Roger Karner, as the "face" of the Swiss subsidiary.

ONZ Obwalden and Nidwalden newspaper off to a good start

The ONZ Obwalden and Nidwalden Zeitung, launched in April 2010, has gotten off to a good start. Over the past few months, the micro-newspaper has become the newspaper with the widest reach in the region, according to a media usage study by the market research institute GFK.

According to the GFK study, the micro-newspaper ONZ Obwalden und Nidwalden Zeitung, which was launched six months ago, has become the newspaper with the widest reach in the two original cantons with 40 percent. In second place with 38 percent is the Neue Obwaldner Zeitung of the Neue Luzerner Zeitung.

The online platform Onz.ch is also recording rising user numbers, with around 21350 users in September. In terms of reach, the portal ranks 17% behind the local information platform Zisch.ch, the online platform of the two Unterwalden headlines of the Neue Luzerner Zeitung.

Urs Gossweiler, member of the ONZ Board of Directors and CEO of licensor Gossweiler Media, is delighted with the results of the study. The market success of ONZ proves that the expansion of the micro-newspaper concept to other market areas is working. "This encourages us in our strategy of developing further licensed editions of the micro-newspaper in the near future," Gossweiler continues.

Jungfrau Zeitung: Slight decline in print, growth in online segment
The situation is different for the second micro-newspaper, the Jungfrau Zeitung published by Gossweiler Media: The print edition lost three percentage points of its reach and is in second place with 65 percent behind the Berner Oberländer, the Berner Zeitung's front page. The Amtsanzeiger Interlaken, which is delivered free of charge to all households, follows nine percentage points behind. In contrast, the newspaper made gains in the online segment. The multimedia platform Jungfrauzeitung.ch recorded a growth rate of 16 percent and, with a reach of 40 percent in the Jungfrau microcosm market area, leads the information offerings on the Internet. It is followed by Bernerzeitung.ch (35 percent, +18) and Blick.ch (28%, +13).
