Partner & Partners: Image campaign "Brainfood" for the Swiss Science Center Technorama

For the seventh year in a row, Partner & Partner has been promoting the Technorama—currently with a newly designed, playful branding campaign. This campaign is based on a large-scale visitor study conducted by the ZHAW on behalf of the Technorama.

The ZHAW study was commissioned with the aim of analyzing the motives and needs of visitors in order to better meet their expectations. The results show that, in addition to the cognitive challenge (being open and curious to discover something), the public also seeks affective entertainment (being allowed to play). Reward plays an essential role in both needs: having fun in life and the positive feeling of having used the time well should be carried home.

These two core messages were condensed by the agency in the creative process and resulted in the "Brainfood" campaign in image and text. The reward, in the form of sweets based on a scientific phenomenon, becomes the eye-catcher for the poster, which itself becomes a visual exhibit.

This has resulted in three subjects with a focus on enjoyment, always based on a natural phenomenon. "The breadth and depth of the exhibits on offer are the most important reason why, alongside the physical exploration of the scientific topic," explains Roy Schedler, Head of Marketing at Technorama, and continues: "Without direct experience, we don't understand what is important when it comes to skills such as conservation of angular momentum, buoyancy, magnetism, etc. After all, you don't learn to ride a bike from books. After all, you don't learn to ride a bike from books either. We wanted to illustrate in this campaign that the acquisition of experiential knowledge can be extremely enjoyable."

The first wave of this image campaign, consisting of three subjects, starts on March 14, 2016 and can be seen with posters F4/F12 and advertisements in D-CH as well as online.

Swisscom expands the Internet of Things

Switzerland is set to have a nearly nationwide network for the Internet of Things soon. Following initial tests, Swisscom plans to expand the Low Power Network (LPN) by the end of the year.

This is the basis for enabling machines and objects to communicate with each other. Swisscom plans to invest a single-digit million amount in the expansion by the end of the year. According to Swisscom, the network will cover around 80% of the population outdoors by the end of 2016. In ten cities, coverage is also possible indoors in some cases. In its press release on Monday, Swisscom cites examples of the Internet of Things such as letterboxes that send messages as soon as a parcel arrives or machines and devices that report failures at an early stage. Swisscom's pilot network was the first of its kind in Switzerland at the beginning of 2015. The industry leader tested the operation of prototypes with around 15 partners. Some projects are now running successfully - such as a Parking guidance system in Lenzburgwhich reports free parking spaces via an app. (SDA)

SEF 100 percent owned by the NZZ media group

The two founders of the Swiss Economic Forum (SEF), Stefan Linder and Peter Stähli, will sell their shares in July 2016 to the NZZ Media Group, which will thereby become the sole owner of the Swiss economic conference.

For five years, the NZZ Media Group has successively increased its company shares in the Swiss Economic Forum (SEF). In July 2016, it will take over the last block of shares from the two SEF founders Stefan Linder and Peter Stähli. Interforum Holding AG, to which the SEF belongs, will thus become fully owned by the NZZ media group. Stefan Linder and Peter Stähli will relinquish their mandates as delegates of the Board of Directors, but will remain committed to various growth projects. The two founders already handed over operational management to the then Head of Corporate Development and current CEO Dominik Isler in June 2015.

"Stefan Linder and Peter Stähli have developed the SEF into the most important Swiss business conference and built up other successful conference formats. I am pleased that they will remain associated with the NZZ family in various projects," said Veit V. Dengler, CEO NZZ Media Group, in a statement. "The new management team has established itself well, will continue to lead the company in the entrepreneurial spirit of its founders and will expand the conference business as an important pillar of the NZZ Media Group." The headquarters of Swiss Economic Forum AG will remain in Gwatt near Thun. The Swiss Economic Forum will continue to be held in Interlaken. The next SEF will take place from June 9 to 10, 2016.

NZZ establishes new marketing company Audienzz

NZZ Media Solutions, the advertising sales organization of the NZZ Media Group, establishes Audienzz, a new company for digital advertising sales.

It thus intends to further expand its market position in the premium segment with additional digital services. Audienzz is taking over the activities of NZZ Netz, which markets several news and business sites in addition to the digital offerings of the NZZ Media Group, according to a statement. In addition to its existing offering, audienzz will provide its clients with automated advertising bought through programmatic systems on domestic and foreign websites. The focus here is on the premium and B2B sectors.

Karin Carpentier, CEO of NZZ Media Solutions: "With independent digital marketing, we are choosing an organizational form that can react quickly to technical changes and is open to cooperations and participations." Audienzz's offering fills a gap in the market. "Demand for programmatic advertising delivery is growing rapidly. However, current offerings often lack trust, quality and transparency. This is exactly what we offer with Audienzz," says Remo Baumeler, CEO of Audienzz.

Since the acquisition of Adquality in 2014, the NZZ Media Group has had its own data management platform and is thus in a position to make efficient use of the scaling possibilities of programmatic advertising buying. audienzz has exclusive profile data from the premium and B2B segments, which the new marketing organization can use for its targeting offers. The operational launch of audienzz is planned for April 1, 2016.

News from the «The World Has Been Waiting for This» section: Song Wig is a type of wig that enables collective music enjoyment. From Japan.

In Japan, people are usually a good step ahead of the rest of the world when it comes to "next-step-out-of-the-box-thinking." Or in other words, being off-the-wall in a way that makes people in the West shake their heads in disbelief but fascination.

With the "Song Wig," the Tokyo- and New York-based creative agency brings Party the shared music experience to the next level. The wig collection, consisting of earphones, was presented last year at an exhibition organized by the agency group "Friendly Futures" shown in Brooklyn as a prototype. The team then further developed and perfected the product. And is currently presenting it at the digital trade fair SXSW in Austin, Texas.

The Song Wig is supposed to be the latest social craze. And it probably really will be. Provided the ears are clean. The earphone overdose comes'in three varieties: Pop, Reggae and Classical. And is suitable as party fun, fashion statement and for DJs or musicians. Um, yeah. There are some things you don't really know what to make of. Maybe you do. But well, have we talked about it. Swiss Digital Transformation Award 2016: Shortlist

Which company has made the greatest digital-related progress in recent months? The "Swiss Digital Transformation Award" will be presented for the second time this year.

The challenges of digitization are relevant to all companies, organizations and industries, and are often enormous. It is also becoming increasingly clear that the process of change is ongoing and accelerating, and that it has a profound and disruptive dimension.

The "Swiss Digital Transformation Award" will be presented for the second time on April 7 - as part of the "Best of Swiss Web" award night - to those companies that have made particular progress in digital maturity in recent months. The basis for determining the winners is, on the one hand, the self-declaration of the participating companies in the "Digital Maturity Check", the maturity model developed by the University of St. Gallen and a group of experts; on the other hand, the multi-stage in-depth analysis of a jury of experts.

The study and the award not only honor the best, but the results are also intended to sensitize companies and decision-makers to the fact that digital transformation is only the beginning and that a constant, intensive change process must be established in every company. In addition, the major changes in society and the economy are not only driven by information technologies. In addition to the advent of the Internet, mobile networks, and smart devices and valuable mountains of data, advances in other technological areas are just as important and comprehensive.

However, precisely because IT is increasingly being used in diverse combinations with processes, products and other technologies - for example in the healthcare sector or the automotive industry - the importance of digitization is becoming even more apparent. In order to get to the bottom of these complex interrelationships even more, the catalog of questions in the "Digital Maturity Model" was expanded for this year's survey by the University of St. Gallen and a group of experts: In a total of nine dimensions, such as "Strategy" or "Process Digitization" as well as "ICT Development and Operation" or "Customer Experience," the participating companies answer around 90 questions in detail. The weighting, analysis and evaluation of the answers ultimately leads to a comprehensive picture of the individual digital maturity of a company and also allows a comparison with best practice.

The result over the years is not just a representation of the current state of digital transformation in individual companies and industries, but an overview of the disruptive, far-reaching dimensions and challenges, i.e., a kind of "constant disruption.

Joiz develops Shaqiri app

In collaboration with Swiss soccer star Xherdan Shaqiri, the digital media company is launching a custom-developed interactive Shaqiri app. It is the first app created by a Swiss soccer player.

Shaqiri is shown in full action - in training with his club Stoke City, in action in the Premier League or with the Swiss national team. But Shaqiri also shows himself in private. In a video, he shows off his new apartment in Stoke-on-Trent. Fans are given a direct channel to Shaqiri. They can ask him questions and post their opinions. The online chat runs around the clock. On a regular basis, Shaqiri goes live. In live-streamed sessions, he can be seen in full action, whether on the ball or making a statement. In addition to communicating with fans, Shaqiri also gets novel marketing opportunities. He holds competitions, involves his sponsors and thus gains an additional marketing channel.

Xherdan Shaqiri says: "This app is great fun for me. I'm in direct contact with my fans and can talk to them or chat with them. For me, the app is a very good way to communicate with the public quickly and comprehensively."

Joiz CEO Alexander Mazzara explains, "The Shaqiri app shows how celebrities can not only increase their reach with new interactive media channels, but also shape their profile with the way they show themselves and what they talk about." Heineken tested a soccer fan's loyalty to his friends in Italy. He passed the test, sort of.

Champions League sponsor Heineken is once again celebrating the cult of "guys' night in" around beer and football. And is using the tradition of Simone and his best friends sharing the sofa for A.S. Roma matches for a viral stunt called "The Dilemma". Simone is given the chance to enjoy the Champions League match between A.S. Roma and Real Madrid live in a VIP seat - but alone, behind the backs of his best friends. For the four young men, the football evenings are more than just football - it is also one of the rare opportunities to see each other and cultivate their friendship.

A beautiful story. More or less. One wonders why Simone didn't simply tell his friends about his opportunity. Publicis Italy itself doesn't believe that good friends would begrudge each other the live experience. Nevertheless, the events seem surprisingly authentic and Simone's behavior genuine. Often enough in comparable campaigns, one imagines oneself in feature films scripted from A-Z. Simone really does exist, by the way, as his Facebook profile shows. Apparently he is not an actor, but a DJ ("Simone LP"). (hae)

Advertising alliance: Publishers file complaint

The Swiss Media Association and Tamedia will file a complaint next week with the Federal Administrative Court against the planned advertising alliance between Ringier, Swisscom, and SRG.

This is reported in the current issue of Schweiz am Sonntag. Accordingly, the publishers demand that the Decree of the Uvek from the end of February "The association also wants to ensure that third-party media companies receive the same conditions as the partners in the alliance. The association also wants to ensure that third-party media companies receive the services of the marketing company on the same terms as the alliance partners. In addition, full access to the files is demanded. The Publishers Association and Tamedia piquantly took the position that their complaint had a suspensive effect, writes the newspaper. They accused the Uvek of Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard of a "certain bias". According to the statement of claim, it is assumed that SRG "may not participate in the joint venture and may not enter the market before the present proceedings have become final." It is threatened with an "application for a provisional enforcement ban" should SRG "seek to take concrete actions that run counter to the suspensive effect of the contested injunctions". Switzerland am Sonntag assumes that - until courts have made a decision - the implementation of the joint venture could be delayed by at least a year. (Switzerland on Sunday/hae)
