Last but not least: small talk with the phone

If you own the new iPhone 4S, you can talk to it. A video from Apple shows how it works.

The device can be a help in many everyday situations - for example, it can advise you if you are unsure whether you should take an umbrella with you. Or it can tell your wife that you'll be home a little late. A great thing. And if you're lonely, there's no need to be sad in future - the iPhone is happy to keep you company and always has a sympathetic ear and good advice in store.

Shnit enters the 9th round

On Wednesday, when it's "shnit happens" again, the city of Bern will fall victim to short film fever and be enchanted by over 300 stories from all over the world.

The Shnit International Short Film Festival kicks off with the Opening Night at the Kornhausforum. With a speech by Mayor Alexander Tschäppät, the international short film festival shnit 2011 enters its ninth round. At the official festival opening, Shnit will present a multifaceted cross-section of this year's program highlights.

At the same time, the Slam Movie Night takes place in the auditorium on the second floor of the Progr. A hot film competition in which it's filmmaker vs. audience. If the audience doesn't like the movie, they throw it out of the race with loud boos. Rap master Dodo, the incorruptible referee, ensures fair play.

The Shnit shop window in the Loeb on Spitalgasse also has a lot to offer. In an interactive installation, similar to an iPad, visitors can browse through a selection of film excerpts and find out more about Shnit and the short film festival program.

Voting for the Valiant Youth Film Award has also opened online. Children and young people up to the age of 19 have submitted their film productions and are vying for first place. Until Thursday, 24:00, you can vote on the website Youth Film Award.ch favorites can be selected
