Evoq: "The other day with the Bobo family".

Evoq has launched a campaign for the Shoppi Tivoli shopping center. The main medium is a series of TV commercials in which Birgit Steinegger plays the mother of Shoppi Tivoli brand ambassador DJ Bobo.

The characters were created by Frank Simonin from the Shoppi Tivoli management together with Steinegger in-house author Markus Köbeli. In the commercials, Mother Bobo stands helplessly in front of the wardrobe or kitchen cupboard and "Böbeli" knows the advice that will make her happy for a successful Christmas: "You'll find it all at the Shoppi Tivoli!

The spots will run in a first flight from November to January on various local TV stations in the Shoppi Tivoli catchment area. Author Markus Köbeli directed the spots himself. The spots were produced by the Baden-based production company Visual Productions.

Mirjam Kluka is responsible for the photos - they were taken somewhere in the catacombs of the Letzigrund.

Cicero cover on the first place

In its latest issue, the German magazine for communication and media, *New Business*, evaluated, compared, and ranked the cover images of Germany’s largest magazines and periodicals. *Cicero* took first place.

A jury of experts paid particular attention to an appealing graphic design, the visual implementation of journalistic content, color, harmony and choice of typeface. The clear winner for the month of October was the political magazine Cicero from Ringier. "A very big da capo for the cover design of Cicero," enthused juror Eberhard Wolf. "The editorial team manages to deliver high quality over a long period of time with the help of excellent illustrators. If there is currently a standard for illustrative quality, then this trophy clearly belongs to the makers of Cicero - and to all of them."

Der Spiegel (2nd), Audiophil (3rd), Impulse (4th) and Merian (5th) made it to the other ranks.

Australia: Cigarettes now only in single-color packs

In Australia, starting in December 2012, cigarettes may only be sold in plain olive-green packaging. Tobacco companies are up in arms over the law—the first of its kind in the world—which took effect on Monday.

With the new regulation, the last remaining advertising options for cigarettes have been abolished. On the new cigarette packs, the brand name will only appear in small print, with photos and warnings about the dangers of smoking prominently displayed. Cigarette manufacturers have announced that they will take legal action. The measure violates international trademark rights and regulations on intellectual property, they said. However, the Australian government was optimistic that it would emerge victorious from these disputes.

Australia has long played a pioneering role in the fight against smoking. The proportion of smokers in the Australian population is one of the lowest in the world due to high taxes and advertising and sales restrictions. Only around 16 percent of Australians and 14 percent of Australian women smoke regularly. In 1983, 40 percent of men and 32 percent of women smoked in Australia. According to official figures, around 15,000 Australians die every year as a result of tobacco consumption. (SDA)
