Mobile marketer Adello with new CEO

In early January, Sandor Laczko took over as CEO of Adello. To meet the demands of the rapidly growing mobile advertising market in 2012, the team is now being significantly expanded. At the same time, Adello has moved into larger offices in Zurich’s Seefeld district.

As Head of Sales at Cinergy, Sandor Laczko has been responsible for expanding the marketing of Cineman and Teleboy for the past four years. The move to Adello is based on the awareness that the music will be played in the mobile sector in the coming years. The trend towards mobile and ever more creative forms of advertising has intensified in recent months, but still has a pioneering status in Switzerland.

"What has happened so far in Switzerland in terms of mobile advertising could be described as a beta test," says Laczko. "We believe that sales in Switzerland will more than double this year." The good results so far show that mobile advertising is already a very reliable form of advertising, especially in terms of cost efficiency. Both high reach and selective targeting are possible. The possibilities will expand exponentially with new forms of advertising and technologies. The specialist Adello wants to make this new world more accessible to advertisers.

The Sales and Operations team will be strengthened with the addition of business economist Aaron Salzgeber. The Board of Directors is also being restructured. Tobias Asch is likely to be known to many in the digital environment; the lawyer and online pioneer has many years of experience in the online and mobile sector as co-founder of Cinergy and Bureau G9. Software engineer Rudy Pfister, who offers high-availability solutions with Visiontec, will contribute his IT expertise as a board member and CTO. Adello founder Mark Forster will drive forward business development as President of the Board of Directors.

Last but not least: Pirates oversleep protest

In the U.S., Google, Wikipedia, and others are protesting the two controversial anti-piracy bills, «SOPA» and «PIPA»; in Germany, the Pirate Party, among others, has joined the protest. Too bad they missed their own chance to protest.

Google is censoring its logo in the USA with a black bar, Wikipedia is going offline completely and the WordPress site is also black. They are all rising up against the planned anti-piracy laws Stop Online Piracy Act (Sopa) in the House of Representatives and the Protect IP Act (Pipa) in the Senate. In Germany, the Pirate Party, among others, has joined the protest. It announced on its website: "The Pirate Party Germany is taking its website offline for 24 hours on Wednesday, January 18". But the site worked all morning, as Sueddeutsche.de reported with a Screenshot proves it. And, as is the way these days, the glitch spread like lightning on Twitter & Co. - and of course the party was not spared malicious comments. "Well, if I close my eyes really tightly, the # Pirates website is also black," was one example. Or "The Pirate Party admins don't get up until 12". Around half past eleven, the time had come: the Pirate Party website also went black - "Admin woke up and site fell asleep", was the message on Twitter. All's well that ends well - better late than never to protest.

Museum of Communication looks back on a successful 2011

Just under 61,000 people visited the Bern Museum of Communication last year. That figure is slightly lower than the previous year’s, but higher than the long-term average, the museum’s operators explained on Tuesday at the annual media briefing.

The temporary exhibitions on cell phones and the dangers of communication have met with great interest, as have the three permanent exhibitions. The exhibition "Warning: Communicating at risk", which deals with the flood of communication, can be seen until mid-July.

From the fall, the museum will be offering "Insight into the Thorberg myth". The chamber exhibition about everyday life in the Thorberg prison will be shown alongside the release of a documentary film by Dieter Fahrer. The exhibition installation is intended to give an idea of the isolation in the cell, where a TV becomes a window on the world.

Together with the Natural History Museum, the museum is also working on the temporary exhibition "Am I beautiful?", which will be on display from next November. Humans, animals and the environment are to be staged under the aspect of the eternal theme of "beauty".

Museum officials also announced that construction work on the renovation of the depot in Schwarzenburg will begin this spring. As is well known, the museum maintains a depot for storing cultural assets on the premises of the former shortwave transmitter.

According to the museum, structural defects make the renovation necessary. This will cost 3.6 million francs and is scheduled to last until the end of 2014. The old outdoor hall will be replaced first, then the depot rooms in the former shortwave transmitter will be renovated. (SDA)
