NZZ Folio at Swiss Television

The current NZZ folio on the subject of "On Swiss Television" was published on Monday. 15 journalists have researched the Leutschenbach and show in the booklet what happens during 24 hours at SF.

What do Swiss households get for their 293 francs in television fees, asks editor Barbara Klingbacher in the editorial. What kind of programs should be shown? The current issue of the Folio reveals, among other things, what Catholic bishops don't like to see on television, which viewers distort the statistics, how many millions of francs Swiss television earns thanks to advertising and sponsoring, and how much money can be made with telephone participation campaigns.

The stories in the booklet follow the program structure of Swiss television, from daytime to late evening and nighttime programming. The programs are presented in chronological order, whereby the authors do not limit themselves to a single day of the week, but show various programs from the weekly schedule. The journalists - among them NZZ media editor Rainer Stadler - spent more than two months doing research in the television studio.

The articles are available on Nzzfolio.ch available. At Facebook also shows a time-lapse video of how Studio 1 gradually becomes the backdrop for the "Benissimo" show.

The PR Factory: "Stop Skimming" campaign realized

The PR Factory realized the national prevention campaign "Stop Skimming" for the police to protect against card misuse. The campaign is supported by the Swiss Bankers Association and Swiss Crime Prevention.

The "Stop Skimming" campaign starts today, Monday. The campaign focuses on five simple rules of conduct designed to encourage people to rethink the way they use their own account, credit or debit card. These will be displayed nationally on posters and at many ATMs. The police are also providing information with flyers and their own Website on the topic. "Stop Skimming" also has a Facebook page where the latest information on skimming can be shared.

The fact that skimming is theft and that the perpetrators are very clever at spying on their victims' data is made clear in the campaign logo. This shows a thief in a convict or magnetic strip suit, who is almost completely hidden in the overall appearance and only just peeks out with his eyes.

Extra: Launched the ice Audi

The cold spell brought fame to cars on Lake Geneva: they were covered in a thick layer of ice, and many media outlets reported on it. One frozen Audi, in particular, was in the spotlight.

Was it possible to start the engine? Exxtra now provides the answer with an online spot. Previously unpublished footage shows that the Audi engine started without any problems - despite a centimeter-thick layer of ice and temperatures of around -14 °C. Audi's brand message "Vorsprung durch Technik" provides the proof.

Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are the most valuable social media brands

In a global study, the brand valuation firm BV4, in collaboration with the Social Media Management Center at HWZ Zurich University of Applied Sciences, compiled the first ranking of the most valuable social media brands.

In line with expectations, the globally renowned social media brands Facebook, YouTube and Twitter lead the rankings, according to a press release. The most valuable brands are dominated by social networks from the USA, which account for the lion's share with a total brand value of USD 82 billion. Unsurprisingly, there are also three social networks from China in the top ten: after Qzone in fourth place, Sina Weibo appears in fifth place and Tencent Weibo in eighth place. These rankings are mainly due to the disproportionately high growth in Internet user numbers in China. The two Facebook copies VKontakte from Russia and Renren from China in eleventh and twelfth place are certainly also among the "exotics", having achieved these ranks thanks to strong user statistics.

The valuation method applied

The competencies of the HWZ and BV4 ideally complemented each other in the development of the evaluation method, as the report continues. Based on the scientific expertise of the HWZ, the research design of the study was developed in a first step. The brand valuation specialists at BV4 then determined the data basis and carried out the monetary calculations. In this approach, the brand value corresponds to the revenue of a social network that can be generated today and in the future solely on the basis of the brand. The brand value depends on the one hand on the revenue of a social network, but on the other hand also on its brand strength. The stronger the brand, the more this revenue is driven by the brand. Key value drivers that were examined for the respective brands include the level of awareness and distribution as well as loyalty (including average visit time per user).

TBWA\: Spots created for Gebana with Mörgeli, Shiva & Ackermann

To raise awareness of Gebana's work and its new online store, TBWA\ was commissioned to create guerrilla measures.

Since Gebana sells its products in bulk for ecological reasons, the idea arose to turn the overconsumption of the Western world into something positive, the agency said in a statement. Overconsumption is to be advocated when it involves products from Gebana ("fair banana"). The more we consume, the better off the small farmers and their families who grow the products.

The commercials are intended to show that such increased consumption also has other benefits, such as less talking. With this in mind, annoying chatterboxes Mike Shiva, Christoph Mörgeli and Josef Ackermann had their mouths stuffed with Gebana products.

Last but not least: Pornoking is looking for scandalous politicians

U.S. porn publisher Larry Flynt has offered a reward of up to one million dollars for information regarding politicians' involvement in sex or corruption scandals. He placed a full-page ad in the Washington Post to that effect.

In the ad, the porn king asked for information on "infidelities, sex offenses or corruption scandals" involving senators, members of parliament or senior members of government. According to 20min.ch, he tries to get hold of scandalous stories with questions such as "Did you have a gay or heterosexual affair with Governor Rick Perrx?". And anyone who thinks he's talking about sex is completely wrong: in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, he said he was only concerned with the hypocrisy of politicians. "Politicians have one thing in common: they all have huge egos and these egos are fed by their sexual conquests," he said. And that's exactly what gets them into trouble.

After checking the information, Flynt wants to pay up to one million dollars if the story is published. If the complaint is to be believed, the information will be treated confidentially.
