Scholz & Friends: Finally, television does what you want it to do

With its new offering, Sunrise TV, Sunrise Communications aims to bring the future of television into Swiss living rooms. Scholz & Friends Zurich developed a coordinated launch campaign for the new digital television service.

The campaign presents the new possibilities of television in three TV spots, sponsoring spots for SF Meteo, on posters, in advertisements and at POS. In combination, the communication focuses on the outstanding functions of Sunrise TV, which create a completely new television experience for users, the agency said in a statement on Friday. The ComeBack TV function, which allows users to watch the program of the last 28 hours on 40 channels later, is particularly unique. Other topics addressed in the communication include the Live Pause function and a large HD selection from Sunrise TV.

The TV commercials have been running on the widest-reach stations in Switzerland since the end of February 2012. The motifs can be seen throughout Switzerland in the daily press and in magazines. The national poster campaign was supplemented by special regional placements such as premium branding at Zurich's main train station, megaposters, and various other special placements.

Media Sales turnover fell by 13 percent to CHF 1.026 billion.

Swiss Poster Award 2011 goes to "Cemented Relationship

The Fleurop campaign "Cemented Relationship" has won the Swiss Poster Award 2011. The main character of this poster is a bunch of sunflowers stuck in a patched-up vase.

According to the jury, "Gekittete Beziehung" skillfully illustrates that flowers are also given as a gift to reconcile and not just out of pure (neighborly) love. It judged the winning motif to be "charming and clever". The award-winning poster was created by the Zurich agency Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett.

The special prize in the Poster Innovations category also went to the creative minds of Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett with the subject "WOZ die Wochenzeitung - Konvention Auto/Velo". Gold also went to Mercedes-Benz Switzerland in the "National Commercial" category, Hiltl in the "Regional Commercial" category, Suva Unfallversicherung in the "Public Service" category and the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich in the "Culture" category.

The jury awarded a total of 14 prizes at the APG|SGA Poster Night on March 8, 2012 in Zurich at Komplex 457.

Scatter plan: Mattress finder "for ä tüüfä gsundä Schlaaf" developed

We spend a third of our lives sleeping. Since the wide variety of products can be quite confusing, the BTL agency Streuplan, in collaboration with Bico, designed and developed the Mattress Finder.

The Mattress Finder is an online tool which, after answering 13 questions, determines an individual sleep profile tailored to personal needs and presents it in the form of a text/graphic evaluation. This sleep profile then results in suitable product recommendations and tips on what to pay particular attention to when buying.
The mattress finder can also be used to find the nearest retailer who has the recommended products for you to try out. The specialist advisor there will then personally discuss your individual sleep profile. The Bico Mattress Finder also works on a smartphone or tablet.

Communication takes place via an online campaign, various retailer measures and mailings. Streuplan was also responsible for the logo development and campaign.

Maybaum Film: McLaren SLR Tuning Film

What do you do if you want to make a commercial for a luxury car but don't have a contract for it? You simply find the car yourself and produce the commercial on your own.

At least that's what Maybaum Film did. In collaboration with a private tuner and patron, the perhaps first high-end, low-budget tuning film in Switzerland was shot over the course of just under 3 days. For once, the focus was not on the actors, but on a matt black McLaren SLR in a strictly limited edition.

With the support of model and singer Sabrina Bühlmann (alias Tyla Durden), actors Bruno Kocher and Daniel Mezger as well as a motivated crew, high-tech equipment and a lot of passion, the entertaining spot was created. High-speed shots with RED Epic, aerial shots with a flying drone and wild chases with a camera truck on the airport grounds in Interlaken were among the highlights of the filming.

About the film

Film buffs will not only enjoy the finished result, but also the Making-of interest.

E-books: Apple threatened with legal action for price fixing

Why are e-books in the U.S. sometimes more expensive than their print counterparts? The U.S. Department of Justice is also asking this question. Suspecting price-fixing, it has been investigating the e-book market for several months.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple with its iPad reading device and five major publishers could now be sued. The US Department of Justice is preparing lawsuits, the newspaper reported in its Thursday edition, citing insiders. In parallel, settlement negotiations are underway to avoid lengthy and costly court proceedings.

The US competition authorities are targeting the publishers Macmillian, Simon & Schuster (part of CBS), Hachette, Penguin (Pearson) and HarperCollins (News Corp.). The companies themselves did not wish to comment to the newspaper.

The EU Commission has also been officially investigating the same group of publishers and Apple since December. Here, too, there is a suspicion of cartel formation. If the allegations are substantiated, the companies in Europe could face heavy fines. The bone of contention is the fixed prices that Apple is said to have agreed with the publishers. (SDA/DPA)
