Last but not least: Finally advertising without naked skin

Today's advertising subjects generally show a lot of naked skin. Too much, at least for Astra. The German beer brand therefore advertises without any naked skin at all. Quite decently. Or not.

"Finally, advertising without naked skin," is the slogan. But instead of a model wrapped in fabric, as you might expect, tattoo model Lexy Hell is lolling underneath. Without any clothes at all. But somehow she is not really naked. Naked or not naked, decent or not decent, that is the question here. For tattoo lovers, however, certainly a feast for the eyes. And even the looks of those who do not know much about body painting, should briefly stick to the subject - goal achieved, Astra.

By the way, the Hamburg advertising agency Philipp und Keuntje is responsible for the campaign.

Press Council: Complaint against 20 Minuten Online partially approved

Following the arrest of the Libyan leader on October 20, 2011, online news sites and print media—including 20 Minuten and 20 Minuten Online—published exceptionally graphic images of the seriously injured, and later deceased, Muammar al-Gaddafi.

The print edition of the free paper printed two of the photos in relatively small format, but online there were always new pictures, some of them greatly enlarged, and later also various videos of Gaddafi's mistreatment. Two readers complained to the Press Council that the photos of the "brutal execution of a defenceless person at the time of death" were inhumane - "regardless of what one wants to think of Gaddafi as a human being or as a politician". 20 Minuten and 20 Minuten Online argued that the pictures were historical documents that recorded "the definitive end of Gaddafi's regime of power"; the public interest in publication outweighed the right to rest in peace of the dead.

The Press Council states in this regard: A historical event does not become more historical by being shown from different angles and brought close to the viewer by means of zoom technology. Disproportionate, sensationalistic reporting merely serves the public curiosity of the audience, which is not to be equated with public interest. The photo and video offering about the mistreatment and death of Muammar al-Gaddafi on 20 Minuten Online therefore violated human dignity. 20 Minuten, on the other hand, did not violate the "Declaration of the Duties and Rights of Journalists" with its visually much more restrained reports on the death of Gaddafi.

"Petarden-Trottel": Press Council criticizes Blick and Blick.ch

The Press Council has partially approved a complaint against Blick and Blick.ch. Last November, Blick.ch had published a series of articles under the title "Petarden-Trottel" about a football fan who had a petard explode in his hand.

In the process, the 25-year-old had three fingers torn off. The accident occurred before the Euro League match between FCZ and Lazio Roma. According to the Press Council, the reports in Blick and on Blick.ch were peppered with details from the private and professional life of the victim.

This portrayal had made it possible to identify the person in question. Blick and Blick.ch had thus pilloried the young man, the press council wrote in its decision published Tuesday. "In doing so, the Blick editors merely served public curiosity, which must not be confused with the public interest in reporting." In the opinion of the Press Council, the manner of the research in the environment of the person concerned was also disproportionate.

The complainant had also criticized the term "Petarden-Trottel" as inhumane. On this point, the Press Council rejects the complaint. Although the term was harsh for the person concerned, it was within the broadly defined scope of freedom of comment.

Weber Harbeke Partners: A carrier bag celebrates its anniversary

It is very rare for a promotional item to be used for more than a year or two. Migros’ non-food shopping bags have been in use without any changes since 2002.

The positive image of Migros in the food sector was to be transferred to the (then still) less high-profile non-food sector, as the agency writes in a statement. For this purpose, the non-food items were presented like food. At first glance, one sees scampi, glacé, roulade or salad, but at second glance, one discovers a dowel, a tennis ball, terry cloths and a green T-shirt. With this image idea, the bags can be used from Basel to Lugano and from Geneva to Romanshorn without changing the language.
