TBS Identity: Theater as a journey to existence

For the first time, the Lucerne Theater is basing its 12/13 season on a theme: “Odyssey 12/13.” This primordial European myth is intended to shed light on theatrical creation in Lucerne as an adventurous journey—as artistic voyages into the unknown, whose ultimate destination is one’s own identity.

TBS Identity has staged the motto in the program booklet: Each play is accompanied by a short quotation from the great epic. Thanks to this typographical reduction, the power of the playbill lies entirely in the language. This is also true of the play posters, which, as pure typographic posters, deliberately set themselves apart from the colorful poster hustle and bustle of the modern age.

Responsible at the Lucerne Theater: Dominique Mentha (Director), Martin Windolph (Head of Communications). Responsible at TBS Identity: Michael Schädelin (concept), Daniel Leber (CD), Nadia Ermert (polygraphy), Marlen Gassler (project management).

Relaunch for Züritipp Online

The digital edition of Züritipp will undergo a minor redesign on June 1, 2012, and will be expanded to include the city blog.

In terms of content, the blog covers current city stories, socio-political and cultural topics, as detailed in a press release on Thursday. Züritipp online editor David Sarasin and the newly recruited Reda El Arbi, satirist, blogger and former Zurich editor in the Blick newsroom, are responsible for the editorial content.

"We keep a keen eye on the topics that move the people of Zurich," says David Sarasin about the stories planned for the blog. El Arbi adds: "The city blog remains very close to the reader, both in terms of language and topics. As bloggers, we are allowed to convey opinions, moods and subjective experiences. However, readers add value through their own participation in the discussions in the comment columns."

Proven content will be retained in the new design: The well-founded journalistic print articles on cultural events in Zurich are still shown online and supplemented by the digital agenda in a user-friendly way.

Dietschi and AZ Medien Plan to Strengthen Their Collaboration

Dietschi Druck und Medien Olten, publisher of the Oltner Tagblatt, and AZ Medien intend to strengthen their collaboration in the future, which until now has been limited to their partnership within the Mittelland Zeitung newspaper group.

In order to consolidate its independence in the long term and to be able to make upcoming investments in its print and online businesses, Dietschi will propose to its shareholders at the Annual General Meeting on June 19, 2012, increase AZ Medien’s stake from the current 11.67 percent to 33 percent through a share capital increase. The Oltan-based company aims to secure the independence of Dietschi’s flagship publication—the Oltner Tagblatt, which is firmly established with 40,000 readers—through long-term integration into the Mittelland Zeitung newspaper network (AZ combined circulation).

With AZ Medien AG’s stake increasing to 33 percent, a proposal will be made to Dietschi’s Annual General Meeting to elect Peter Wanner, publisher and Chairman of the Board of Directors of AZ Medien, to Dietschi’s Board of Directors.

Last but not least: The shattered dream

A dream comes true—or so the man in the suit thinks to himself when the brunette beauty in the house across the street waves at him and, with what he takes to be unambiguous gestures, invites him to come over to her.

But the gestures weren't quite as clear-cut as he and a horde of other men were to discover, much to their disappointment, a little later on—the dream is shattered before it has even really begun.

Poor guys. And stupid brunettes—some women, whether brunette, blonde, or black-haired, would let at least one of the guys into their apartment with a kiss on the hand. But if pizza is more important…
