Migrolino: "Slow Down" product line

As part of its CSR partnership with the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention, Migrolino launches a product line dedicated to leisurely driving.

Migrolino is a strategic partner for the "Slow Down. Take it easy." prevention campaign, according to a statement. This campaign became known throughout Switzerland primarily through the TV commercials featuring the bearded guardian angel "Franky Slow Down," the hit parade song, and the "Slow Down" logo, which can now often be seen as a sticker on vehicles.

In order to bring the message of driving at an adapted speed even closer to the target group, a small range of "Slow Down" products has recently become available in the Migrolino store, which is intended to give young drivers in particular, as well as motorcyclists, the necessary coolness to be relaxed and concentrated on the road.

All products contain ingredients (e.g. alpine herbs, cocoa), are supposed to have a positive effect on the physical or mental state of the person, the message says. The product names (in English) refer to properties or effects of the product: e.g. "Calm Down Herbal Ice Tea". The packaging design prominently features the campaign's familiar logo. The color scheme uses a calming sky blue, matching the guardian angel Franky. The following items are now available exclusively in most Migrolino stores: Calm Down Herbal Ice Tea, Wake Up Energy Drink, Easy Chill Chicken Curry Chips, Perfect Recharge Dried Nuts & Fruits, Sweet Cruising Choco-Caramel Wafer, Slow Down Bubbly Milk Chocolate, Relaxing Wild Berry Pastilles, Anti-Stress Lemon Candy and Refreshing Spearmint Chewing Gum.

Saatchi & Saatchi commemorates World Food Day

To mark World Food Day on October 16, 2012, Saatchi & Saatchi developed a campaign for UNICEF Switzerland. Instead of images of suffering or accusatory headlines, the agency created a surprising key visual.

The subject shows a fork, which becomes a requesting hand via a small manipulation, as it says in a statement. With each bite of the fork, the viewer is made aware that he is able to do something against the suffering of hunger.

Unicef, the United Nations Children's Fund, provides humanitarian aid, for example for the 1.3 million refugee children in the region of Syria. As a non-profit organization that is financed exclusively by voluntary donations, Unicef is dependent on financial support.

The campaign appears as a poster, print, e-screen and online. In addition to bank transfers, SMS is used as a donation channel. The cooperation with the restaurant courier Mosi's also takes a new approach to fundraising. During the campaign period, everyone can support the campaign with five francs by ordering a Unicef children's plate.

Scholz & Friends: New FCB match posters

The agency Scholz & Friends Switzerland won a competitive pitch for the budget of the reigning Swiss champion and is creating the match posters for the current season.

For the announcement of each home match, a new motif is published that Basel fans can use to
the next opponent. The reduced graphic design in the club's identity-forming colors, combined with the changing backgrounds, make each announcement poster a unique item with a collector's character, the agency says in a statement. The competitive appeal to the target audience through the large headlines has remained the same. With the wink typical for the FCB sometimes on regional characteristics and sometimes on the history of the next opponent one deals, so the report further. In doing so, Scholz & Friends, together with the FC Basel club management, makes sure that the statements always remain sympathetically fair and within the sporting framework. By the way, the next FCB home match will take place on 3.11.2012. The current match posters will be displayed in the Basel region one week beforehand.

Digital radio DAB is finally replaced by DAB+

The DAB digital radio standard was introduced in Switzerland a little over ten years ago. Starting next week, however, DAB-compatible radios will already be obsolete: That’s when the standard will be permanently replaced by the newer DAB+.

Specifically, from October 17, radio listeners in German-speaking Switzerland will only be able to listen to DRS 1, DRS 4 and DRS Musikwelle as well as some stations from Latin Switzerland via DAB. Anyone wishing to receive other SRG stations digitally will need a DAB+-capable device or an adapter for their radio. In French-speaking Switzerland, the switchover will take place on October 15, in Ticino on October 22.

SRG assumes that around 80,000 devices are affected. In total, there are around one million digital radios in operation across Switzerland, most of which are compatible with the new DAB+ standard. Compared to FM, however, digital radio is still not very widespread in Switzerland: SRG estimates the number of FM radios at 10 million. Although the switch from DAB to DAB+ is imminent, many customers and apparently even some retailers are unaware or misinformed, as reported by the Berner Zeitung and Saldo magazine.

Media spokesperson Simone Wölfli denies that SRG failed to provide information about the switchover in good time. The switch to DAB+ had already been announced in 2008, she explained when asked. In the same year, SRG began holding industry workshops with dealers. In addition, listeners were informed about the change with flyers and on the Internet. (SDA)

Republica lets Maloney recruit for police force

The Bern-based agency Republica has enlisted radio detective Philip Maloney to help recruit new officers for the Bern Cantonal Police. On the informational DVD about police careers, the nation’s most outspoken critic of the police engages in a verbal sparring match with a police spokeswoman.

DRS 3 listeners know it: private detective Philip Maloney doesn't leave a good hair on his police colleague's head in his hair-raising cases and growls one nasty remark after another over the airwaves. Now Maloney (Michael Schacht) is also having a go at the Bern cantonal police, according to a press release. The police have shown a good dose of self-irony and agreed to Republica's idea of letting Maloney put in a cynical word for their professional training.

A hair-raising case: "The wrong picture"

"Police officers have to be fit enough to stand around idly at police headquarters." Maloney spouts these and other nice things on the DVD "A hair-raising case: The wrong picture". A police spokeswoman (Manuela Biedermann) stands up to the warhorse and straightens out his crooked police images. According to the agency, the result is an entertaining radio play that provides all the important information about the three professions in uniform at the Bern Cantonal Police. Interested men and women are thus given an entertaining overview of everyday working life, career prospects, requirements and training as a police officer, embassy guard and traffic service employee. The radio play is visually accompanied by a slide show with pictures from the respective everyday working life.

The bilingual DVD (German and French) is available free of charge to anyone interested in one of the three police professions at the Bern Cantonal Police and can be downloaded from Police-job.ch be ordered.

Responsible at the cantonal police of Bern: Hans Rütti (Deputy Head of Human Resources). Gemi August 2012: Advertising pressure remains stable

In August, advertising pressure remained stable both in electronic media and in the overall market. Adscreen continued its winning streak from previous months and was the only medium to see growth.

With a further increase of 17 points, Adscreen is continuing the trend of previous months, reaching 585 (568) index points, according to a press release. "Adscreen has enormous sales-promoting strengths and is the contemporary form of out-of-home advertising. In addition, new and interesting measurement and advertising opportunities are constantly emerging, which is why we are systematically driving forward the expansion of our digital out-of-home offering", says Alexander Duphorn, CEO of Goldbach Media, explaining the development. TV advertising pressure remains unchanged at 602 (602) index points and electronic media at 605 (605) index points. At 91 (93) index points, the advertising pressure of teletext has hardly changed. Radio and the Internet lost 3 and 4 points respectively, remaining at 418 (421) and 649 (653) index points. The overall market has remained constant for several months at 237 (238) index points.

The overall market and electronic media as a whole are stable: in contrast to the overall market, which lost one point at 237 (238) index points, electronic media remained unchanged at 605 index points. Alexander Duphorn comments: "This confirms our experience over the last few months: the positive development of electronic media is continuing".

Last but not least: Kick-off 20 minutes late

The Super League broadcasts are jarring because of their English-language on-screen captions. Readers of 20minuten.ch tried to draw attention to this as early as July. To no avail.

On July 16, 20minuten.ch reported on the coverage of the first Super League round. "SF misses out on the new Super League". Swiss television still mentioned Axpo as a sponsor, even though the league was already called the "Raiffeisen Super League". Another novelty of the SF broadcast was pointed out several times in the comments section:

kommentare-20min
Screenshots: 20min.ch

Also Advertisingweek.ch reported on the article and the strange English-language inserts. Not that you would expect the 20 Minuten editorial team to read Werbewoche.ch. But perhaps their own comments? Either way, sooner or later - three months later, for example - you'll figure it out for yourself anyway. This is what happened today with the following article:

Unbenannt-5_1

Incidentally, it is interesting that "the background" was basically nothing more than a confirmation of what the reader with the pseudonym "Dani Wyler" already suspected in the commentary. Notker Ledergeber, program director of SRF-Sport, told 20minuten.ch: "Regarding the language of the Super League broadcasts, SRG and its partners (SFL, Teleclub) have agreed on English, as this is the most neutral and can be understood in all language regions of Switzerland." This is because the games are not only broadcast on SF zwei, but also on the SRG channels RSI and RTS. (hae)

Ogilvy & Mather: Ford brochure created

Ogilvy & Mather created the biannual Carline brochure to showcase Ford’s current lineup. Ford dealers use it as a sales tool, and it reaches a wide audience as an insert in daily newspapers and trade publications.

Twice a year, Ford presents its new vehicles and current offers in a 16-page, high-circulation supplement in the daily press and special interest magazines, according to a press release. In addition to advertising the latest vehicle innovations and offers, the brochure serves as a daily sales tool for Ford dealers.

The balanced mixture of emotions and hard sales facts as well as appealing offers made the design of the brochure a creative challenge, writes the agency. With the current Carline brochure, however, the agency has succeeded in creating a coherent implementation that appeals to both the head and the gut for the second time in landscape format.
