Alao launches first major "simply easy" campaign

The comparison website Alao.ch is launching its first national multichannel campaign. Humorous scenes are meant to show that many things in life are hard to change—but switching cell phone plans, on the other hand, is very easy.

Whether it's an uncomfortable seat on an airplane or a tattoo with a spelling mistake, some things are difficult to "correct". This is not the case with cell phone subscriptions, which can be easily changed via Alao. The start-up's current campaign, which has been running on TV, DOOH, social media and other digital channels since Monday, focuses on this insight.

The background to this is a survey conducted by Appinio on behalf of Alao, which shows that 54.3% of respondents believe that switching subscriptions is complicated - a widespread misconception. "We want to change that with our campaign," explains Walter Salchli, founder and CEO of Alao. Because there are countless times when it would be worth checking your subscription. At least whenever there are big changes in your life. Your first trip, your first home, moving in together or planning a family. This is why the campaign also shows different everyday moments that are intended to appeal to a broad target group.

The campaign marks an important step for the company, which was founded in 2019 and aims to establish itself as the leading platform for the digital optimization of mobile and internet subscriptions in Switzerland.

Transparent consumers? EKK invites you to a public round table

Digital personalization offers consumers convenience and tailored offers—but it also raises questions about the protection of their data. The Federal Commission for Consumer Affairs (EKK) will address this topic on Thursday with a public roundtable discussion in Bern. Experts from various fields will examine the opportunities and risks of data-driven business models.

(Iconic image: Unsplash.com)

While personalized recommendations can improve the consumer experience, data-intensive technologies also create risks: Consumers could lose control over their data, which weakens their position vis-à-vis companies. This becomes particularly problematic in sensitive areas such as healthcare, education or energy supply, where personalized pricing or algorithmic decisions can have far-reaching consequences.

A central theme of the public roundtable is whether existing consumer law is keeping pace with developments in the digital economy. Many current regulations are based on concepts from a time when trade was still more strongly characterized by physical products and services. EU regulation and other international approaches could serve as a guide when discussing new legal frameworks.

The event will start with an analysis of the status quo. Speakers will then represent the following different points of view: Consumer organizations, companies, European law, price monitoring and unfair competition. The aim is to conduct an open dialog on possible protection mechanisms and adjustments to the legal framework.

Independent Paper Show 2025: Paper as a source of inspiration

On May 7 and 8, 2025, Zurich will become the hub of the European creative paper industry. At the Shedhalle in the Rote Fabrik, 21 exhibitors will showcase innovations and applications from the world of paper. The event is aimed at professionals in graphic design, marketing, and print production.

Marketing in transition: Generative AI and marketing trends in the focus of the Flybridge survey

A recent survey by the marketing and strategy consulting firm Flybridge examines how marketing professionals view the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and current marketing trends. The results reveal the issues that are currently shaping the industry.

(Image: zVg.)

According to the study, the use of generative AI in marketing was rated as the most important marketing trend by respondents. More than half (57.6%) of the participants were aware of this, making it the most well-known of the marketing trends surveyed. Nevertheless, many see potential for greater integration in companies. For example, respondents would like to see more intensive use of generative AI in the future, as the benefits of this technology, such as the optimization of processes or support for creative tasks, are increasingly being recognized.

(Graphic: zVg.

ChatGPT in particular stands out with a high awareness (74.1%) and usage rate (71.2%). Specialized applications, such as the AI-supported image generator Adobe Firefly and the tool for creating virtual characters Character.ai, are also gaining increasing attention in the industry. This shows that in addition to all-round solutions, specialized applications also help to increase efficiency and creativity in marketing.

Focus on customer and value-oriented marketing

In addition to generative AI, the survey highlighted the high relevance of customer- and value-oriented approaches - marketing approaches that focus on individual customer needs as well as sustainable and ethical corporate values. Two thirds of respondents rate these trends as particularly important for their company's marketing strategy. These approaches aim to build long-term trust and strengthen customer loyalty through a personalized customer approach and sustainable business models.

Analytics & data science as pioneers

The survey also shows that the area of analytics & data science in marketing - data analysis methods in marketing that work with statistical and AI-supported models to predict patterns and trends - appears to be at the forefront of the use of generative AI. Experts from this field agree with statements on the integration of AI into company processes significantly more often than others. This is particularly the case when it comes to the promotion of the use of AI by management, the use of AI tools for a fee and the existence of people responsible for the use of generative AI. Automated analyses, data-based decisions and efficiency gains make this area a best-practice example that could inspire other marketing areas.

A look into the future

The results show that generative AI as well as customer- and value-oriented approaches could represent a long-term change in marketing. The authors recommend that companies invest in the development of clear strategies and further training at an early stage in order to benefit from these trends and position themselves successfully against the competition.

The Flybridge-The survey was conducted among 139 marketing professionals from Switzerland and shows which topics are currently of concern to the industry.

Every second Swiss woman would change her job for more pay

Xing's 2025 Job Mobility Study shows that for 52 percent of the women surveyed, better pay would be the main reason to look for a new job. Factors such as leadership style, stress, and the desire for a change also play a role.

(Infographic: Xing/Forsa)

In the study conducted by the opinion research institute Forsa, over 500 employed women in German-speaking Switzerland were asked about their job satisfaction and willingness to change jobs. Overall, women are similarly satisfied with their job as men (85 percent vs. 84 percent). Nevertheless, 37 percent of women think about changing jobs several times a month. While 45 percent are open to the idea but have not yet taken any concrete steps, 12 percent are actively planning a change.

Same satisfaction, but structural disadvantages

Although the Swiss labor market is stable and the fear of losing their job has decreased (14% of women fear losing their job, compared to 25% in 2024), structural challenges remain. Women are three times more likely to work part-time than men - often due to unpaid care work. They also earn less on average than their male colleagues in the private sector.

Higher salary and stability as the most important criteria

When choosing a new employer, women primarily focus on financial security and long-term stability: 59% want a higher salary, 58% value a secure job. Flexible working hours (54%) and good accessibility of the company location (54%) are also key criteria. Whether the job involves working weekends or night shifts also plays a role for many.

Hurdles to changing jobs and attractive benefits

Despite better pay, there are factors that deter women from applying. Particular deterrents are an unfavorable company location (52 percent), a poor management culture (46 percent) and fixed-term contracts (34 percent). Remote work, on the other hand, is less decisive for women than for men (12 percent vs. 24 percent).

The most attractive benefit for both genders is the four-day week (52%). Women also value transparent salary structures (36%) and job-sharing models (19%), while men are more interested in workation (32% vs. 20%). The option of working from home, on the other hand, is not a decisive criterion for most.

"Women in particular need conditions such as flexible working models so that they don't get caught between work and family," says Petra von Strombeck, CEO of New Work. Companies that create corresponding offers could become more attractive as a result.
