Power Pur highlights the relevance of print in the marketing mix

On Tuesday, the print and media industry gathered at JED Events in Schlieren for the third «Power Pur.» Host Sunnie J. Groeneveld guided more than 150 attendees through the afternoon’s program. The Swiss Print Award was presented afterward.

Beat Kneubühl, President of the Dp Suisse association and organizer of Power Pur together with Galledia, spoke about the relevance of marketing and branding in the print industry in his opening speech. In rapidly changing times, it is all the more relevant to consolidate and anchor print in the marketing mix.

After Kneubühl joined the company, the Print Ambassador was chosen for Swiss excellence in the print business. The winner was the "Independent Paper Show" under the aegis of artist Lorenz Boegli (speaking in the picture below). The show unites the creative paper industry under one roof; leading European paper manufacturers as well as all Swiss distributors show paper in its most versatile form. At the beginning of May, 850 print enthusiasts flocked to the Rote Fabrik in Zurich for the Independent Paper Show.

The first keynote of "Power Pur" was given by Dr. Marcus Schögel from HSG on the topic of "Customer First: The experience counts - not the channel!". In his passionate speech about print, he presented seven theses that he considers relevant in connection with print in the marketing mix.

Afterwards, TCS CMO Dierk Schehrer, "Advertiser of the Year" 2025 Philipp Skrabal from Team Farner and moderator Sunnie J. Groeneveld spoke on the panel about how print strengthens campaigns. The exciting combination of print and online via QR codes and augmented reality was emphasized. Skrabal also emphasized people's longing for haptics - to be able to touch things.

The last keynote before the break was given by Jule Peters, Senior Content Creator at The People Branding Company and responsible for C-Levels' LinkedIn presence. Under the motto "The power of personal branding & corporate influencing - how to use LinkedIn for yourself", she spoke about the important presence of each individual on LinkedIn. As an example, she cited Bill Gates' account on LinkedIn, which has far more followers than Microsoft's corporate account. "It's a platform by people for people," explains Peters. People like to follow people and also contribute as people on LinkedIn. Being authentic and sharing experiences creates trust. Writing about everyday working life is good for the company and the person themselves. The content doesn't have to be perfect; conveying a personal voice and engaging followers is much more important. 4.1 million people in Switzerland, across all industries, use LinkedIn. According to Peters, not as many people from the print industry are active yet. The aim here is to talk about everyday working life, share personal stories - and not just show the finished products. In this way, the industry - and the people who work in it - can gain more visibility overall.

However, LinkedIn should not be seen as a place for pure self-promotion. Rather, it is a platform on which companies can become visible through personal perspectives, Peters continued. At the same time, she pointed out the building blocks of a successful presence on LinkedIn. Visibility is scalable if work is done on several levels: The CEO account is just as central as a professionally managed company presence - however, employees also play an important role. Companies should actively encourage their teams to contribute their own content. It is crucial that the content is linked to the corporate strategy: whether recruiting, positioning or addressing customers - LinkedIn offers space for strategically focused communication without appearing unapproachable.

Peters also lists the basics: A good profile picture, an understandable profile slogan, a coherent banner and a clear link to the company are essential. Personal content works best when it takes up concrete situations from everyday working life, is told authentically and is shared regularly - ideally once or twice a week. Visuals could help to make the content more accessible.

Growth comes not least from active networking. Up to one hundred targeted requests per week are a realistic guideline for continuously expanding your own network, Peters continued. Finally, Peters encouraged the guests at "Power Pur" to "engage with LinkedIn with joy and fun" - and to end LinkedIn posts with an open question. This stimulates discussions and increases the chance of "real exchange".

Livique. Live it. Love it: Valencia develops claim for the furniture store

Livique positions itself as a modern home furnishings store with a diverse product range. Valencia Kommunikation has developed a tagline that captures what Livique stands for.

As part of a new communication guideline, the aim was to sharpen Livique's identity and strengthen the furniture store's emotional profile. The starting point was an in-depth analysis of Livique's brand values, mission and vision. The focus was particularly on the question of how the brand experience can be summarized from the customer's perspective: At Livique, homeliness is not just offered, but lived and loved.

Emotional and memorable

Based on these findings, Valencia developed the claim "Livique. Live it. Love it.", which "brings this essence to the point and strengthens Livique communicatively", according to the agency. In addition to the content, great attention was also paid to the form of the claim: the three elements form a sequence that integrates the brand name at the end and incorporates it tonally and rhythmically. The triple structure created in this way is intended to arouse emotions and supports brand recognition.

The new claim has been integrated into the brand communication since the end of April 2025 and will be visible across various channels in future.

With the new office in Paris, Pressrelations is strengthening its activities in Europe and responding to the growing demand for integrated solutions for cross-media monitoring. For clients from French-speaking Switzerland, this provides additional access to local analytical expertise. At the same time, international clients will benefit from more direct access to the French media landscape, as detailed in a press release.

Christophe Dickès will take over the management of the Paris office as Managing Partner France. Dickès has more than twenty years of industry experience in media analysis and communication and is involved in international professional associations such as the Fédération Internationale des Bureaux d'Extraits de Presse FIBEP and the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication AMEC.

"France is an important market for media monitoring and analysis," says Jens Schmitz, Managing Partner of Pressrelations. "With 'NewsRadar', we are offering the French market a fully integrated tool for the first time that combines all relevant media channels - traditional media as well as social media - on a single platform. This benefits not only our new French customers, but also our existing customers from the DACH region, the USA and China, who now have even more comprehensive access to the French media landscape."

"The French market is currently lacking a provider that combines state-of-the-art AI technology with genuine human expertise," adds Dickès. The aim is to change this with customized and data protection-compliant solutions.

With the addition of Paris, Pressrelations' international network now includes offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Vienna, Stans, Austin TX, Shanghai and now also in France. The company serves over 1,000 clients worldwide.

Daniel Howe becomes Head of Communications and Marketing at Netrics

Technology provider Netrics has brought on board branding expert Daniel Howe as its new Head of Communications and Marketing. With this move, the company aims to strengthen its brand positioning and sharpen its strategic focus.

(Image: zVg.)

Technology alone is no longer a guarantee of competitive advantage - a strong positioning is also required. With this in mind, Netrics is now specifically strengthening its brand management: with immediate effect, Daniel Howe will be responsible for the company's strategic positioning as Head of Communications & Marketing. The aim is to differentiate the brand more clearly in the market and promote the company's growth.

"Digitalization alone is no longer a distinguishing feature - technologies are available, comparable and interchangeable," says Pascal Kocher, CEO of Netrics. "Real differentiation arises where complexity is reduced and the benefits are brought to the point. With his experience at the interface of technology, transformation and brand management, Daniel Howe brings exactly the expertise we need for this."

Daniel Howe can look back on over 25 years of experience in brand management and communication, including at companies such as Zühlke, KPMG, Switch, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and most recently as Director of Strategy at an agency. He has supported numerous organizations in transformation processes, repositioned brands and implemented data-driven communication strategies.

"If you want to survive in a dynamic environment, you have to consistently make visible what you stand for - and what makes you special," says Howe about his new role at Netrics. "A strong brand arouses desire, provides orientation and serves as a compass for entrepreneurial decisions."

Switzerland Tourism: Hotels welcome buzzing and fluttering guests

In the latest campaign by Switzerland Tourism (ST), bees, butterflies, and insects are taking center stage for a change. They are promoting the new «Bees & Friends» hotels and are meant to showcase the diversity of Switzerland’s hotel offerings.

At the start of the campaign, almost 50 hotels are already part of this unusual accommodation cooperation - they all have wild bee hotels or hedgehog shelters in the immediate vicinity. "Together with our accommodation partners, we are proving to the world that Switzerland really does have something to offer for all guests. We are a dream destination for even the tiniest of travelers," explains ST-CMO and "Advertiser of the Year 2023" André Hefti.

Busy buzz in New York's Times Square

The campaign film is staged in the style of a major international nature documentary - realized by wildlife photographer and documentary filmmaker Roman Willi, among others. The distinctive narrative voice in the English-language version comes from the well-known British actor James Faulkner.

The campaign is running on social media and on electronic advertising spaces such as Times Square in New York. In Germany, tiny posters are being put up in various major cities as part of guerrilla marketing campaigns aimed directly at "travel-loving" insects - and big travelers who enjoy the "Jöö effect". Numerous promotional activities are also planned in the home market of Switzerland and in the United Kingdom.

Swiss Packaging Institute elects new President and Board of Directors

At its 62nd general meeting, the Swiss Packaging Institute (SVI) elected Tobias Leischner as its new president. In addition, four new board members were appointed.

At the SVI general meeting in Olten on Friday, the association looked back on a difficult year. Financial challenges and increasing regulatory pressure characterized the situation. The SVI closed 2024 with a loss of CHF 12,756. Managing Director Andreas Zopfi therefore called for a change of perspective in which the industry leaves "crisis mode" and views the current circumstances - including regulatory changes and geopolitical uncertainties - as the new normal.

The meeting focused on the elections to the Board of Directors: After 13 years, President Philippe Dubois stepped down. Board members Micaël Müller (Migros Industrie), Hansruedi Schafflützel (Wipf) and Patrick Semadeni (Semadeni Group) also stepped down. Tobias Leischner (Bourquin) was unanimously elected as the new President. Rolf Eicher (JobTalente), Roberto Polizzi (Migros Industrie), Othmar Wohlhauser (Wipf) and Rudolf Zimmerli (Proderma) were also newly elected to the Board.

In his laudatory speech for outgoing President Dubois, Managing Director Zopfi paid tribute to his consistently focused work and his role as a bridge builder.

In the statutory part of the meeting, the members unanimously approved the annual report, minutes and budget for 2025. They also approved a 5% increase in contributions from 2026 - the first since 2010. The full minutes will be available at the end of May 2025 on the SVI website available.

Blish: 55 years of Swiss Sports Aid are worth their weight in gold

To mark the 55th anniversary of Swiss Sports Aid, Blish launched a testimonial campaign that showcases what the foundation does for talented athletes who want to reach the top.

Since 1970, Swiss Sports Aid has provided financial support to more than 20,000 athletes from almost 100 different sports. Some of them - including multiple Paralympic champion Catherine Debrunner, European pole vault champion Angelica Moser, sports legend Bernhard Russi and talented young cross-country skier Isai Näff - are testimonials for the campaign, which was realized by Blish.

In a TVC, banner formats, on social media and in print, the campaign conveys the message that talents can achieve great things together with their supporters. With "Zäme träume, zäme kämpfe, zäme gwünne", Swiss Sports Aid draws attention to the importance of financial support for talented athletes and the sporting successes that have been and continue to be made possible by this support.

The testimonial campaign will be accompanied by a fundraising campaign and behind-the-scenes insights on social media. "With the TVC, we are not only celebrating the commitment of Swiss Sports Aid, but also the many athletes we have been able to support and accompany to great successes over the past 55 years," says Steve Schennach, Managing Director of Swiss Sports Aid.

Apprenticeship network with new website

The apprenticeship network’s new website provides clarity. A clean design and concise content make the Bern-based association’s offerings even more accessible.

Since 2012, the Apprenticeship network It helps young people enter the world of work and supports companies in recruiting and training apprentices. Over the last few years, the range of offers for young people, parents, schools and training companies has grown considerably - and with it the old website, which was becoming increasingly confusing as a result. As part of the relaunch, all content has therefore been restructured, shortened and given a fresh new look.

A compass for choosing a career

A central element of the new website is the clickable timeline. It provides the various target groups with a clear overview: Which offers fit in which phase? Which activities are suitable for each grade level?

"Many parents and young people lose track during the career choice phase," says Michael Raaflaub, Managing Director of the association. "With the timeline and the revised structure, this is exactly where we pick them up: simple, understandable and digital."

At the same time, the association's image was modernized. The new logo emphasizes the apprenticeship network's function as a bridge builder between the worlds of school and work.

Gold Interactive and Neustadt: Brand refresh for PensExpert

To meet the growing demands of the B2B and B2C markets and to more clearly position its long-standing expertise in customized retirement planning solutions, PensExpert has implemented a comprehensive brand refresh, including a modern website. Gold Interactive and Neustadt are responsible for the implementation.

As part of a comprehensive digital realignment, a modern brand presence was created for PensExpert that combines stable pension values with contemporary user guidance. The central element of the transformation is a striking visual concept: authentic reportage photographs provide transparent insights into the company, while the artistic visual aesthetics of the AI-generated mineral images serve as a visual metaphor. They stand for pioneering spirit, stability and the value that grows with time - in line with the brand values. In animated form, they become a subtle, moving eye-catcher and add depth and character to the digital experience.

From strategy to implementation

The project began with an in-depth analysis of the market and target groups, from which the strategic objectives were derived. On this basis, a new brand experience with a modern corporate identity was created, which preserves the core values of PensExpert and at the same time develops them in a contemporary way.

The focus was on a deep understanding of the different customer needs: Instead of relying on conventional pension industry patterns, a bold visual language was combined with an intuitive information architecture - communicating complex topics in a clear, accessible and understandable way.

SRF reorganizes audio/digital newsroom

SRF's Audio/Digital Editorial Department, established in early 2024, will adopt a new newsroom structure effective 2026. This change is intended to enable more targeted and centralized planning of content for audio and digital channels.

As part of the "Newsroom 3.0" project, the structures and processes in SRF's audio/digital editorial team are being reorganized. The aim of the reform is to centrally and holistically plan the content for the primetime programs "HeuteMorgen", "Info 3", "Rendez-vous" and "Echo der Zeit" and to coordinate more closely with the news app.

According to Beat Soltermann, Co-Editor-in-Chief Audio/Digital, the new structure will enable us to continue offering high-quality and reliable journalism in the future. Co-editor-in-chief Ursula Gabathuler adds: "The new structures also allow us to react quickly and flexibly to the rapidly changing needs of media usage."

The project group based the development of the new structure on the Zurich Leutschenbach newsroom, but adapted processes and roles specifically to the requirements of the audio offerings. This adjustment is also a prerequisite for the planned merger of the video and audio/digital editorial teams.

Over the next few months, the new roles will be filled and preparations will be made for implementation. The operational launch is scheduled for 2026.

Thjnk Zurich: Helsana offers support in "And now?" moments

In a recent branding campaign, Thjnk Zurich positions the health insurance provider Helsana as a trusted partner throughout all stages of life.

There are always moments in life when you ask yourself: What now? That's exactly when it's valuable to have someone by your side who provides security and shows you options. That way, you can decide for yourself what to do next.

When it comes to health, Helsana positions itself as such a trustworthy partner with its offers and services. The image campaign is intended to highlight the fact that health insurance offers options at every stage of life that help you move forward.

The measures include a cross-thematic TV spot, three thematic short spots and five OOH motifs. The focus is on true-to-life "And now?" moments. The confrontation with the question "What now?", which is literally posed in the moving image and in the stills, is intended to make viewers think and show how helpful it is to have options through good insurance.

Jung von Matt and Zweifel teach potatoes how to crisp up

The latest campaign, created by Snackbrands and Jung von Matt Limmat, shows what it takes to make Zweifel chips so uniquely crispy: a lot of practice—and just a little bit of talent.

The current campaign is not set in the Zweifel factory, but out in the field. Where the potato chips begin and the potatoes learn to crunch.

The crunch of the potatoes is also the focus of the campaign TVC: with a gigantic loudspeaker construction and a lot of love, the Zweifel Snack experts show what the crunch should sound like and take great care of every single potato.

The accompanying OOH subjects show the snack experts in dialog with the potatoes: a snack expert asks a potato in the field what it wants to be when it grows up. The only correct answer: crispy. "By giving the potatoes a voice, it becomes clear that the snack experts are only one side of the golden coin of doubt. The right performance of each individual potato is almost more important," says Dominique Magnusson, Creative Director of Jung von Matt Limmat.

With fictional behind-the-scenes clips, the agency relies on a social media format specially designed for the campaign. In it, potatoes are interviewed in the make-up, for example, and insights into crisp casting are provided. As it turns out, not every potato can withstand the pressure to succeed.

"With the new campaign, we are showcasing what matters most: The real crunch of our potato chips. And the love for every single Härdöpfel that will later become potato chips," say Gina Chiellino and Jürg Brauchli, Brand Communication at Zweifel. Zweifel's current campaign not only tells the story of the snack experts, but also shows their close relationship with their protégés. The campaign launches on Monday in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland.
