In the course of a restructuring in the agency management of Kernbrand, there has recently been a change in leadership. Christoph Ottiger has left the company to devote himself to new professional tasks in the future. In the course of this development, the Gossau-based company Cavelti - as the previous partner - has decided to take over Kernbrand completely. The operational management of the agency is now in the hands of Oliver Fehr. According to the statement, Fehr brings with him many years of experience as head of marketing communications on the client and agency side and has led the agency Screenbox in Roggwil since 2009.

"With Oliver Fehr, we have found an experienced agency manager from whose drive our clients as well as the employees will benefit equally," explains Claudio Cavelti, designated managing director of Cavelti.

With Cavelti's complementary scope of services (media, print and publishing) and the integration of Screenbox, Kernbrand now offers comprehensive full-service communications solutions and brand consulting with a focus on SMEs in eastern Switzerland. Despite the takeover by Cavelti, the Kernbrand agency will continue to operate as an independent and autonomous company in St. Gallen, the statement continues.

Switzerland Tourism aims to attract new guests with "Swiss Summer Lounge" in Milan

With a pop-up in Milan’s historic center, Switzerland Tourism aims to attract potential visitors to Switzerland. The «Swiss Summer Lounge» opened last weekend and drew a great deal of public interest.

For ten days, the "Swiss Summer Lounge" presents the Swiss summer as a multimedia pop-up. A typically Swiss ambience, food and drink from Swiss cuisine and wine cellars as well as a selection of different VR films from the regions and train journeys are designed to inspire northern Italians - in line with the campaign claim "Nature wants you back".

Swiss tourism advertising has been present in Milan for almost 100 years, and Italy is the eighth strongest foreign market for Swiss tourism. In order to maintain this presence, Switzerland Tourism continues to pursue concise tourism marketing throughout Italy, with a focus on the northern Italian metropolitan areas. In the current difficult times for the Italian economy, new and creative marketing ideas are always in demand.

Together with tourism partners from Central Switzerland, Ticino and Bern as well as Swiss transport companies, Switzerland Tourism Italy is presenting the "Swiss Summer Lounge" as an alternative to tourism trade fairs to interact personally with potential guests, with digitalization playing a central role but personal contact being just as important. In addition to aperitifs and food, there will also be tasting and themed workshops on Swiss wine, Appenzeller beer and Swiss cheese, as well as on nature and sustainability.

Serviceplan implements youth campaign "Zieh's durch" for Credit Suisse

Plk_Ziehs_durch_Umzug_F12_d_HE

The aim of Credit Suisse's marketing department was to use the campaign to make the big bank's brand essence "Driving Progress" more tangible and to show what personalities Credit Suisse stood for. To achieve this, it relied on Serviceplan for the first time.

The campaign was designed to empower young people and students to stand on their own two feet and go their own way. The core of the campaign is a manifesto film, which wants to convey that everyone should follow their own ideas and shape their own future. An online campaign with moving images and various social media activities, as well as eight creations for DOOH, classic posters and POS advertising, are intended to reflect the "spirit" of the campaign for each individual target segment.

The website offers tips and tricks for each topic covered, and an extension on Instagram, among others, deepens the thoughts with documentary stories: young people tell what drives them and keeps them going in short, real-life portraits.

The "Zieh's durch" campaign also incorporates Credit Suisse's football commitment through social media clips featuring Breel Embolo, Kevin Mbabu and Remo Freuler, and also demonstrates the big bank's attitude to the LGBTIQ community through the headline "Steh zu deiner Identität. Pull it through".

Reflecting on retirement planning with Heimat and Bank Cler

In a new online campaign by Bank Cler, people are thinking about their retirement planning.

bank-cler-vorsorge-heimat-zuerich

Whether at work or in our free time, our modern lives are full of exciting challenges. In most cases, there is not enough time in everyday life to think about retirement planning with securities. However, there are a number of decisive advantages to addressing this issue at an early stage.

In order to explicitly draw the attention of a younger target group, Bank Cler has now launched a campaign consisting of online films and other digital measures.

In the three films, which are used on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, various testimonials - a climber, a downhill biker and a barista - reflect in their authentic living environment on financial security in old age. In the process, various advantages of long-term retirement planning with securities are addressed: less risk, higher potential returns, and the opportunity to invest sustainably.

The powerful message: enjoy your life in the here and now, but don't forget to plan in time for the retirement provisions that are right for you.

Responsible at Bank Cler: Gregor Eicher (Head of Marketing), Barbara Gürtler (Branding), Markus Wittenbecher (Head of Sales Marketing), Nina Kipfer (Sales Marketing). Creative agency: Home Zurich. Film production: Dynamic Frame.

"Darko" and "Grillschmöcker Armin" open the barbecue season

Coop is kicking off the grilling season with two new films and a campaign. TBWA\Zurich and Shining Pictures have created two humorous stories, both of which highlight the variety of the retailer’s grilling products. Contexta produced the accompanying visuals.

Since real barbecue fans also barbecue when the weather is not quite right, Switzerland's largest retailer has been offering the full program for barbecue moments of all kinds since the beginning of May. Vanessa Finzer, Head of Advertising at Coop, says: "With this campaign, we are continuing to focus on customer proximity and the knowledge of our butchers, who are also personally passionate about grilling.

Just a few weeks ago, TBWA\Zurich launched the new image campaign on behalf of Coop and is now following up with two new films and a cross-media barbecue campaign. After the film "Darko" went on air the week before last, "Der Grillschmöcker" is now also out. While Darko humorously inspires all his colleagues to grill, the Grillschmöcker surprises us with his keen sense of smell for grilled food in his village - and his butchery expertise at the meat counter. The importance of personal advice from the Coop butcher is particularly evident in the second film. The central message in both films is clear: Coop has the right product for every barbecue taste.

In addition to the two TVCs and the revised "Tsch, tsch" label, new subjects will also be used in print, OOH, online and at POS. The campaign will run until the end of the barbecue season.

Schawinski violated human dignity of talk show guest Balthus, according to ombudsman Blum

TV presenter Roger Schawinski violated the human dignity of German prostitute Salomé Balthus in an SRF talk show, according to the Ombudsman. Schawinski had asked her in front of running cameras whether she had been sexually abused as a child.

schawinski-balthus

In his final report on the April 8 broadcast of "Schawinski," SRG-Deutschschweiz ombudsman Roger Blum supports complaints from ten viewers. After the broadcast of the interview with 34-year-old high-class prostitute Klara Johanna Lakomy, known as Salomé Balthus, they had expressed their displeasure at the way the 74-year-old presenter conducted the conversation.

In his 16-page commentary, Blum concludes that Schawinski, who is generally regarded as aggressive, did not take enough into account in his questioning style this time that a journalistic interview is intended for the public and that the direct personal question of whether someone was sexually abused in childhood does not belong in the public domain, even if the person was not abused.

"Disdainful tone"

Furthermore, Schawinski had not considered that Balthus' father, who had been prominently featured, and the conversation about his daughter's relationship with him had led to the audience immediately thinking of the father when the question about sexual abuse in childhood came up. Thus, the human dignity of the father had possibly also been violated, even if unintentionally.

The ombudsman criticized as "inappropriate" a "slightly contemptuous tone throughout the broadcast" towards the Berlin philosopher and escort service operator.

Blum wrote that one could not shake off the impression that the moderator had not conducted the interview out of an interest in knowledge, but had wanted to distinguish his guest's life plan as a "bad" one from a "good" one. "That had a discriminatory tendency. It was not fair to the audience either."

Schawinski defends critical questions

Schawinski sees no violation of the SRG concession. In a submission to the ombudsman, Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) defended the program and the critical questions surrounding prostitution and abuse.

Balthus deliberately makes her experiences as a prostitute public and thus breaks down boundaries, it was said. She seeks attention through provocations in her contributions as an author. However, those responsible conceded that the audience should have been given more background on the talk show guest, who is hardly known in Switzerland, at the beginning of the program.

In a statement on the ombudsman's report published on the Internet, SRF editor-in-chief Tristan Brenn acknowledged that the way Schawinski was questioned had hurt feelings, both of Balthus and of many viewers. SRF apologizes for this.

However, Schawinski had not asked about sexual abuse by his father and had not made any allusion to it, the statement continued. The quote circulated by Balthus was false and had led to partly defamatory reactions towards Schawinski.

Balthus said to 20minuten.chShe was overwhelmed by the commitment and solidarity of the Swiss public. Not only women, but also men have stood up for her. That means a lot to her. The matter no longer feels like a violation of her human dignity, but "more like a victory.

Balthus' appearance on "Schawinski" made some headlines. On the one hand, the presenter was harshly criticized in the media for exposing a prostitute on TV. On the other hand, Balthus lost her job as a columnist for the German newspaper The world after only nine months, after she complained about the controversial show in a column and misquoted Schawinski in the article.

Not the first rebuke

This is not the first rebuke from the SRG ombudsman's office against longtime radio and TV talker Schawinski. In the past, his interviews in 2018 with SVP National Councilor Magdalena Martullo-Blocher were also criticized as one-sided and in 2014 with satirist Andreas Thiel as spiteful and improper. (SDA)
