Ringier, Swisscom and SRF jointly launch the Web Video Award Switzerland

Admeira's partners—Ringier, Swisscom, and SRF—will jointly launch Switzerland's first web video award in 2016.

In Germany, the award has been attracting an ever-increasing audience for six years and is now a renowned event for "Generation Youtube". Now, the award is also intended to honor the diverse web video creation in Switzerland. Six years ago, the European Webvideo Academy (EWVA) awarded the prize in Germany for the first time in various categories. Initially a rather small event, the prize soon became the talk of the town. Over the years, the web video award has become bigger and more popular, but without losing its original charm. This year, the prize was now awarded last Saturday in Düsseldorf. A total of over 2000 guests attended the gala, and hundreds of thousands of viewers watched live via YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.

The Web Video Award Germany came up with a surprise: Web video prizes are also to be awarded in Switzerland for the first time. The prize was brought to Switzerland by the three Admeira partners Ringier, Swisscom and SRF. In the first phase, the categories to be awarded will now be determined, a nomination jury and the voting procedure defined. The first award ceremony is scheduled to take place as early as December of this year.

Marc Walder, CEO Ringier: "The importance of web video content has increased massively in recent years. On Ringier platforms such as those of the Blick Group, video consumption has more than quadrupled since last year, and we now record up to 50 million views per month. Together with our Admeira partners, we want to underline the great importance of web videos with this award."

Colorful is the new blue - Evoq develops the brand relaunch of UPC Switzerland and Austria

As a branding agency, Evoq is playing a key role in supporting UPC with the country-specific launch of the new brand, which was presented to the public and UPC employees in Switzerland on May 25, 2016.

After the then upc cablecom announced the rebranding of the regional organizations Switzerland/Austria in December 2015, the goal was to implement the entire new and cross-national brand identity by summer 2016. Evoq accompanied UPC as a consultant in all brand strategy issues for the new corporate design. The agency developed the CD manual with all design elements and was responsible for revising the logo.

Another focus was on the development of various media for the internal UPC launch: a brand book in four languages for employees in Switzerland and Austria, posters, and a 1,400-piece brand puzzle that employees at UPC Switzerland headquarters put together together. In this way, they are involved in the new brand identity right from the start.

"The colorful Bloom is the centerpiece of the new brand and symbolizes UPC's broad product portfolio and diverse entertainment offerings," says Ralf Löwe, Head of Strategic Planning and Head of Mandate UPC at Evoq. "We brought the corporate values "clear, open, fresh" tangibly to life with our implementations, laying the foundation for a successful brand presence. According to UPC, this was very well received by the employees overall," he says happily.

Process clears the stage for von Salis

Process has sharpened the profile of the Graubünden wine merchant and winemaker von Salis in a far-reaching rebranding. The new appearance celebrates joie de vivre, sensuality and savoir-vivre and gives the wines and their stories a stage.

With over 2,300 wines, the Graubünden wine merchant von Salis offers its customers a wide variety of wine brands from all over the world. The range also includes its own wines, which are produced from grapes from the Bündner Herrschaft region.

Wine merchant or winemaker?

As von Salis operates under the same name as both a wine merchant and a winemaker, the positioning both internally and externally was unclear. The aim of the rebranding initiated with Process was to bring clarity to the communication. In order for both senders to exploit their full potential, the communication situations must be differentiated: Either the wine merchant is speaking or the winemaker and their own wines. This idea also manifests itself in the design.

Wine takes center stage

The first step was to redesign the wine retailer's image. Depending on the situation, the dynamic logo is either a symbol or a flexible stage. Stories, products and messages about wine play out on this stage. The result is a lively appearance that is entirely in keeping with the spirit of the new brand. von Salis acts as a pioneer, partner and expert, opening up access to wine and making it uncomplicated. "The focus is on wine" is also the claim.

The new brand exudes joie de vivre, celebrates enjoyment and sensuality. The illustrations by Japanese artist Satoshi Hashimoto emphasize these positive associations, illustrate the newly defined values and bring them closer to employees and customers in a likeable way.

Digital presence is crucial

Also the Website and the online store have been fundamentally revised and now offer not only a convenient shopping option and a clearly laid out source of information on all aspects of wine. Thanks to a sophisticated search mask, it is also possible to filter according to criteria such as personal taste (elegant, strong, full-bodied, etc.).

SRG's foreign offering reorganized

The Federal Council has signed a new four-year service agreement with the SRG regarding information services for Swiss citizens abroad. The SRG is tasked with keeping Swiss citizens abroad informed about current events in Switzerland.

The new service agreement is valid for the period from 2017 to 2020. The main component is the internet platform Swissinfo.ch with its texts, image, audio and video contributions in German, French, Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Russian. With voting and election dossiers, swissinfo.ch continues to enable the Swiss abroad to exercise their political rights in Switzerland.

With the Italian-language Internet platform Tvsvizzera.it, SRG is targeting the southern border region and cross-border commuters, but also all Italian speakers. SRG will also continue its existing cooperation with the international television channels TV5 (French) and 3sat (German). With this cooperation, television programs with a Swiss connection can be broadcast in over 210 countries.

The Radio and Television Act requires the Federal Council and the SRG to regulate this offering and its financing in periodic contracts. At least half of the costs are borne by the federal government. Compared to the current period (2013 to 2016), federal contributions will be around CHF 1.6 million lower over the next four years.

The new performance agreement also formulates qualitative and quantitative targets for the individual offerings. In addition, SRG will be required to report comprehensively each year on its Internet platforms and its cooperation with TV5 and 3sat.

Publicis: The future of today

Publicis is promoting UBS's digital offerings with a new campaign.

From digital account opening to mobile banking and payment by app: as a leading multi-channel bank, UBS combines the new digital with the tried and tested personal. UBS is one of the first Swiss banks to offer digital account opening. High net worth individuals benefit from UBS Wealth Management Online. With the Bexio business software, SMEs have the opportunity to carry out a daily reconciliation between their accounts and bookkeeping: With UBS SumUp PIN+, they can turn their smartphone or tablet into a cash register.

Publicis has created a new campaign to promote UBS's comprehensive digital offering and further strengthen its leading position in the field of digital banking. Consequently, the campaign will also be purely digital. The corresponding media strategy was developed in collaboration with the media agency Zenithoptimedia and Unique Digital and encompasses all online and social media channels.

The internet is full of imaginative, smart, high-tech gadgets that are often too good to be true - especially on YouTube. Publicis used such videos as inspiration for a campaign that in turn shows the digital offering from UBS that already exists - in the here and now. The film was directed by the L.A.-based Freise Brothers.

S&W becomes Kommpakt

Since June 1, 2016, the Baden-based advertising agency S&W has been known as Kommpakt. However, this change involves more than just a name change.

On the one hand, the name change represents the completed generational and ownership change: S&W was taken over by Martin Perini and Jörg Krummenacher from Urs Wiezel back in 2012. On the other hand, the agency has continued to develop consistently with the arrival of the two successors and other key employees. The strategic, conceptual, creative and digital expertise has been massively expanded.
