Dachcom.Digital realizes website for Radio L

Dachcom.digital has designed a new website for Radio L. The website is intended to serve as a digital supplement to the existing radio program.

Radio L's magazine and news programs can be accessed on demand at any time from an extensive audio archive. Pinterest lays foundation for making money

The U.S. startup Pinterest is laying the groundwork for future revenue. As the social network announced on Tuesday, companies can now see how many visitors were redirected to their sites via the Pinterest website.

Pinterest is a virtual pinboard where users display their interests and hobbies. They post videos, upload photos, offer recipes or jot down their shopping lists. The service, which has 30 million users worldwide, is particularly popular with women. In Switzerland, the network is little known. In the U.S., however, more and more retailers such as Gap, Patagonia, and Dell are using the platform, which has been around for three years, to advertise promotions or special offers.

"The goal is to help websites understand which of their content is attracting interest from Pinterest users," said product manager Cat Lee. So far, Pinterest operates without advertising. Analyst Greg Sterling of market watcher Opus Research called the service a "clear step" by Pinterest to earn money with data in the future. Pinterest CEO Ben Silbermann had already announced a corresponding approach.

In January, the company, currently valued at $2.5 billion, ranked 38th among the most visited websites by Americans. In February, the company raised $200 million in a financing round. Venture capitalists Andreessen Horowitz and Bessemer Venture Partners were among those who participated. (SDA)

Ruf Lanz seeks lateral hires for VBZ

Like many industrial companies, VBZ has a very low percentage of women in its workforce and would like to make better use of female talent in the future. That is why Ruf Lanz has designed an unconventional recruitment campaign.

With the new campaign, VBZ wants to build on the success that the female application quota has already risen from 16 to 31 percent. For the current year, they are looking for 60 new female and male streetcar drivers - mainly due to many retirements. The experience of recent years shows: Women who have already gained experience in dealing with customers and irregular working hours are ideal career changers for the job in the streetcar cockpit, the agency said in a statement Tuesday. Therefore, it makes sense to directly approach waitresses, hairdressers, bakers, foot reflexology masseuses or lingerie saleswomen and draw their attention to the two-month training as a streetcar driver with full pay, it said.

The new VBZ personnel campaign is running on various tracks: Firstly, as job advertisements in the free newspapers 20 Minuten and Blick am Abend.

The campaign also runs in selected trade magazines, on Jobs.ch in the relevant sections, on the e-board at Zurich's main train station and as cinema slides in Zurich and the surrounding area.

Economiesuisse analyzes campaign against rip-off initiative

Economiesuisse is conducting an internal review in light of the «fat-cat» initiative: The business umbrella organization intends to “take a self-critical, thorough, and open look at the campaign strategy and the preceding political decision-making process.”.

The Executive Committee carried out an initial analysis of the situation following the vote, it announced on Tuesday. Economiesuisse did not wish to comment on whether the results will be published and what specific questions they will ask themselves in the analysis.

On March 3, the Swiss electorate voted 67.9 percent in favor of the initiative by Thomas Minder, a member of the Council of States from Schaffhausen, thus inflicting a severe defeat on Economiesuisse's multi-million euro counter-campaign. Following the clear verdict of the voters, the governing body is taking the current debate very seriously, according to the press release. At the same time, the umbrella organization is reflecting on its image, role and responsibility. The necessary consequences will be drawn, Economiesuisse announced, without being specific.

The image of Switzerland's largest business association suffered, among other things, when it became public that an advertising agency had paid students to write comments against the rip-off initiative on online portals. The advertising agency designed the posters and advertisements for Economiesuisse's campaign against the initiative.

Economiesuisse then also rejected the campaign film by director Michael Steiner (Werbewoche.ch reported). The film exaggerated the consequences that Switzerland would face if the initiative was accepted.

Statements made by President Rudolf Wehrli on Swiss television SRF's "Rundschau" program also led to reactions. He said that several international companies had already worked out their plans to leave Switzerland if the initiative was accepted.

The organization feels it has been misunderstood: The image of Economiesuisse conveyed by the media does not do justice to the broad support of the association, it said in Tuesday's press release. The business association unites 20 cantonal chambers of industry and commerce, 100 industry associations and around 100,000 companies under its umbrella. (SDA)

Element P: Corporate film for Metrohm

The Biel-based film agency Element P has pulled out all the narrative and technical stops for the new corporate film of the high-tech company Metrohm Herisau.

"This film is futuristic and at the same time very human. The relevant Metrohm topics are in it, perfectly balanced between lightness and complexity," praised Metrohm CEO Christoph Fässler at the premiere. The Metrohm International Headquarters film project posed the question: How can highly complex technologies at the limits of what is technically feasible be communicated to a wider audience in such a way that they remain enthusiastic until the end? How do you present the value of a vertical range of manufacture of almost 100 percent? How do you show expertise and passion? "In the future, corporate films will increasingly become a key medium in corporate communications," says director Reto Waser.

Responsible at Element P: Michèle Zweifel (Project Management), Rita Kopp (Administration), Reto Waser (Screenplay, Director, Editor), Daniel Reichenbach (Photography: ), Stefan Vogel (3D, Compositing), Mirco Rihs, Roger Grisiger, Fabio Jenzer (Technicians).
