PR-KFS: scooter and motorcycle campaign for Stapo

PR-KFS developed this year’s prevention campaign for the Zurich City Police, titled «Smart Behavior = Stay in Line.» The campaign is aimed at motorcycle and scooter riders. Cartoons by Walter Hollenstein provide information on proper behavior.

The number of scooter and motorcycle accidents due to "snaking" through a standing column is steadily increasing in the city of Zurich, according to a statement. For this reason, the Zurich City Police is conducting a campaign from May to September - designed and implemented by the agency PR-KFS, Karl F. Schneider. In order to reach as many scooter and motorcycle riders as possible, PR-KFS is using comprehensive information media in cartoon style. The campaign subject, the handy brochure (info brochure), the poster, the e-board, the filler ad as well as the TV spot illustrate the dangers and at the same time draw attention to the legal situation.

With Yamaha, iXS and the TCS, PR-KFS was also able to win important partners again. These sponsor interesting prizes for the competition, including the main prize: a scooter worth 3'890 Swiss francs. In addition, prevention specialists from the Zurich city police will be carrying out educational work directly "on the road" at five planned outreaches of the mobile advice center.

The text association has finally replaced Script

Twenty-one of the association’s current 80 members attended the Textverband’s general meeting. President Roger Hausmann, who was re-elected to a two-year term, reviewed the transition from Script to the Textverband.

On May 16, 21 copywriters met in Zurich for the first general meeting of their "new" professional association, which celebrates its 31st birthday this year. What sounds paradoxical at first is quickly explained: In the fall of 2012, Script members decided at an extraordinary general meeting to dissolve and reorganize their professional association. That was the birth of the Text Associationwhich 80 copywriters from Switzerland and Germany have joined to date.

President Roger Hausmann and Managing Director Christoph Fuchs, who had implemented the transition from Script to Textverband in just a few months, opened the general meeting punctually at eleven o'clock, according to the statement. Accompanied by the ringing of bells from a nearby church for several minutes. But that did not prevent the president from leading the meeting swiftly from agenda item to agenda item. The members approved the minutes of the 30th Annual General Meeting and the Extraordinary General Meeting without any dissenting votes, as well as the annual report of the President, the association's accounts and the auditors' report.

No changes in the Executive Board

The board members are elected for two years. This year Barbara Sollberger, Paul Girard as well as Roger Hausmann had to be confirmed in office as board members and Roger Hausmann as president. The members did this again without any dissenting votes. The board of the Text Association is made up of six people:

- Roger Hausmann, Winterthur, Chairman
- Christoph Fuchs, Zurich, Managing Director
- Rinaldo Dieziger, Zurich
- Paul Girard, Winterthur
- Barbara Sollberger, Solothurn
- Robert Sulser, Hombrechtikon

Subsequently, the general meeting also confirmed the two auditors Anton Neuenschwander and Kaspar Silberschmidt for another year in office. The work of Claudia Scherrer, who was committed to her professional association as an auditor for many years, was thanked by the members with great applause.

Discounts and events

After the official part of the general meeting, Hausmann and Fuchs provided information about various discounts, for example on office supplies (up to 40 percent) or supplementary insurance policies from several health insurance companies (15 percent). The Text Association now offers its members daily sickness benefits insurance, with which they can save up to 65 percent, depending on the solution chosen. Membership, which costs only 150 to 200 francs a year depending on the term, is worthwhile in the truest sense of the word.

Finally, Hausmann informed about some events planned for this year. On August 8, the copywriters will celebrate a barbecue in Zurich, two creative workshops will take place in mid-September and at the end of October, and a six-part workshop series on "self-marketing" will begin in the fall, which Daniel Frei will moderate. All events are open to members and non-members.

Last but not least: Migros and the triplets

Migros is great at combining its advertising campaigns with articles in print media. A current subject on the front page of Saturday's Blick was particularly eye-catching.

The new Migros advertising campaign always includes a checkout slip:

In Saturday's edition of Blick, this checkout slip is even perfectly matched to the cover story. Here, one has probably thought about what is needed for triplets:

First thought? This can only be an M-Budget joke - cheap and poorly packaged. (uma)

Yahoo buys Tumblr for $1.1 billion

Now it's official: Internet company Yahoo is buying the blogging service Tumblr for $1.1 billion. Yahoo announced on Monday that the service will continue to operate independently.

Founder David Karp will remain Tumblr chief executive. Yahoo, he said, had made the promise to keep it
"not to mess up," it was said. One year after Facebook bought the photo platform Instagram, Tumblr is the next fast-growing Internet company to leave the market. The short message service Twitter and the photo service Pinterest are still independent.

Yahoo has been struggling with a decline in advertising revenues for years. Former Google executive Marissa Mayer, who was appointed CEO last year, wants to tackle the problem by focusing on attractive content and web search, among other things. She is also exploring several other acquisition opportunities, the Wall Street Journal said. (SDA)

The new film portrait about the city of Baden

With the support of the City of Baden, the film production company Avista spent two years creating an extraordinary portrait of the city. «People – City – Stories» premiered on May 16, 2013, at the Trafo cinema in Baden and is now available online.

At the center of the 20-minute film portraits are people, their stories and emotions. Various authentic short stories are used to convey the diversity of the city of Baden. Locals and guests tell their very personal stories and show what Baden means to them and to other people. Ten very different people get to the bottom of the "Baden spirit". Viewers are taken to their favorite places by the protagonists, experiencing different facets of the city and discovering one or two unknown perspectives.

More than two years passed from the idea to the realization to the finished city portrait. The search for "love stories" from the population was one of the biggest challenges of the project. "We wanted to find authentic stories that represented the diversity of the city of Baden as well as every age group. We owe it to the cosmopolitan population, who are known for their identification with our small town, that we were able to achieve this," says Thomas Lütolf, patron and head of location marketing for Baden.

"People - City - Stories is a good example of successful cooperation with business and the cultural scene," says Thomas Lütolf. Local companies such as ABB, Alstom, Axpo, the Grand Casino Baden, the Neue Aargauer Bank, the Müller brewery, Baden Cantonal Hospital, Regionalwerke Baden and the Schoop Group have supported the project and made it possible. The local companies are also one of the most important target groups for the new city portrait: "We want to give the companies a tool with which they can give their employees an understanding of Baden as a place to work and live in a personal, emotional and surprising way," says Thomas Lütolf. "

Just as there were good reasons for living and working in the city of Baden yesterday, there are also good reasons today and tomorrow. These reasons can change, which is why a city portrait must also be able to adapt. This was taken into account when creating the film portrait. This means that existing stories can be replaced or new ones added at a later date. According to Thomas Lütolf, it is important that the city portrait can develop in parallel with the city's history. Because Baden is constantly on the move, the film also wants to represent the city in this respect.

Tageswoche expands digital offering

Die Tageswoche is moving into the next phase: Following its launch, the digital offering is now being expanded. To this end, the editorial team is reorganizing.

The "online first" principle applies to the expansion of the digital offering: all content is recorded online and processed at a newsdesk, from where it flows into the newspaper or digital channels. Tageswoche wrote this in a press release on Friday. The digital offering is intended to provide comprehensive information on current events, particularly in the region, while at the same time further strengthening the weekly newspaper's in-depth and analytical character.

The community is also to be significantly expanded. Tageswoche wants to offer a platform to competent experts and thus supply its content with independent, external contributions. The change in workflows will be accompanied by a restructuring of the editorial management: Urs Buess, previously co-editorial director, will become journalistic director and take a seat on the newly established publishers' committee, with which the Foundation for Media Diversity intends to take a more active role in publishing. Buess will also work as an author.

Dani Winter, who was already involved in the conception of Tageswoche and most recently worked as a producer and online coordinator, will become Head of Editorial. Remo Leupin remains Head of Print. He will continue to develop the printed edition of Tageswoche.

The Tageswoche was launched on October 28, 2011 (Werbewoche.ch reported). The publisher is the Foundation for Media Diversity.

Ringier moves forward with verdict against Blick journalists

The Ringier media group does not accept the conviction of a *Blick* journalist by the Wil SG District Court. It is appealing the ruling to the St. Gallen Cantonal Court.

Riniger spokesman Edi Estermann confirmed a corresponding report in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung NZZ on Saturday. The district court had sentenced the journalist to a conditional fine of 60 daily rates on May 16. Two years ago, he had gotten a detective to obtain pictures from the police of two cab drivers accused of rape.

One of the pictures published in Blick showed a man who had been sentenced to five and a half years in prison in the meantime. The second photo showed his innocent brother. The single judge judged the procurement of the pictures as incitement to breach of official secrecy.

In the opinion of the Ringier Group, the Wiler decision could create a precedent. According to Estermann, any ""hard-researching journalist" would run the risk of criminal liability if he used more than official information. The Blick reporter had done his job to the best of his knowledge. (SDA)
