Contexta: Swisscom lets IT managers sleep easy

Contexta has created a B2B campaign for Swisscom to promote a flexible IT infrastructure that lets decision-makers sleep soundly at night.

The IT managers and CIOs of large companies are facing major challenges, according to the press release: The demands on the IT infrastructure are becoming ever greater and must be implemented in a short space of time and with maximum flexibility. Be it a new release of company software or - a completely new trend - the integration of private devices into the company network.

Swisscom's IT infrastructure should enable managers to implement their projects securely, quickly and successfully. The Contexta agency's campaign gets to the heart of this benefit: instead of spending the night shift in the office, the IT manager can relax in his own bed - and the CEO is happy that he can now use his favorite gadget in the office.

Ten years: Attica celebrates its birthday

On Monday, the 10th-anniversary issue of the Zurich magazine Attika will be published. While the magazine once focused on Zurich’s interior design scene, today it covers celebrities, lifestyle, and indulgence.

Today, it sees itself as "THE Zurich premium magazine", according to the press release. When the current publisher Urs Huebscher joined the company seven years ago, the magazine was given a new face. In 2012, the long-standing publishing and editorial director became publisher (Werbewoche.ch reported). "I recognized the magazine's potential," he says. The concept was changed, the content was continuously adapted to the ever-growing needs of readers and the distribution area was expanded. At the end of 2012, the magazine was given a new layout (Werbewoche.ch reported).

The demand for services from the Attica Magazine has led to numerous media partnerships and the publication of special editions. Recently, Air Berlin became another strategic partner. "The Attika magazine is available on departure in Zurich, spreading the flair of Zurich throughout Europe," says Huebscher.

Wunderman: Great cinema for Internet Explorer

Wunderman created a campaign for the new Internet Explorer on behalf of Microsoft: The sliding doors of Zurich's Metropol cinema play the leading role in the campaign.

In the campaign for Internet Explorer 10, Microsoft Switzerland is using, among other things, an international cinema spot with the song "Your Touch" by Blake Lewis. In order to play on the medium "cinema", so to speak, on the whole canvas width, Wunderman Zurich in cooperation with UM and Werbeweischer has occupied an extraordinary poster site, as the agency announced on Monday. The entire door front of the Metropol cinema in Zurich now clearly announces that there is a new Explorer.

The poster works just as smoothly as the new, more flexible and touchscreen-oriented Internet Explorer 10. When moviegoers open the sliding doors, parts of the poster disappear, but the meaning remains the same: With the new Internet Explorer, you can experience great things, even outside the movie theater.

Life Science Communication: Claire & George Hotelspitex

Claire & George combines the hotel industry with home health care to offer a unique service: hotel vacations with home health care support. Life Science Communication is leading the way in the conception and development of this business idea, as well as the implementation of its market presence.

Life Science Communication has designed the market presence and is responsible for the gradual national launch of the new service, which started last week with the launch of the web platform, marketing activities and national media relations. Sonntagszeitung, Schweiz am Sonntag, Schweiz aktuell and SRF have reported about the innovative service in the border area between health and tourism.

As a central aspect of the market presence, the agency created an image concept and a name that makes the service personal and multilingual: Claire & George personalizes the marriage of care and hospitality, so to speak. Claire stands for the caring side and George for the butler. "It is important that the customers feel addressed as vacationers and not as people in need of care," says Susanne Gäumann, project initiator and Bern site manager of Life Science Communication.

In the visual appearance, the focus was also on addressing the clientele not in terms of illness, but as people who, like everyone else, need a vacation and a little support to boot. Because we all need a vacation, not only from work, but also from everyday life, says Gäumann.

During the implementation of the website, criteria for barrier-free websites were applied. Special attention was paid to readability and simple navigation structure. The result is a Website, which in its simplicity and clarity is actually intended to break down barriers and appeal to vacation-hungry people of all ages.

Migros receipts have disappeared

The guerrilla campaign by JvM/Limmat caused quite a stir. The posters, which had been covered up as a «prank,» were restored to their original state on Monday evening, according to Migros.

The retailer Migros has pasted over posters of other companies with its own advertisements (Werbewoche.ch reported). The guerrilla action was supposed to be a joke. By Monday evening, the stickers will be removed again, as Migros spokeswoman Martina Bosshard told the news agency SDA. "We deliberately did not cover the companies' posters completely, but wanted to continue the stories the companies were telling," Bosshard said. She added that the Migros receipts were also easily removable so that the posters would not be damaged.

The campaign not only met with great interest on Werbewoche.ch, but also polarized on Switzerland's largest news portal, 20min.ch. "The fact that Migros is acting as a wild poster is unsympathetic. After all, the other companies paid a lot of money for their advertising space," 20 Minuten Online quoted Werbewoche editor-in-chief Pierre C. Meier as saying on Monday. If smaller advertising operators resorted to guerrilla methods, that was something different than if the largest advertising operator in Switzerland did it. As the numerous reader comments on the news portal show, the action is particularly polarizing among the population. While some interpret the pasting over of posters as "stinginess" or even "imperialistic behavior" on the part of Migros and demand the resignation of the management, others celebrate the idea as "unconventional," "clever" and "great.

The affected companies seem to take it with humor or indifference: According to SDA, they have been informed by letter at the same time as the action - there have been no negative reactions so far. "We hope the companies understand that it is a wink," Bosshard said. The promotion was limited to seven cities and about 25 posters. (hae/SDA)

Last but not least: Nations connecting vending machines

It is well known that India and Pakistan do not share the same stage. Coca-Cola uses state-of-the-art technology to break down borders in an amazing way.

We are talking about the "Small World Machines" - people-connecting drinks machines, one of which has been placed in each of the two conflicting countries. The people standing in front of the machine can see each other - and can connect with each other by performing movements together. The reward is a can of Coke for the two protagonists. According to Washington Post the machines will also be used in other trouble spots in the future.

It is obvious that the beverage manufacturer does not primarily want to improve the world, but first and foremost its own sales. Nevertheless - somehow you don't really want to be critical when you watch the movie below. The idea and implementation are too good for that. (hae)

SDA Group with profit decline in 2012

The SDA Group's net income for 2012 decreased by 30 percent from the previous year to 725,000 Swiss francs. Revenue increased by 12.3 percent to 39.7 million Swiss francs, primarily due to an expanded scope of consolidation.

Earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) in the SDA Group improved markedly by 59.6 percent to 2.24 million francs in the reporting year, according to the SDA Group's 2012 annual report published on Friday. Depreciation of property, plant and equipment and amortization of intangible assets more than doubled to 422'000 francs (previous year 182'000 francs). The consolidation of SDA Informatik as of October 1, 2012 had an impact here.

Amortization of goodwill and licenses amounted to CHF 2.29 million (previous year CHF 1.48 million). Due to the insolvency of DAPD News Agency and the termination of the contract for the supply of the AP service, the license had to be derecognized. Equity increased by 7.8 percent to 21.7 million Swiss francs. The equity ratio thus amounts to 70 percent. The SDA Group employed a total of 317 people last year.

The Swiss Dispatch Agency (SDA), Switzerland's national news agency, more than doubled its Ebit to CHF 664'000. Sales stagnated at 26.6 million francs. Below the line, a loss of 72'000 francs resulted (previous year -702'000 francs). In addition to the parent company SDA, the SDA Group includes Sportinformation (100 percent), News Aktuell (50 percent), the photo agency Keystone (40 percent) and the financial news agency AWP (35 percent). The annual report of the SDA Group is available at Sda.ch available. (SDA)
