"Allegra Rumantschs" inspires audience council

In the opinion of the SRG Audience Council, "Swissness at its best" was the radio special week "Allegra Rumantschs" in June. The Council also liked "Jazz in Switzerland" - but with reservations.

The audience council primarily observed the two daily one-hour programs in the morning and evening on both stations. The presenters presented the program in German and in Romansh. The audience council found this combination challenging, but it had its appeal.

In a diverse, informative and entertaining way, SRF 3 brought the German-speaking Swiss audience closer to the Romansh languages, the region and the culture, writes the audience council. It particularly appreciated the fact that Romansh was not presented as a "nostalgic relic," but that modern, young Rumantsch was given a chance to shine. The first two parts of the language region trilogy were "Chez les Welsch" in 2011 and "Buongiorno Svizzera" in 2012. The third part was broadcast from June 10 to 14.

"Jazz in Switzerland"

The audience council also gave a largely positive assessment of the three-part TV series "Jazz in Switzerland. It showed the development of this music in this country since the beginning of the 20th century. The series was both amusing and instructive. The fact that the music had been used in a rather illustrative way, in addition to conveying jazz knowledge, was perceived as negative by individual council members. They felt that the music had been neglected. Some also described the late Sunday evening broadcasting time as an "imposition". (SDA)

Sonntagsblick: Christine Maier becomes Editor-in-Chief

TV journalist Christine Maier will take over as editor-in-chief of Sonntagsblick effective November 1, 2013. Rolf Cavalli, who has been serving as interim editor-in-chief of Sonntagsblick since November, plans to focus on the online division as editor-in-chief of Blick.ch.

The former editorial director of the SRF discussion program "Club" and current presenter of the SRF news magazine "10vor10" will take over as head of Sonntagsblick as of November 1, 2013.

Rolf Cavalli, who has headed Sonntagsblick on an interim basis since November 2012, will once again focus entirely on the online division of the Blick Group as Editor-in-Chief of Blick.ch. Cavalli remains chairman of the editors-in-chief in the newsroom as well as head of all digital channels of the Blick Group.

Marc Walder, CEO of Ringier, on the new management structure: "I am extremely pleased that we have been able to win Christine Maier, one of the most established and versatile journalists, as Editor-in-Chief of Switzerland's biggest Sunday newspaper. As Editor-in-Chief of Blick.ch, Rolf Cavalli will, in addition to day-to-day business, primarily drive the digital development of the Blick Group and manage the associated change management in the newsroom."

Christine Maier studied law at the University of Zurich for five semesters after graduating from business school. She began her TV career at the age of 21, working in various capacities at Swiss television station SRF from 1987, and also at ZDF and Bayerischer Rundfunk between 1991 and 1998. From 1990 to 1995, she worked for five years in print journalism at Schweizer Illustrierte. In 2001, she joined the program "Zischtigsclub," later "Club," as editor and presenter, and took over as editorial director in 2006. Since summer 2011, Maier has been with the news magazine "10vor10." Maier is giving up her activities at Schweizer Fernsehen, SRF announced on Tuesday.

With regard to the editor-in-chief of Blick, the definitive solution is expected in the next few weeks, according to the statement. Marc Walder and Andrea Bleicher, who have been managing Switzerland's largest paid newspaper on an interim basis since February 2013, will take their time to settle the outstanding issues.

Druckerei Feldegg becomes Feldegg Medien

The Feldegg print shop becomes Feldegg Medien through a management buyout. Pieter Versluys takes over long-term management.

In a media release dated July 1, 2012, the Oberhänsli family announced that they had found an ideal successor solution for the continuation of their Feldegg printing company in Pieter Versluys. Since then, Pieter Versluys has successfully acted as CEO and will now take over the management completely in a second phase due to the retirement of the brothers Erwin and René Oberhänsli due to age or illness.

Pieter Versluys is making a financial commitment as part of a management buyout, thus ensuring that the company will continue to be owner-managed in the future. The management buyout was realized with the support of Comprinta partner Neidhart + Schön Group. Feldegg has been working with the Neidhart + Schön Group and other partners at the joint Comprinta printing center in Zurich-Schwerzenbach since 2010.

Two family members, Liz Rütimann-Oberhänsli and Rolf Oberhänsli, will remain with the company. Erwin Oberhänsli's succession has been settled, with long-time employee Frank Jähne having already taken over his duties as sustainability officer.

Pieter Versluys, an experienced manager with extensive prepress know-how, intends to develop the traditional printing company into an innovative and customer-oriented media service provider. For this reason, the Feldegg print shop is now called Feldegg Medien and, with the solutions it offers, stands for sustainably produced media, according to a press release. In addition to continuing to offer environmentally friendly, high-quality printed publications, customers will increasingly receive support from Feldegg Medien with solutions and packages in their entire production processes and also in the online area. A new appearance with a new logo is intended to underline this promise.

Advertising impact: Regional TV is ahead

Advertising on local TV stations is perceived as particularly high-quality. It is credible, informative, and appealing. This is shown by the recent study «Regional Monitor 2013» conducted by Blue Eyes Marketing on behalf of Belcom.

With its region-specific information and entertainment offerings, regional television is firmly anchored in everyday life. For advertising customers, however, it is in strong competition with national TV advertising due to its structural characteristics.

Local TV advertising is more effective in terms of quality. This is shown by the "Regional Monitor 2013" study. "Audiences rate advertising on regional channels as more credible, informative and likeable," says Markus Britschgi from Blue Eyes Marketing. "People watch regional television because it provides them with information from their region. They are open to news. This openness is transferred to advertising. A classic image transfer," says the market researcher and marketing consultant. "In addition, advertising on regional television is perceived as less disruptive than on private broadcasters."

Belcom has commissioned the "Regional Monitor" study from the market research agency Blue Eyes Marketing for the second time in succession. The study surveys brands of the "Tele Regio Combi" (TRC) advertising combination offered by Belcom, a merger of the six leading regional TV stations (Tele Züri, Tele M1, Tele Bärn, Tele Basel, Tele 1 and TVO). The aim of the study is to determine TRC's affinity with various brands. By surveying the brand triad (awareness, sympathy, use/potential), the affinities of viewers to the various brands can be identified. The Blue Mind psychographic segmentation provides additional information on the behavior and attitudes of brand sympathizers and users. "It is particularly useful for advertisers to find out the potential of their brand," says Britschgi. "In this way, they can target their advertising according to sympathizers and their viewing habits and exploit the potential of their brand in a targeted manner."

The result shows: Advertising on "Tele Regio Combi" is effective. It is perceived as 14% more credible on a regional TV station than on private TV (31% vs. 17%). In terms of likeability, too, the regional channels are 13% more convincing (33% vs. 20%). In addition, advertising on a regional TV station is perceived as more informative (34% vs. 23%). Furthermore, it is perceived as less annoying (59%) than on private TV (80%).

Facing: Redesign packaging Dynoptic

The Facing agency was commissioned to redesign Dynoptic's product packaging.

Dynoptic is an association of opticians in Switzerland that offers its own collection of contact lenses and care products. Dynoptic's range includes the two product lines Dynaeasy for lens care and Dynawell for eye care. All products were previously offered in single-color packaging. In addition, the products have been numbered consecutively to enable customers and sales staff to recognize them quickly, according to a press release. However, the colors of the numbers on the packaging were previously chosen at random.

Facing was commissioned to revise and update the existing packaging concept. The Dynaeasy product line clearly stands out from competitor products thanks to its black background. Facing retained the simple design of the packaging for the redesign. The packaging background remains black and the numbering of the products is still used. However, Facing developed a cross-number color coding, with each color representing a specific purpose. A green number indicates "all-in-one" products, a red number stands for cleaning products that need to be used with caution and a blue number indicates products that can be used for cleaning contact lenses on the go. The packaging for the Dynawell eye care product line was designed according to the same concept, but instead of black, the background of the packaging is blue and the numbers are white.

Responsible at Dynoptic: Thomas Wipfli, Chris Schellmoser. Responsible at Facing: Lucius Leonhardt (Management, Consulting), Anthony Solenthaler (Consulting), Roger Sandmeier (Creative Director), Isabel Aeschbach (Design).

Effective July 1, 2013, Tamedia will acquire a 75 percent stake in Starticket. Together with the existing management team, the company plans to further develop the Swiss ticket marketing firm and expand its collaboration with Tamedia’s various media outlets.

20 Minuten has already been offering its readers concert and festival tickets in cooperation with Starticket since 2010, according to a statement. Koch Kommunikation: New SFL website

Koch Kommunikation has created a new and unique website for the Swiss Football League (SFL) that is innovative in terms of content, design, and technology. Among other things, a statistics archive is being developed in collaboration with the soccer magazine Zwölf.

The SFL site, which went live on July 1, will focus on a variety of content, according to a statement. In addition to the clubs' websites, which are prominently linked as before, for example for further information, ticketing or merchandising, the league is focusing even more on self-produced preliminary reports, background information, portraits, behind-the-scenes stories (features) and offers a platform for the players, coaches and the many faces in the background.

The area of official league statistics is being greatly expanded. The new match center includes a much more comprehensive live totomat with live table and detailed statistics as well as the tactical lineups for all Raiffeisen Super League and Brack.ch Challenge League matches. These innovations will take full effect from the start of the season on July 13/14. In the post-match analysis, the match telegram will be supplemented during the season by a highlight video and short clips of the best scenes.

A real novelty will crown the statistics offer: On Sfl.ch is created in cooperation with the football culture magazine Twelve and supported by Raiffeisen, the probably most comprehensive publicly accessible historical online statistics archive on Swiss top-level football in the next few weeks.
