Leo Burnett: What your food eats, you eat too

Leo Burnett Switzerland created a Slow Food campaign promoting healthy eating and uses pill-shaped animals to illustrate the point: What our food eats, we eat too.

Media reports about chemical residues in food are now part of everyday life. In order to encourage people to eat food that is safe for their health, the Slowfood movement has been advocating organic, regional, seasonal, high-quality and artisanal products for years. This applies to production, processing and marketing. In collaboration with the Leo Burnett Switzerland agency, several images were therefore created to encourage the conscious purchase of organic food. The images show that when you eat meat or fish, you should think about what the animals were given beforehand.

Last but not least: Ho ho ho

These passengers were amazed: their Christmas wishes came true faster than they had ever dreamed.

The Canadian airline West Jet allowed passengers at Toronto and Hamilton airports to contact Santa Claus using a boarding pass scanner. He asked young and old about their wishes for the festive season. Everything from socks and toy trains to a big-screen TV was mentioned. The whole thing seemed like a non-binding chat to spread the Christmas spirit. In reality, a team from the airline was pulling out all the stops behind the scenes to fulfill the wishes expressed. The location of the hidden action: the travelers' destination airport. The viral chat takes on the traits of a Christmas fairy tale when the passengers are surprised with a special shipment of gifts while waiting for their luggage. The airline calls this logistical masterpiece "real-time giving":

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIEIvi2MuEk

Perhaps some of the guests were secretly annoyed that they had expressed a wish for new underpants instead of a fancy flat-screen TV. What exactly would have happened if a passenger had wished for a new car is written in the stars. With case films, it's better not to ask questions but to enjoy them as uncritically as possible. 13 million viewers in four days can't be wrong. (hae)

Wirz and Roadcross: Drunk new drivers

Novice drivers cause many alcohol-related accidents and will no longer be allowed to drink from 2014. Wirz organized a party with Roadcross Switzerland, where drunk novice drivers were allowed to drive legally.

Drunkenly fooling around new drivers are on the road by car. But then the unexpected happens: a doll appears in front of the car, which is traveling at around 40 kilometers per hour. The drunk driver reacts too slowly, and the car hits the doll almost without braking. Flung away from the car, it remains lying on the asphalt. The passengers are in an anxious mood: this is what it feels like to run over a human being. A month earlier, new drinkers from all over Switzerland had already registered for Drink + Drive 2013: A party with drinking alcohol followed by a driving test. The campaign is intended to draw attention to the ban on alcohol for new drivers, which will come into force in 2014. The background to the change in the law: new drivers cause an above-average number of alcohol-related accidents. They react too slowly when things suddenly become dangerous because they cannot compensate for the influence of alcohol with routine.

The campaign was developed and implemented by Wirz Werbung together with partners Jeff and Panam for Roadcross Switzerland. The event took place at the Driving Center of the Antischleuder Schule Regensdorf (ASSR), whose classrooms were transformed for one night into a party location with two bars, DJ, dance floor and chillout room. A film team accompanied the newcomers through the evening and the footage was used to create a prevention film. "The target group should experience as realistically as possible the effects of drinking and driving," says Valesca Zaugg, managing director of Roadcross Switzerland. "This is more credible than communicating with a raised forefinger." That's why they organized an event that mimics a normal Saturday evening - creating as realistic a situation as possible for new drivers. "We wanted to be present where alcohol is relevant in the lives of new drinkers: in the evening out," says Andi Portmann, Creative Director at Wirz. "So we were also able to use all channels of party communication: From flyers to tilllate photo spreads."

The progressive campaign then also attracted media attention throughout Switzerland as soon as it was launched. For example, Drink + Drive 2013 was covered by Joiz, Tele Züri, SRF, Radio 24, Argovia, Rouge FM, Sonntagszeitung, NZZ, Tages-Anzeiger, 20 Minuten in all three parts of the country and twice on the front page in German-speaking Switzerland. The various language versions of the preventive web film were viewed around 150'000 times in the first few weeks.

New Typo3 CMS

The Typo3 development team launched the new content management system, «Typo3 Neos,» this week. The new product focuses on intuitive usability.

For example, editors can use the new CMS to change content directly on the website via in-page editing without having to switch to the backend. The effects of the changes are then immediately visible. The developers have also attached great importance to responsive design. The user interface is designed to display websites in a user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing way from any end device.

The CMS is also optimized for use with touch devices, such as the Apple iPad. With multi-channel publishing, it also offers the option of creating new content and publishing it for various media with a single click. On the website, in the newsletter, the price search engine or social media such as Facebook or Twitter.

The previous Typo3 CMS is widely used in Switzerland, especially by medium-sized companies. Customers include Suisa, Biella, Omega, Crealogix, Beobachter, EMS Group, Luzerner Kantonalbank, Lindt & Sprüngli, Lista, Heks, Also Schweiz and the canton of Basel-Landschaft. The existing CMS will be further developed and expanded independently of the launch, as announced by the Typo3 Association.
