Co-Managing Director Bigliel leaves Politnetz

Thomas Bigliel, one of the two managing directors of Politnetz, is leaving the company. The decision to part ways was made by mutual agreement due to differing views on the company's strategic direction.

Sebastian Manthei will become the sole managing director, as Politnetz announced in a press release on Tuesday. Manthei previously managed the company together with Bigliel. Politnezt.ch, the platform for political discussion and transparency, was founded in 2009. It became known to the general public after it uncovered irregularities in the counting of votes in the Council of States: After several miscounts became known, the small chamber switched to an electronic vote counting system.

100 seconds Saas Valley

A few days ago, the Free Holiday Republic of Saas-Fee unveiled its new promotional video. Created by TV director Sven Fleck, the 100-second clip showcases winter in the Saas Valley.

In 100 seconds, the most important attractions and special features of the destination are highlighted. The aim of the film is to present the Free Holiday Republic of Saas-Fee and to raise its profile.

The image film was directed by TV director Sven Fleck. After a stay in the Saas Valley, the German was enthusiastic about the natural environment. Fleck already coordinated the program at numerous Formula 1 races and the show "Ich bin ein Star - holt mich hier raus!". Viewers will probably be familiar with the voice of the film - this is the German dubbing voice of Bruce Willis and Gérard Depardieu.

The image film is a further step in the destination's new marketing strategy, says Pascal Schär, director of the Tourism Academy. In addition to the image film, the destination is currently working primarily on its own news and reportage channel, Allalin TV.

Tutti.ch launches online magazine for Second Hand

Starting immediately, the classifieds portal will publish regular articles on the topic of secondhand goods. These articles highlight the ways secondhand items can be incorporated into everyday life and offer tips on buying or selling secondhand goods.

On Tutti.ch you can currently find over 300,000 advertisements with mainly used items. A treasure trove, even for unusual pieces. "For this reason, we want to provide more information about the possibilities of Second Hand," says CEO Francesco Vass. With the magazine Magazine.tutti.ch the company wants to contribute to a better image of used articles.

For this purpose, the blogger Marianne Kohler (Sweet Home Blog) was brought on board. She will give readers tips on furnishing and living with second-hand items. Video journalist Nadia Holdener, former host of the show "trash up" on Swiss television, is also on board. In her videos, she will show how, for example, you can make a cool wardrobe out of a used snowboard. The online magazine also has space for valuable tips. For example, what to look out for when buying a used bike or a stroller.

Design logo and win craft afternoon

To mark the launch of the online magazine, Tutti.ch is holding a children's painting competition. The logo of the classifieds portal may be creatively designed by five to ten-year-olds. The winning logo will then be published on the website for two weeks. In addition, there is a chance to win a craft afternoon with five friends and ten pencil boxes.

Weko closes preliminary investigation against Santésuisse

Under pressure from the secretariat of the Competition Commission (ComCo), the health insurance association cancels an agreement regarding customer advertising. The Competition Commission then closed the preliminary investigation.

In June 2011, Santésuisse implemented an agreement in the area of compulsory health insurance. It provided for the waiver of call center services, the reduction of compensation for brokers and intermediaries and the definition of quality requirements. While the regulation of quality requirements does not pose a problem under antitrust law, the analysis of the other two measures revealed indications of a possible restriction of competition.

According to a press release issued on Monday, the ComCo Secretariat is of the opinion that health insurers must have access to information. Only in this way can customers benefit from the best offers when choosing their health insurer and effective competition be maintained, as provided for by law.

According to the Competition Commission, a coordinated reduction in advertising and information for policyholders could have had a negative impact on premiums and market transparency. This would also have been contrary to the principles of the Health Insurance Act (KVG).

As Santésuisse canceled the agreement, the preliminary investigation could now be discontinued without consequences.

Clients benefit from the experience and methodological expertise of over 600 Léger Group employees.

He previously worked as advertising manager at Etzel-Verlag and was in charge of the magazines "Das Einfamilienhaus" and "Raum und Wohnen" as well as the magazine "Häuser modernisieren," among others. In his new role, he will look after customers in the Bern, Mittelland and Basel regions.

Last but not least: opposition leader as testimonial

Tchibo had planned to launch the «Fit with the Klitschkos» advertising campaign this week. It seems that no one involved in the production of the campaign commercial could have foreseen the events in Ukraine.

Tchibo wanted to advertise new fitness products with the prominent Klitschko brothers. In the commercial by Jung von Matt, which should have been broadcast in the coming days, the brothers praise products such as a skipping rope or a waterproof MP3 player. Following the bloody uprising, the company has now decided to stop the advertising campaign. The public will not see the commercial.

It is not known exactly how much money the company is deliberately throwing down the drain. The Klitschko brothers and the production had already been paid for, and most of the airtime had already been booked, according to the company. However, Tchibo is not removing packaging printed with the brothers' faces from sale. This can no longer be changed, they say.

Tchibo can apparently live with continuing to be associated with the opposition leader and does not necessarily fear any damage to its image. Rather, it would simply be inappropriate at this time to present Vitali Klitschko jumping rope. (sis)

Spina's Civil Voices: Action spot for the Pfadi

The Scouting movement has been around for over 100 years. While countless other things that came into the world at the same time have quietly faded away, Scouting, with its more than 40,000 members, still stands strong in the natural world.

Well, like an A with a small 2 on the back! Because other leisure activities, other sports and a different zeitgeist have taken their toll on the good old Pfadi. For the boys and girls of today, the Pfadi has lost places on the ultimate coolness list.

To get the Scouts back into the conversation among 8- to 14-year-olds, the advertising agency Spinas Civil Voices has developed an adventurous cinema spot for the Swiss Scout Movement. In a mixture of Winnetou, Frodo and Indiana Jones, a small Pfadi chases light-footedly through the forest, while his adversaries stumble and fall by the wayside.

Responsible at Pfadi: Andrea Adam (Head of Communications), Martin Knoblauch (Head of Fundraising). Responsible at Spina's Civil Voices: Matthias Freuler, Miriam Fischer, Tom Malecha (creation), Mareike Biegert (consulting), Meier Productions (production), Alexander Meier (direction), Tom Malecha (camera), Jingle Jungle (sound design), Lorenz Spinas (overall responsibility).

Newsnet and Sonntagszeitung launch data blog

On Sunday, Newsnet—comprising the news portals of the *Tages-Anzeiger*, *Bund*, *Basler Zeitung*, and *Berner Zeitung*—launched a new data blog in collaboration with the *Sonntagszeitung*. Its goal is to gain new insights from data.

Numbers and statistics have become the currency of public communication and seem to be everything that humans are not: objective, exact and infallible. "Data, processed into diagrams, interactive graphics or maps, are not only nice to look at, the viewer learns something and, at best, has fun doing it," says data blog project manager Marc Brupbacher in a statement on Monday.

The blog wants to gain new insights from data. "Findings that are perhaps too political for scientists and too sensitive for politicians. We bring these figures to the public in a new form and make them accessible to readers," adds Brupbacher.

The data blog delivers data stories from the subject areas of culture, business, digital, science, society, politics and sports. Journalists from Newsnet and the Sonntagszeitung will contribute visualizations, charts and applications to the blog, sometimes in a playful, sometimes in a classic way. Larger investigations are planned, but also daily topics will be taken up.

The aim is to take a critical look at statistics, uncover cases of data misuse or flawed methodology, and expose those who refuse to provide data. Readers can actively contribute - be it in the form of suggestions for improvement, criticism or topic input.

ABG criticizes sponsorship agreement between university and UBS

In its interim report, the Education and Health Oversight Commission (ABG) of the Zurich Cantonal Council criticizes the sponsorship agreement between the UBS Foundation and the University of Zurich.

UBS is funding the expansion of research in economics with 100 million francs. The sponsorship contract was only disclosed after pressure from journalists at Woz and Die Zeit.

There is a need for a uniform regulation for the university-related institutes as well as a regular review of such contracts by the government and the cantonal council, the ABG now demands on Monday. The freedom of research and teaching is "not directly restricted" by the present contract. However, the contract has shortcomings, said commission president Hans-Peter Portmann to the news agency SDA. It is not comparable with other sponsorship contracts.

Uni must answer questions and create guidelines

The newly established university-affiliated institute of the UBS Foundation would be granted considerable rights and opportunities that raise questions regarding content and personnel law. These questions would now have to be clarified on the basis of clear regulations that apply to all university-related institutes in the individual faculties, according to the statement.

The comprehensive guidelines promised by the university management and the university council would have to be put into effect quickly. Subsequently, it must be examined whether the UBS sponsorship agreement contradicts these guidelines in individual points, for example with regard to advertising, writes the ABG.

As soon as the university has answered the ABG's questions, the subcommittee will resume its work and prepare the final report. It is not yet clear when this will be available. The university must revise its rules and regulations, and the ABG cannot set a time limit for it to do so, Portmann said. However, he expects the process to be completed this year.

The University of Zurich did not yet want to comment on the interim report. They want to do their homework first and wait for the final report, said media spokesman Beat Müller when asked by the news agency SDA. (SDA)
