Business is changing - and so is Swisspartners. Only a forward strategy and innovative services will remain relevant in the future. According to studies by Deloitte and KMPG, in five years' time, attributes such as reputation and brand quality will be top priorities for wealthy clients. The usual values such as stability, performance and service will be assumed.

In collaboration with the agency Foundry, Swisspartners has developed an appropriately relevant positioning and a modern corporate identity. The result is an appearance that consistently conveys the development of the brand and its professional uniqueness to all target groups. The DNA of Swisspartners in a nutshell: The Art of Finance.

Art is an attitude. Swisspartners has been employing, discovering and supporting artists out of conviction since its foundation 25 years ago. Kristian Bader, member of the Executive Board, explains, "Our definition of art denotes a specific skill skillfully applied through a great deal of experience and innovation, for example, the art of foresight, the art of networking, and so on." Swisspartners lives the art it promotes.

"L'art pour l'art" does not apply here - this is shown by the design of the new appearance: Swisspartners' definition of art is the basis of the new Brand Asthetics and all upcoming implementations. Image brochures, advertisements, events, the new online presence and the new meeting rooms are designed according to this principle. The newsletter "partners' view", which has been popular for 25 years, has also been redesigned in the same way. It reports in a professionally differentiated way on current trends in the industry.
On the afternoon of September 3, 2016, the first major event under the new positioning is scheduled: Swisspartners will support the Tonhalle Orchestra for the tonhalle@maag initiative at a one-off event in Zurich's Bahnhofshalle.

The basis for the future has been created. The upcoming measures stage Swisspartners' new positioning. They prove that the new generation of financial advisors knows how to combine the art of discretion and the art of innovative communication.

Facebook declares war on ad blockers

Facebook plans to use technical measures to circumvent ad blockers in the future. At the same time, the world's largest social network announced new tools that will allow users to decide for themselves which ads they want to see and which they don't.

fb-adblock

Facebook manager Andrew Bosworth acknowledged in a blog post that there are currently many bad online ads. "Ads that obscure content we want to read, ads that increase load times, or ads that try to sell us things we're not interested in." Facebook wants to remedy this, he said. Users would be provided with advanced ad settings. For example, if users aren't interested in cats, they shouldn't receive ads for cat food in the future. Facebook did not disclose how the undoing of ad blockers will work technically. Bypassing the ad blockers affects the use of Facebook on a desktop computer or laptop. Such blockers do not currently play a role in Facebook's mobile apps.

Criticism of providers

Facebook manager Bosworth also criticized the practice of ad blocker operators collecting money for allowing previously blocked ads. "At best, this practice creates confusion, but it also lowers the resources needed to fund journalism and other free services we use on the Internet." Facebook is among those free services, Bosworth said.

Advertising revenue is by far the most important source of income for Facebook. They brought the company $6.2 billion in the second quarter, 62 percent more than in the same quarter last year. At the same time, the number of people worldwide with ad blockers has more than tripled in the last two and a half years.

Threat also for media

The blocking of online advertising by apps like "Adblock Plus" is also a thorn in the side of many media companies, because if everyone has an ad blocker, the advertising customer no longer pays. How many Internet users in Switzerland use a Bocker is not known. In Germany, the figure is around a quarter. As part of a survey conducted by the news agency SDA last fall, the media company Tamedia said that adblockers were still less widespread in Switzerland than in other countries. The Grisons-based media house Somedia estimated the proportion of readers with ad blockers at less than ten percent. But in this country, too, the programs seem to be becoming more popular: Readers are installing adblockers to an increasing extent, said the NZZ. And Ringier wrote that adblocking was a challenge that would occupy the publisher even more in the future. In Germany, the Axel Springer publishing house caused a stir last October. It automatically blocked editorial content on the Bild.de portal for users with ad blockers. (SDA)

Westiform makes wave 7 shine

At Bern PostParc station, a focus on dining, business, education, and shopping is now on display across approximately 10,000 square meters and eight decks. Westiform is providing signage for the impressive building, both inside and out.

westiform2

Welle 7 - easily accessible from Zurich or Geneva, located in the heart of the federal capital, the concept center now offers a wide range of opportunities for shopping and enjoyment, for working in the workspace or for learning for the inquisitive. A state-of-the-art concept center that leaves no (commuter) wishes unfulfilled.

westiform1

Westiform advised the Welle 7 project team on the building signage and was responsible for the survey, planning, engineering, production and installation of the exterior and all interior signage, as well as its maintenance in the future.

westiform3

Thomas Meyer, project manager at Welle 7, appreciated the cooperation with Westiform above all for the enthusiasm for the project, the short production time, especially for prototypes, and the uncomplicated assembly during the construction phase. He adds "through many other joint projects already, an appreciative relationship of trust developed, which enabled optimal solutions." The goal was for the signage to reflect what the Welle 7 tenants represent in their spaces. Above all, also outside of the store opening hours. Westiform was able to offer us the ideal products for this," says Meyer.

westiform4
westiform5

The roof lettering shows passers-by the way to Welle 7 by day and night and, with a length of 6.4 meters and a versal height of 1.7 meters, cannot be overlooked. In the interior, 39 illuminated letterings were produced by 27 different tenants, which were implemented with one of Westiform's own developments, the wf | Sirius illuminated lettering. The illuminated letters have a low construction depth of only 34 millimeters and have a service life of approx. 50'000 operating hours. A software-controlled LED assignment enables homogeneous illumination while using as few LEDs as possible. The combination of the outstanding features in terms of energy consumption, homogeneous light distribution, luminosity and the slim design makes the technology unique. All WF | Sirius elements were manufactured in the Westiform factory in Niederwangen near Bern in Swiss quality workmanship.

westiform6
westiform7

Thomas Meyer emphasizes that responsible action is an integral part of corporate management at Migros. This is confirmed not least by numerous awards, such as being the most sustainable retailer in the world. It is therefore not surprising that the energy-efficient LED technology from Westiform was used for all illuminated advertising elements. The luminous intensity of the illuminated advertising is also dimmable via a remote control and can thus be ideally adapted to the ambient light. The entire Welle 7 complies with the Minergie standard.

westiform8

In addition to the energy efficiency and brilliance of the illuminated advertising elements, the project schedule is also impressive. The project was implemented in just six weeks from the award of the contract to the final installation. Accordingly, Thomas Meyer's overall assessment is positive: "We are very satisfied with the consultation, the implementation as well as the installation of Westiform and are convinced that this will also continue with low maintenance costs."

Last but not least: Good move

Hach. Subaru surprises with a beautiful commercial.

subaru-spot
In this country, people tend to associate the Subaru car brand with Bernhard Russian down-to-earthness. But apparently a Subaru can also seduce you into dreaming. Because it opens the door to freedom. Or something like that. As long as you're not behind the wheel, daydreaming is no problem. The agency Carmichael Lynch from Minneapolis promotes the 2017 Subaru Outback. The song is called by the way "Land of Dreams" by Langhorne Slim. But please don't listen while driving. (hae)

The 26-year-old Cyrill Rüegger studied political science and communication at the University of Zurich and recently graduated with a master's degree. In his master's thesis, he investigated how border proximity affects the Euroscepticism of the Swiss. He can now profitably contribute his competencies to Salcom.biz, as the agency is strongly active in regional management and in the cross-border environment for small and medium-sized enterprises. Especially as the office manager of the regional planning group Kreuzlingen, Roman Salzmann and his company are confronted with political and cross-border issues.
