Tamedia confirms ombudsmen in office

The board of directors of the Swiss media group Tamedia has reappointed the two ombudsmen, Daniel Cornu and Ignaz Staub, to their positions.

Ignaz Staub will continue to be responsible for Tamedia's media in German-speaking Switzerland as well as for 20 minutes and 20 minuti, while Daniel Cornu will remain in charge of Tamedia Publications romandes media in French-speaking Switzerland. This was announced by Tamedia in a press release on Tuesday.

Daniel Cornu can look back on a long career in journalism, including as editor-in-chief of the Tribune de Genève. After his retirement, he passed on his experience to young journalists as director of the Centre romand de formation des journalistes CRFJ and taught media ethics at the universities of Neuchâtel and Geneva. After being appointed ombudsman of the Tribune de Genève in 1998, he took on this role in 2007 for all other media of the former Groupe Edipresse in Switzerland, which are now published by Tamedia Publications romandes.

Ignaz Staub has headed Tamedia's ombudsman's office for German-speaking Switzerland since 2010. He began his career in journalism as a freelance sports reporter for Swiss radio and television before joining Tages-Anzeiger in 1987 after working for Weltwoche and Schweizer Illustrierte. During his more than twenty years at the Tages-Anzeiger, he was head of the foreign department and reported as a correspondent from the Middle East and the United States of America. He is a member of the Organization of News Ombudsmen (ONO).

Tamedia's ombudsmen receive complaints about editorial and commercial content relating to Tamedia publications. As independent individuals who are not bound by instructions, they contribute to the quality assurance of Tamedia's media. All submissions are treated confidentially and responded to within 60 days.

Rau designs spring/summer campaign for Bernie's

There’s a breath of fresh air at Bernie’s. To coincide with the reorganization of its Zurich location—which now features three stores (Bernie’s Donna, Uomo, and Furore Uomo) around Löwenplatz—the company is focusing on a design that’s sure to catch the eye.

The motif of the new spring/summer campaign are drawings by the internationally renowned New York fashion illustrator and artist Richard Haines, which were produced exclusively for Bernie's. Haines also draws for the online shopping portal Mr. Porter and runs his own blog "What I saw today". Among other things, he draws for the online shopping portal Mr. Porter and runs his own blog "What I saw today".

The campaign was realized by Rau Werbeagentur, which was already responsible for the "architecture campaign" for New Bernie's Fashion in the previous year.

The subjects are staged by Rau in advertisements, customer mailings/cards and at the POS. The three-dimensional communication agency Hauser & Partner is responsible for staging the campaign in the shop windows of Bernie's stores. Highlights include oversized images of the motifs on the façade of the Zurich "Glashaus" (Bernie's Furore store) on Löwenplatz.

Alpha 245 for Goldbach: The future is so yesterday

Alpha 245 created the campaign for Goldbach for this year's Goldbach Mediarena and Award Night. Event motto: The future is so yesterday.

No sooner do we know how to check in on Foursquare, what the Harlem Shake is, or how to check our social media score on Klout than it's all yesterday's news, even the day before yesterday. New things are taking the place of outdated trends. Reason enough for the Goldbach Group agency Alpha 245 to create not only the campaign, but also the event motto around the very latest trends: the Goldbach Mediarena and Award Night.

The Goldbach Group is promoting this year's Mediarena and Award Night 2014 with confident statements under the motto "The future is so yesterday". So whether you're really such a cool pike, for example, if you put a hashtag in front of each of your words, you'll find out on May 15 at Zurich's Kaufleuten. That's also where the Crossmedia Award will be presented - of course, only to those campaigns that are anything but yesterday's news.

Ads, invitation mailing and Microsite are not from yesterday, but highly topical - because the campaign is now on air. By the way: There are still free places, register now.

Advico Y&R: Fresh image for dental implants

Straumann, one of the world's leading manufacturers of dental implants, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. To mark this special occasion, Advico Y&R has developed a new global brand positioning in collaboration with the company.

140117_STMN_Inserat1

The 360° campaign focuses on the editorial black and white imagery. In this world, people of all ages and social classes move carefree and confidently in everyday life - thanks to Straumann implants, of course. The imagery runs through all image and sales brochures and is intended to underline the qualitative added value of Straumann implants.

140117_STMN_Inserat19

According to the press release, the company has deliberately turned its back on the sometimes somewhat unapproachable and artificial world of medical image brochures: instead, Straumann should be perceived as honest, direct and authentic. And so the design has also done without any showmanship so as not to distract from the essentials. Ultimately, patients should be able to find the right products quickly and easily.

Responsible at Straumann: Frank Hemm (Executive Vice President, Head Customer Solutions & Education ), Andreas Utz (Head of Customer Marketing), Susanne Breuer (Head of Creative Agency), Claude Haering (Polygraf), Steven Gravino (Graphic Designer), Maya Dzakulin (Media Coordination Manager). CRB builds on Vizner Borel

The standard items catalog of the Swiss construction industry is now also available online. Vizner Borel promotes it.

With the NPK Navigator, the Swiss Central Office for Construction Rationalization CRB is launching the standard items catalog NPK, the standard work for the construction industry, as an online version. This gives planners and contractors greater flexibility, easier handling, convenience and mobility when accessing over one million standard items. To make the Online version To promote this important and widely distributed work, the Zurich agency Vizner Borel was commissioned to develop a direct marketing campaign. The mailing was designed in exactly the same style as the previous volumes of the NPK. This is because planners and contractors have been familiar with the simple, clear design of the service items for years and appreciate the regularly updated content and unchanged appearance of this indispensable work tool.

TBWA: Sex education for parents

TBWA\Zurich's new awareness campaign for Pro Juventute on the topic of sex education calls on parents to also address the online sphere when educating their children.

Parents today face an additional challenge when it comes to sexuality education. Digital media expose children and young people to new risks when it comes to sexuality. Pro Juventute's experience shows: Many parents are not aware of how quickly their children end up at the wrong address on the Internet and are confronted with sexual content. This is because, in contrast to conventional sex education topics such as 'contraception', today's parents of teenagers are not familiar with online communication from their own youth, and there have been no corresponding information campaigns in Switzerland to date.

The new awareness campaign calls on parents to also address the online area when educating their children and to show them that they can get support for this from Pro Juventute Parents' Counseling. The TBWA\Zurich key visual therefore clearly shows that children can come into contact with cybersex topics quickly and unprepared on the Internet. Because online, child-friendly and sexual content are often just a click apart. In addition to posters, ads and fact sheets, an animation of the key visual is used in the social media channels. The campaign can be seen throughout Switzerland until the end of May.

Wirz: Furniture surprises customers

Thanks to its cooperative structure, Mobiliar shares its success with its customers. This year, approximately 140 million Swiss francs will be returned to all Mobicar and Mobipro policyholders. Wirz has produced the campaign for this initiative for the fifth time.

As in previous years, the special service is symbolized by a package. In 2014, four TV commercials as well as posters and advertisements focus on the moment when Mobiliar customers are surprised with their package.

Accompanying the campaign, an unusual promotion proves how unusual it is to get money just like that: For this, actors in Zurich and Geneva randomly offered 100-franc bills to passersby on the street. Their reactions were filmed on hidden camera. Wirz CD Thomas Kurzmeyer comments: "Fortunately, we had correctly assessed our compatriots and practically no one wanted the money. Our message "Only mobile customers are used to getting money just like that" was thus impressively confirmed by real life."

With the filmed reactions also still an on-line competition "the 100 franc test" was realized. At Mobi.ch/quiz can be guessed who will accept the money and who will not.
