Rushed passerby fined with sleeping ticket

On Pentecost Saturday, speed cameras were set up in downtown Zurich. But for once, it was the pedestrians—not the drivers—who had to slow down. The agency Match Communications was behind the campaign.

On Saturday, rushed Zurich passers-by were given a "sleeping note" by sexy policewomen and cool policemen. This is a gentle invitation to relax at the 4-star Hotel Adula in Flims and is also a voucher worth 40 francs. The promotional action received great attention and excellent conversations arose with the stunned passers-by, it says in a statement on Wednesday. The campaign will be continued in other cities during the summer.

Responsible at Hotel Adula: Corina Scheidegger. Responsible at Match Communications: Christian Staub, Roland Sennhauser, Michaela Döbeli.

Initiative launched to abolish Billag fees

A petition to abolish the Billag fees has been circulating since Wednesday. The Federal Chancellery has published the text of the popular initiative to abolish radio and television fees in the Federal Gazette.

The initiative wants to ban subsidies for radio and television stations. No reception fees may be levied. In peacetime, the federal government should not be allowed to operate its own radio and television stations. For this purpose, concessions are regularly auctioned off to private companies. The initiative must be implemented by the beginning of 2018 or, if the vote is held later, at the beginning of the following year.

The initiators now have until December 11, 2015 to collect the 100,000 signatures required for the initiative to come to fruition. The collection deadline for another initiative, which also calls for the abolition of radio and TV reception fees, expires on May 12, 2015. (SDA)

Renzen: New appearance for Offertube.ch

The agency developed a corporate design for the startup Offertube—an online platform where clients and service providers can easily find each other and do business together.

Renzen advised the still young company in various strategic areas and designed and implemented various measures: from the logo and mailings to presentations, web banners and other online activities, everything was redesigned from a single source. A CGI image (Computer Generated Imagery) was used as the key visual, showing a somewhat perplexed, lost-looking person in a confusing forest of offers. The answer to the question: "Looking for the right offer?" is of course: "offertube.ch - offers that fit."

Client: Offertube. Responsible at Renzen: Hanno Lietz (CD/text), Achim Kaufmann (AD), Luca Pibiri (consulting/strategy). Photography/CGI: Istvan Vizner, Visualeyes Artists.

Last but not least: Men are victims of advertising

In a press release, the Swiss Fair Trading Commission presents the complaints it received and had to review last March. Gender discrimination was a particularly contentious issue—especially when it was directed against men.

False or misleading price information is often the subject of complaints, the press release announced on Wednesday. They are clearly unfair - and can even be prosecuted by the cantonal police authorities. A company cannot get out of the noose simply by correcting the false information in links, star notices or general terms and conditions.

Another perennial issue among advertising consumers is gender discrimination. However, the Fairness Commission did not approve a single one of these sexism complaints. It is striking that in two of the three complaints dealt with, the man is the alleged victim. A Nivea Christmas ad is accused of sexism because no father is involved in the idyllic Christmas scene. And a Nivea deodorant commercial received a complaint because it presents the woman as stress-resistant while the man slumps limply onto the sofa. Was this a blanket attack on emancipation? Or rather against Nivea in general? In any case, the accusations are very far-fetched.

Here are the discredited Nivea clips:

Alpha 245: New TV commercial for Radio 24

Alpha 245 created a radio spot on behalf of the local radio station. In keeping with the tagline «Das isch Züri,» a countdown featuring the number 24 was devised for the radio station, taking listeners on a journey through the entire city.

Famous places, localities, personalities and topics throughout Zurich each represent a number. All the way up to number 24, which stands for Zurich's local radio station.

Radio 24's listeners have grown up with their radio. The aim now is to appeal to younger target groups, according to a statement from the radio station. The aim: a spot that does not pander to the young. Because one thing is now clear: the media-savvy generation cannot be lured in with a few casual slang expressions. But with an authentic image of Zurich - from Chreis 4 to the club scene to the sex club. That's Zurich for you.

Responsible at Radio 24: Marc Jäggi (Head of Program), Barbara Novak (Head of Marketing). Responsible at Alpha 245: Patrick Senn (text) Patrick Beeli (art direction), Diana Wick (creative direction), Sylvia Kohler (consulting), Erasmo Palomba (FFF), Pam Hügli (overall responsibility); Hans Kaufmann (director), Stories AG (production), Spacetrain (music).

Tele Züri becomes official TV partner of the Street Parade

The TV station and the Street Parade Zurich association have agreed a corresponding cooperation. Tele Züri will be the only German-language TV station to broadcast the parade live from Sechseläutenplatz on August 2, 2014.

The partnership between the Street Parade Zurich association and the Zurich television station includes the production of the official live broadcast from the 2014 Parade. Tele Züri will report directly from Sechseläutenplatz on August 2, 2014, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. The new location will enable Tele Züri to broadcast the best and most emotional images of the Street Parade from the middle of the action and with a direct view of a large stage at the Zurich mega-event, according to a statement.

With over 100,000 viewers and a market share of up to 27 percent in the advertising-relevant target group of 15 to 49-year-olds, Tele Züri was already able to generate record figures for the Street Parade broadcast last year. As the official TV partner of the Street Parade and the only live TV station in the German-speaking part of Switzerland to broadcast the event, a further increase in these figures can be expected, writes the media company.

The live broadcast lasts from 15:00 to 19:00, is produced in HD and hosted by David Karasek. A big summary "Best of Street Parade" will be broadcast by all three TV channels of AZ Medien (Tele Züri, Tele M1 and Tele Bärn) after the live broadcast at 19:20 with hourly repeats.

A sticky tip for the Swiss national team

To promote the new, ultra-strong Tesa ACX plus adhesive tapes in connection with the World Cup, Kreienbühl and Vogler developed a World Cup-themed campaign and a goalkeeper game for Tesa.

The ad shows that double-sided Tesa adhesive tape can also be valuable for a Swiss national team goalie. It also refers to the online game "tesa Goalie Game" at www.tesa.ch/goaliegame, where the effect of the adhesive tape is dramatized in a playful way. Anyone who uses the Tesa ACX plus bonus in the game suddenly stops all the balls.

The campaign will also be advertised with a Tesa Tape World Cup match schedule, which will be sent to all Tesa Switzerland partners.

Just in time for the start of the World Cup, Radio Zürisee’s new website is now live. In addition to many new features, the private broadcaster is celebrating the website’s relaunch with a big World Cup prediction game.
