Futurecom: For e-commerce companies, the post office is the place to be

When launching the newly redesigned website, Futurecom took the perspective of online entrepreneurs. The key question is: What are the pain points in your e-commerce business?

Based on concrete statements, the user is supposed to recognize himself in order to intuitively and quickly get to the content that is relevant to his needs. In addition to an archive of case studies and specialist publications, the site also features a self-analysis tool for e-commerce providers. With the help of this self-test, users can check their strengths and weaknesses as e-entrepreneurs and uncover sore spots. The evaluation provides concrete recommendations on how to close gaps in their offering and expand their own e-business. The core e-commerce communications team is convinced of the quality of the interactive tool: "The tool, which was developed in collaboration with Futurecom, is a real added value for the target group. The self-test is not only entertaining and informative, but also provides specific recommendations that help further."

Leo Burnett Switzerland: Tell Switzerland

Print moves. Even in the digital age. From October 2014, the Swiss Media Association will be proving this with a campaign by Leo Burnett, which will present print in combination with online as an emotional and highly regarded medium.

Numerous advertisements in Swiss newspapers and magazines will give everyone - from teenagers to grandmothers, from office workers to bankers - the opportunity to tell Switzerland something that moves him or her. The statements will be collected via the website sagesderschweiz.ch and the social media platforms Twitter, Instagram and Facebook (#sagesderschweiz). We publish a selection on Sagesderschweiz.ch and - heavily - in advertisements, of course. The statements for the first advertisements were determined in the run-up to the campaign by means of a street survey. Statements from celebrities were also included.

Eyeloveyou: Anniversary and new partner

The Basel-based agency Eyeloveyou celebrated its fifth anniversary and introduced Oliver Kirschbaum as a new partner.

Together with 200 invited guests, the anniversary was celebrated in a fitting manner. The theme of color was the focus - and as a highlight of the evening there was therefore a particularly colorful surprise in store. Because the agency has also grown: recently, the signing of Zoe Maritz as senior consultant and Christoph Merkt as graphic designer was announced. They add important expertise and a good network to Eyeloveyou.

The petition against the RTVG can begin

The Swiss Trade Association has until January 15, 2015, to collect the required 50,000 signatures for the referendum against the revised Radio and Television Act.

The referendum deadline for this and 23 other bills from the fall session of the Federal Assembly was published in the Federal Gazette on Tuesday. The revised Radio and Television Act introduces a system change: All households must pay reception fees—regardless of whether they own radio or TV sets. Companies with annual revenue of 500,000 francs or more will also be required to pay. As a result, the fee—currently 462 francs per household—is expected to decrease slightly. The change in the system is justified by the fact that radio and TV programs can now also be listened to and watched on computers, tablets, or smartphones. The Swiss Trade Association has already announced a referendum (Werbewoche.ch reported). He argues that small and medium-sized businesses have had enough of new taxes. (SDA)

FCZ women take men by the hand

The FC Zurich women's soccer team is being escorted by men. As they take the field for their UEFA Women's Champions League round of 32 match against ZNK Osijek, for once they are not being escorted by children, but by men.

The fact that footballers are accompanied to big games by so-called escort kids is commonplace today. Just as naturally, many women play their role as pretty decoration of football stars next to the pitch. In women's football, however, women are now the stars, even if they are much less in the limelight than their male counterparts. The idea of escorts was born out of the desire to draw more attention to women's football, as Michael Benz of the agency responsible, Michael Benz Kommunikationsberatung, told the SDA news agency on Tuesday.

fcz

The FCZ Women are particularly successful in Switzerland: They qualified for the Champions League for the sixth time in 2014 - "an unprecedented story in Swiss women's football," according to a statement from FCZ about the men's campaign. The FCZ players are now inviting men over the age of 18 to accompany them to Spiefeld when they arrive at Zurich's Letzigrund for the match against Croatia's ZNK Osijek on October 15. To find the right ones, the club has launched an Internet appeal.

Free tickets as a consolation prize

Applicants must meet three requirements: They must be at least 18 years old and live in Switzerland - and they must not be too tall, because the men have to fit into the UEFA shirt. Benz expected a few dozen applications. However, this number was already exceeded several times over on the day of the call: By the evening, 600 applications had already been received, Marion Daube, managing director of FCZ Women, told Radio SRF1's "Regionaljournal Zürich-Schaffhausen." Who will finally be the chosen ones will be decided by the team. But even those who are not chosen do not go empty-handed: Each applicant receives two free tickets for the game. Whether the campaign will be repeated in the future is still open. Applications are due by Sunday, October 12, at Companions.ch possible. (SDA/hae)

PWC study: Paywalls do not work

Although most segments of the industry grew last year, consumer magazines, newspaper publishers, and entertainment films are struggling with declining revenues. In the advertising market, mobile and interactive solutions are the key to success.

The challenges facing the industry and new payment models are revealed in the study "Swiss Entertainment and Media Outlook 2014-2018" by PWC Switzerland. Consumers want flexibility in terms of location, channel and end device. They want to be able to consume all content on all devices at any time. 77 percent of the Swiss own a smartphone: Mobile solutions are therefore the key to success.

Paywalls do not work

Online content is and will remain free. Many providers have introduced paywalls, but consumers do not accept this. Newspaper publishers in particular are therefore looking for new business models. "Pay with a Tweet", whereby the consumer receives desired products if he writes a tweet about them, or "bundling", whereby content from different channels on the same topic is sold in one package, are currently very popular.

"Mobile First" is the motto

Interactive and mobile: These are the buzzwords for the media and entertainment industry. Consumers spend 52 percent of their time with digital media on mobile apps. This opens up enormous opportunities for mobile campaigns, as target groups can be very clearly defined and individualized thanks to data analytics. Spending on mobile advertising will crack the CHF 100 million mark for the first time in 2014. "Interaction with users instead of mere distribution of content: This is indispensable for a successful business model today. Interactive television and new types of content specially developed for mobile devices will continue to change the television landscape," explains Bogdan Sutter, Head of Digital Transformation at PWC Switzerland.

Streaming is the future

Increasingly, it is not content that is being sold online, but access to it. The music market demonstrates this most clearly: Already in 2012, digital music revenues were CHF 21 million higher than revenues from physical products. "This trend will continue," says Patrick Balkanyi, Partner and Industry Leader Technology, Telecommunications, Infocomm and Media at PWC Switzerland.

M&C Saatchi: Global image campaign for DeWitt

M&C Saatchi will continue its work with the watch brand DeWitt this year as well. The plan is to revamp the global brand campaign.

The agency's task was not easy, according to the press release, and involved a double challenge: On the one hand, how is such a disparate target group from the Middle East, to Russia, to Asia alike, as well as in "old Europe" and in North and South America, to understand the Napoleonic heritage of the DeWitt brand? The founder of the company is Count Jérôme de Witt, a direct descendant of Emperor Napoleon 1. On the other hand, the communication should also significantly emphasize the excellence and modernity of the watches created by DeWitt. M&C Saatchi's "brutally simple" solution: the creation of a brand icon with the contemporary reinterpretation of the Emperor's torso.

The icon is used in communication with the headline "For the new Emperors" and allows to put in the spotlight the latest models of the brand DeWitt. The brand claim " Heirs of Napoleon " confirms the descent from the Emperor.
