Pizza for the green men

Food Jung von Matt/ Limmat explains why you should always have Hug baked goods in the freezer We Swiss are world champions at planning ahead. Safety is our top priority, not only in the big political arena, but also in small households. If an unexpected visitor bursts into the living room, we very quickly reach the limits of our hosting skills. "For such unpredictable moments, we recommend always having Hug baked goods in the freezer", advises Jung von Matt/Limmat with a cheeky wink. Slamming surprise
Jung von Matt's last campaign featured company owner Werner Hug in a broom cupboard and the headline "Hug is simply part of it". In a witty new campaign, the style is now cleverly duplicated and the small snacks in a practical baking box are advertised. They are ready to eat within ten minutes. As finger food for an aperitif, simply between meals or, if required, as a side dish.
Jung von Matt/Limmat has "dramatized these surprise visits, which could potentially strike anywhere, in a reduced, idiosyncratic way", as CD Alexander Jaggy puts it. People receive an unexpected visit from Martians. No problem: before the big star war breaks out, the green men are first sedated with freshly baked pizzettini. Even burglars who turn up unexpectedly love Hug's pastries. And if the lover is suddenly surprised by the husband, he no longer flees into the cupboard, but runs to the freezer instead.
The illustrations for these everyday situations were created by Viennese comic artist Nicolas Mahler. The operator of the comic vending machine "Brunftomat" and co-publisher of Edition Brunft in Vienna makes a living drawing comics for daily newspapers such as Der Standard and Die Presse and also regularly draws for the magazines Titanic and Strapazin as well as the former Das Magazin. Mahler is also the author of the book "Leicht beschädigte Tiere". Jung von Matt chose this illustrator because it quickly became clear that the bizarre nature of the subject matter could only be conveyed through illustration rather than photos. "Nicolas Mahler has the right figures for this," reveals AD Lukas Frei.
The posters have been hanging around shopping centers since March 14. At selected POS poster sites, the comics are enhanced with stick-on Pizzettini boxes. However, for reasons of shelf life, the packs are not filled with real frozen products these days, but serve decorative purposes as 3D elements.
When the aliens ring: Jung von Matt/Limmat believes that anyone who has Hug in their frigo will survive any surprise visit.
