RTVG: Another 33 million for fee splitting

The NZZ am Sonntag has calculated that radio and television reception fees could rise by almost 10 percent.

The reception fees for radio and television could rise by almost 10 percent - this was calculated by the NZZ am Sonntag. The reason: in addition to the SRG's financial requirements (see ), there are a further 33 million in costs for fee splitting. These would have to be raised in addition to the SRG amount. At the newspaper's request, Bernhard Bürki, media spokesperson for the Federal Office of Communications, confirmed the sum. This would mean additional costs of around 3 percent for fee payers - meaning that fees would rise by 9.5 percent to CHF 493 per year.

The Zurich advertising agency creates a new subject for the Peugeot 207: The 207 driving pleasure becomes even more intense.
The Peugeot 207 is a muscle pack. With the new XSi, fans of brisker locomotion now also get their money's worth. The newly developed 1.6 16V turbo engine with 150 horsepower impresses above all with its torque of 240 newton-meters.

So it's no wonder that the motif designed by Euro RSCG Zurich is a little firework of dynamism. The collage shows the 207 XSi in the middle of a fantastic world in which the intense driving experience is visualized. The advertising motif will now also be placed intensively: from mid-October in all well-known publications in Switzerland, as the agency announced on Friday.

New dimensions for advertising

From October 11 to 13, the first international trade fair for streaming and digital media, Streaming Media Europe, took place in London. It was organized by Information Today and chaired by Streamingmedia.com.

From October 11 to 13, the first international trade fair for streaming and digital media, Streaming Media Europe, took place in London. It was organized by Information Today and chaired by Streamingmedia.com.
One topic of the conference was the exploding online advertising market. It is becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of the countless options and platforms for advertising. As a study by MTM recently revealed, the difficulties for the optimal placement of advertising lie in the lack of standardization of rates and formats.

Some platforms have fixed prices, others work according to a pay-per-view scheme. In contrast to traditional media, the internet also offers an unmanageable variety of options for designing and launching campaigns. From complex, hard-to-grasp viral campaigns to static placeholders and bold, full-page Flash banners - anything is possible. But how should you decide?

At the two-day trade fair, speakers from leading companies from Europe and the USA formulated questions and presented successful solutions. Evan Cohen from MTM Londen and David Michael from Utarget, for example, argued that the focus should not be on the problems but on the opportunities. They considered audiovisual content to be particularly exciting, as it will add new dimensions to advertising with innovative interaction options.

SVP National Councillor Hans Kaufmann feels his honor has been violated by the media in connection with the Swissfirst affair. In the next few days, he will be filing a lawsuit against three newspapers, one of which is Blick.
As reported by Bilanz on Friday, the still furious businessman considers the reporting to be damaging to his reputation. "Blick lied, twice", the financial newspaper quotes the politician as saying. The defamation by the media caused material damage to the financial market specialist. By his own account, the former Swissfirst board member has lost two mandates completely and two others have been suspended. Kaufmann will therefore also demand compensation in addition to the criminal charges.

Blick does not wish to comment on the matter. It is not yet known which other two media outlets the SVP business specialist intends to sue. The three-month deadline for filing the criminal complaint expires in November.

The first pictures of the prominent women wrapped in a pink scarf have already been seen in various media over the last few days. On Thursday, the campaign against breast cancer was officially presented to the media at an information event at the Pyramid Clinic.
Ten years ago, Evelyn H. Lauder launched the Cancer Awareness Campaign in the USA - since then, October has been known worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is because too many women still die from breast cancer, even though the chances of survival are good if detected early - and the campaign aims to remind people of this.

Former Miss Switzerland finalist and current PR woman Fabienne Marchand and her team from FM Projects are now launching a campaign in Switzerland for the third time. The idea: 14 prominent women from Paola Felix to DJ Tatana are photographed wearing a pink scarf by Kathleen Madden. The scarf symbolizes the pink ribbon, the internationally recognized symbol for the commitment against breast cancer and for solidarity with those affected.

The Kathleen Madden scarf will be sold for 60 francs, with the proceeds from the sale going directly to two organizations that do valuable work for women with breast cancer: the international Breast Cancer Study Group Foundation and the Patient Forum. The scarf can be ordered via the Breast Cancer Communication website (see below).

In addition to Fabienne Marchand, Andrea Hofmann from Lichtenberg has also been involved in the campaign as an organizer and partner since this year. The two women have successfully fought for the cause and have been able to attract around twenty sponsors and partners for the campaign, from Norvartis to Weleda.

As the West Swiss daily announced on Friday, Grosjean will take over his position as deputy editor-in-chief Pierre Ruetschi from October 30.
More than twenty years ago, Grosjean began his journalistic career at the Tribune de Genève, to which he has always remained loyal. Early on, he turned to political reporting. First he wrote about current affairs in the municipalities, then about the canton, and from 1999 he was head of the domestic department and reported regularly from the Federal Parliament. Since 2004, the 43-year-old has again been in charge of the local section Genève Actualité and has now been appointed deputy editor-in-chief.

SRG wants 72 million more per year

In a report submitted to the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy, and Communications (UVEK), the SRG has requested an additional 72 million annually for the years 2007 through 2010. As a result, radio and television license fees could rise from 450 to about 480 francs per year starting in 2007.

In a report submitted by the SRG to the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC), the SRG announces an additional financial requirement of CHF 72 million per year for the years 2007 to 2010. This means that radio and television reception fees could rise from CHF 450 to around CHF 480 per year from 2007. The paper was published on Thursday after being leaked to the media, as SDA writes. SRG also provided information on its future financial requirements at a media conference on Thursday.
The additional funding requirement amounts to a total of CHF 136 million per year. SRG intends to save CHF 45 million and cover CHF 19 million through additional revenue - leaving CHF 72 million that would have to be financed through higher fees. The Federal Council is expected to decide on an increase in February; the decision would come into force in April 2007 at the earliest.
The main reasons for SRG's rising funding requirements are technical innovations and increased costs for broadcasting rights in sport. However, the new Radio and Television Act (RTVA) is also causing additional costs of CHF 17 million. The CHF 8 million that SRG will lose on the revenue side due to restrictions in the advertising sector is a significant factor.
In any case, according to Deputy Director General Daniel Eckmann at the media conference, it has become clear that advertising revenues have not increased despite the improved economy, which points to a structural problem.
