Last but not least: Dentists want more celebrities
The trend toward tabloidization and personalization is on the rise—and it doesn’t stop at dental journals. Due to high demand, the premium dental magazine Dentastic has now expanded its celebrity section.
A quick glance at the magazine confirms that even on the celebrity pages, the self-proclaimed "luxury magazine" provides expert information. In the October issue, for example, interested readers can find out how often the Miss candidates brush their teeth. A small flaw: in four out of a total of six pictures, no teeth can be seen - despite the smiles. Instead, all the Misses score points in a quiz with dental knowledge (click here).
Test your specialist knowledge with the original question from the booklet. Attention: Answer alternative c is particularly insidious.

Kick-off: German sports television DSF before Swiss comeback?
Is the German sports channel DSF making a comeback in Switzerland? The producers at DSF and Star TV are currently exploring a future partnership. Both networks confirmed this when asked.
DSF in Munich also confirms that constructive talks are currently being held with Star TV. However, no further statement would be made during the ongoing negotiations. DSF's involvement in Switzerland is almost inevitable, as the channel received many disappointed reactions from viewers in Switzerland after it was removed from the analog program offering.
If the two parties can reach an agreement, a DSF program window on Star TV would be possible this autumn. And with Christine Surer, a DSF-tested presenter with Star TV experience would already be on the runway.

Archi: Ticino architecture magazine in new hands
The Publishing Group of the Academic Technical Associations will take over the trade journal *Archi* effective January 2010. As a result, the subsidiary of the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects will now have a presence in all three language regions.
According to a press release issued on Monday, the takeover was made on the best of terms between all parties involved. The independent editorial team will remain in Ticino. The previous publisher, Edizioni Casagrande in Bellinzona, will continue to be responsible for printing the magazine. The SIA Ticino section will take a seat on the Board of Directors of the publishing company.
Publication organs of the SIA in all three language regions
Verlags-AG der akademischen technischen Vereine, based in Zurich, is the publisher of the German-language weekly magazine Tec21 and the French-language biweekly Tracés. With the takeover, the publishing house will be active throughout Switzerland in the three major national languages and will unite all official publication organs of the SIA. The unification of all three journals under one publishing house enables a valuable professional exchange across linguistic borders, as the statement continues.
The publishing company will present Archi at the Swissbau trade fair in Basel on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, and present the first issue under the new editorship.
