Editorial collaboration between Radio Basel and Radio 24

Radio 24 and Radio Basel are collaborating on editorial content. The two private broadcasters announced jointly on Tuesday that they plan to exchange reports. Among other things, a Radio 24 correspondent based at the Federal Parliament in Bern will also report on the Basel region from there in the future.

Radio Basel, once founded as Baselbieter Radio Raurach, could also take over business contributions from Sonntagszeitung editor-in-chief Martin Spieler. Like Radio 24, the Sonntagszeitung belongs to the Tamedia Group. The cooperation is not a cost-cutting exercise, said Radio Basel boss Christian Heeb when asked by the news agency SDA, but rather an "optimization": the cooperation between the two stations was an obvious choice. However, the exact modalities were not disclosed. According to a Radio 24 spokesperson, contributions from her station are also offered to other stations throughout Switzerland. Some made use of this, at standardized rates.

When Radio Basel was relaunched in the fall of 2009 following the takeover by Heeb, it had an editorial Cooperation with Zurich Radio 1 of the former Radio 24 founder Roger Schawinski. This cooperation is continuing, although it has been scaled back somewhat, according to Radio Basel.

Heeb, for his part, once co-founded Basel's first local radio station, Basilisk, which he later sold to Tamedia. The group rejected the transmitter againtoday belongs to Basilisk Matthias Hagemannthe former relocator of the Basler Zeitung. He in turn had sold Radio Basel 1, which had emerged from Radio Raurach, to Heeb, who turned it into Radio Basel formed.

Ringier relies on Landliebe

Ringier is launching a new family magazine in 2011. Called Landliebe, it will appear quarterly and focus on the original, down-to-earth country life.

The new magazine picks up on the desire for the countryside and the mountains. In times of loss of security and reliability, people are increasingly longing for the experience of nature, for a house in the countryside and for peace and security, according to a communiqué. The magazine is therefore not only aimed at the rural population, but also at city dwellers who may not even have their own garden.

Landliebe will appear quarterly and offer readers recipes from the country kitchen, tips for home and garden, living and decorating ideas, and photo reports. For the first time in years, cutting patterns will also appear in a Swiss magazine. "Patterns are again very successful in Germany," said Ringier spokesman Edi Estermann in response to a query from the SDA news agency. It will now soon be seen whether the Swiss will also jump on this trend.

Model Landlust from Germany

The model for Landliebe is the German magazine Landlust, published by Landwirtschaftsverlag in Münster. With a paid circulation of around 700'000 copies, Landlust is one of the most successful magazine launches in years.

Originally, Ringier wanted to publish Landliebe in cooperation with Landlust - but the whole thing would have been too complicated, according to Estermann. "There were long negotiations between the two publishers," he says, but the decision was made to go it alone. They had to realize that the regional differences would make cooperation difficult. For example, there are hardly any mountains in the German Landlust, but they are supposed to play a big role in Landliebe.
