Wilmaa and Teleboy launch "Swiss Internet TV Premium Network" platform

The two Internet TV providers, Wilmaa and Teleboy, want to promote and strengthen their industry. To this end, they are combining their reach and launching the «Swiss Internet TV Premium Network» platform.

The two offerings already reach over one million unique clients with only a small user overlap, according to the press release. The aim is to use this platform to create attractive offers for advertisers and reach large customer groups with little wastage. The platform works exclusively with the Goldbach Group for marketing purposes. In addition to marketing the overall reach of the participating platforms, new, independent advertising formats will be developed jointly. The platform will also strengthen joint generic marketing. The focus is on case studies on the advertising impact of Internet TV.

Last but not least: running shoes run

Advertising can inspire action. In Stockholm, passersby even ran across the street to receive a pair of sneakers from a Reebok ad.

The campaign is somewhat reminiscent of the timers that the police place at the side of the road to raise awareness ("You are driving at 31 km/h"). These also react to people running and provide entertainment accordingly - assuming sporting ambition and a good mood. In Stockholm, outdoor advertising met timepieces: anyone who ran faster than 17 km/h received a pair of "ZPump 2.0" sneakers as a gift. If you put your legs under your arms, you can do it. For comparison: a 100-meter runner reaches top speeds of well over 40km/h. So a feasible deal. Advertising that interacts with people, entertains them and ensures fun, games and happy faces can't be bad. (hae)

Peter Hogenkamp acquires majority stake in "Niuws"

About a year after the launch of the expert community «Niuws,» internet entrepreneur Peter Hogenkamp acquired a majority stake in Newscron, based in Lugano, as part of a management buyout.

He had already been working for Newscron for around two years as Managing Director and later Chairman of the Board of Directors. The number of shareholders was reduced from 26 to five. The well-known business angel Beat Schillig ("IFJ", "Venturelab" etc.) has joined the company.

Newscron founder Elia Palme will remain a shareholder and will continue to work for the company on a part-time basis on a transitional basis as well as privately developing the original aggregator app "Newscron", while Niuws will continue to focus fully on the combination of algorithmic and manual curation. The well-known network business journalist Martin Weigert will remain on board as "Head of Curation".

The company is also planning to change its name and relocate to Zurich in the near future, according to a press release.

In recent months, Niuws has acquired several well-known companies and organizations as customers who have licensed the technology and/or curation expertise, such as the SIX Group, AXA Winterthur, the Swiss Bankers Association, the Swiss Startup Factory and Zurich Tourism.

The number of curators who have a channel on a specialist topic in the Niuws app has grown to 60 within a year. Some of the most popular are "Media Change" by Nick Lüthi, "Future of Work" by Barbara Josef, "Digital Strategy" by Stefan Leuthold and "Random Selection" by Viktor Giacobbo.

Peter Hogenkamp on the management buyout: "After lengthy negotiations, I am happy with the solution that has now been found and would particularly like to thank the founder Elia Palme and the departing shareholders for their help in setting up the company. I am more convinced than ever of curation as a concept, especially the combination of algorithmic and human selection. We no longer see Niuws as "just" an app, but as a platform. Thanks to our lean structure, we will be able to act more flexibly and grow faster. Exciting new projects and personnel have already been announced for the coming weeks."

Process wins Rebrand 100 and German Design Award

The branding and design agency Process has won two awards: a Rebrand 100 Global Award for the new brand identity of the Swiss energy provider BKW; and the restaurant brand Marché Mövenpick won a German Design Award in Frankfurt.

The rebranding for Bern-based energy service provider BKW wins one of the prestigious Rebrand 100 Global Awards. The repositioning and design developed by Process were awarded a "Merit".

Unbenannt-7_130

Switzerland's third-largest energy supplier is transforming itself from a state-owned electricity provider into a customer-oriented energy service provider. The new BKW stands for less complexity, more emotions and clear, direct communication at eye level. Strong colors bring life into a very technical world. Complex things are explained with clear illustrations. A unique pictogram style is complemented by hand sketches that make information understandable in a very individual way.

German Design Award for Marché Mövenpick

At the award ceremony in Frankfurt, Process and Marché International accepted the "Special Mention" of the German Design Award (see picture and caption). According to the jury, Marché Mövenpick is "A contemporary gastro concept that expresses simplicity and a rural way of life with its formal-puristic brand design and is thus in line with the contemporary trend of an urban lifestyle."

Unbenannt-11_83

The Marché Mövenpick brand stands for enjoyment and sophistication. Thus, in the positioning, Marché values such as healthy, market-fresh food were supplemented with parts of the Mövenpick philosophy and transferred into a striking appearance. The formal reduction of the logo, the clear typography and the emblematic illustrations by the Swede Klas Herbert characterize the design.

New Schenker Blinds TV commercial from Schaerer + Partner

Schaerer und Partner realized a new TV commercial for the Swiss sun and weather protection company Schenker Storen.

Under the motto "At home throughout Switzerland", the short film shows Schenker Storen products as useful companions in all situations in life and focuses on the wide range of products and services as well as Schenker Storen's strong regional roots throughout Switzerland. The new Schenker Storen TV commercial was launched just in time for the turn of the year. The film crew traveled all over Switzerland for the shoot. The result was a high-quality and emotional "road movie" that shows Switzerland and Schenker Storen in all its facets. The services and areas of application of Schenker Storen are as varied as the locations and people: slat blinds, roller shutters, sun blinds, window shutters or patio roofs - they protect us from the sun, rain or sometimes even unwanted glances in our everyday lives.

A shorter version will be broadcast on the SRF, RSI and RTS TV channels in the respective national language (d/f/i).

Responsible at Schaerer and Partner: Andi Schaerer (overall responsibility), Simon Lerch (consulting) and Patrick Crivellari (concept and creation) in collaboration with Maybaum Film.

"Noiz" becomes a live broadcast

Joiz is giving its news program «Noiz» a fresh new look. The news magazine will now be live and interactive.

Since the end of January, the social TV station has been continuously adapting its programs. After the successful launch of the mobile-first strategy, the next step will be taken with the adaptation of the news program "noiz" into a live format. The "noiz" format, hosted by Philip Wiederkehr, will be live and interactive beginning Monday, February 29 at 6:00 p.m. "The young adult of today has something to say and wants to give his opinion space and be informed" - justifies program director Sam Bolliger the step in a statement. Joiz wants to follow this and gives the user the opportunity to talk directly together with the presenter about the daily news that concern him and the world. The studio will be placed in the heart of the Joiz office. It should be noticeable that the stories that interest the user and the editorial team are created and discussed here.

Ringier, SRG and Swisscom welcome the decision of the Uvek

The DETEC has decided that SRG can participate in the joint advertising platform with Ringier and Swisscom. The DETEC currently sees «no significant restriction on the scope for other media companies to operate.» The three partners are satisfied with the decision.

This sets the course for a media policy that takes into account the fundamental upheavals in the media world, according to a statement from the three alliance partners. Marc Walder, designated Chairman of the Board of Directors of the joint venture: "We are very pleased. The authorities have made a forward-looking decision. The use of media is changing radically. This applies to readers, to listeners, to TV viewers and users. This is also changing the way advertising is played out. The authorities are taking this dramatic change into account. This is a groundbreaking decision for Switzerland as a media and advertising location."

In a second ruling, Bakom states that the current license does not yet allow licensed broadcasters, including SRG, to broadcast target group-specific TV commercials in their programs (Werbewoche.ch reported). The three partners said in the statement that they recognized that the legal conditions in this regard would have to be examined and adapted. The foreign advertising windows and the few non-licensed Swiss TV broadcasters already have the possibility to broadcast target group-specific advertising. By adapting the regulation, the competitive disadvantage of Swiss broadcasters compared to foreign advertising windows should be averted. The three partners are "confident of keeping Swiss market players on an equal footing in competition with foreign broadcasters." The launch of the new marketing company is still planned for the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Noord develops naming for Entris Banking

Entris Banking will focus on "central bank tasks" in the future. Noord was commissioned for naming and development of two corresponding CDs.

After Entris Banking concentrates in the future on tasks such as trading & treasury, giro organization, global custody & fund trading, means of payment, Rasy EA, risk & ALM, procurement of purchasing advantages, and representation of interests, "Entris Audit" will become independent on the market as of 2016. In addition, the services Legal & Compliance, Accounting, HR Management and Marketing & Training will continue to operate in the new service company and will also operate independently in the market. Entris Banking Noord has therefore commissioned us to design the naming in a first step.

NOORD1
NOORD2

In a multi-stage process, Entris Audit became "Aunexis" and Entris Services became "Equilas". The design brief was that the names and images (logos) of the two new companies should be visually distinct from the old "Entris" brand. Together with the future management of Aunexis and that of Entris, the parameters for the new brand were defined.

Noord defined the basic structures of the brand in a manual and handed over the execution to the customer.

Responsible at Entris Banking: Nadine Grether. Responsible at Noord: Nicole Trasatti (brand concept), Lukas Schmid (naming), Katja Rüfenacht, Markus Reichenbach, Roger Mazzucchelli, Gerhard Blättler (design).

Corpmedia: Interactive visitor foyer for Swisscom

The storytelling agency and media production company Corpmedia, in collaboration with Bertram Bieler, was commissioned to redesign the public visitor lobby at the Swisscom data center in Herderen.

With the aim of making the building, which was designed by star architect Theo Hotz and is a listed building, its history and the technology it contains an interactive experience.

Bildschirmfoto-2016-02-29-um-11.08.24

The cloud is at home in Swisscom's data centers. After Corpmedia had already developed the visitor tour of the Wankdorf data center, the Zurich agency was now also called upon to bring the iconic building near the Hardturm to life for the public.

7C5A8093b

Using a specially developed app, visitors have the opportunity to rotate the building on giant touchscreens and view it from all angles, call up background information and have specific functionalities explained to them in short animated films.
Using a tablet, visitors can also take a look behind the scenes of the data center, and 360° photographs also provide a virtual view of the rooms.

7C5A8111

"This kind of live storytelling and interaction enables completely new dimensions" says Corpmedia's owner and managing director, Timo Wäschle. "It is simply a pleasure to see how visitors interact with our content and inform themselves independently. This is a huge step towards virtual reality" The Rechenzentrum Herdern is already open for visitors.

Publishers call for serious political discussion

In a statement, the Swiss Media Association (VSM) welcomes the finding by both the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (UVEK) and the Federal Office of Communications (BAKOM) that the proposed advertising market joint venture goes beyond the current legal framework.

The planned advertising market joint venture would deprive private publishers of advertising funds, thus damaging the public service they provide and reducing diversity of opinion, the association said. The approval of the Uvek as well as the Bakom for the participation of SRG in the advertising market joint venture is therefore "incomprehensible" in the view of the VSM.

The VSM states that a serious political discussion is now needed. It must be taken into account that the SRG's revenues have been growing for years, while the advertising revenues of the private media have been declining. An adjustment of the concession was therefore not the right way and would lead to a patchwork. What is needed, he said, is a serious political discussion in parliament and a legal adjustment in the Radio and TV Act (RTVG) that does justice to the structural change in the media landscape.

The Swiss Media Association wants to play an active role in shaping the future of the Swiss media landscape and is prepared to engage in discussions as before. It maintains that the private Swiss media must be included in this discussion as provided for by the Federal Constitution.

Leo Burnett: furniture and accessories to enjoy

The strategic brand positioning process for the Micasa home furnishings store is now being followed by a fresh new look, developed by Leo Burnett, which—in the best Migros tradition—is designed to entertain and engage.

Micasa furniture and accessories are more than just commodities. They are companions through life that people grow fond of and no longer want to do without. The campaign concept is used on various communication levels and media channels, online and offline. The campaign kicks off with films in which Micasa customers are unwilling to part with their furnishings. They simply take it with them on vacation or to the opera.
