Eye-catching: Star TV shows the world's longest commercial for Nivea

The world's largest skin care brand Nivea has set itself a very special goal for its 100th anniversary: to create the world's longest commercial.

During the last 7 months, the Swiss population was invited to participate in the interactive "Dab" campaign. After just a few weeks, it was clear that the current world record of 30 minutes would be broken. By the time the campaign closed at the end of November, more than 30,000 people had visited the Nivea tour bus for a consultation and 400,000 people had been personally handed a Nivea cream jar. This occasion produced almost 4,000 individual film sequences, or the equivalent of a commercial over six hours long. The idea of Nivea consumers passing a cream dab to each other came from the Zurich-based BTL agency Streuplan and is intended to symbolize Nivea's core values of trust, security and honesty. The cream dab, and with it participation in the world's longest commercial, is Nivea's intangible thank-you to the countless loyal consumers who express their trust in the brand day after day. The emotional campaign now comes to a climax: on Tuesday, December 20, the longest commercial will be broadcast exclusively on Star TV. From 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., around 800 dabbing faces will be seen on the Swiss private channel and, together with the Nivea brand, will be able to celebrate an entry in the "Guinness Book of Records."
