Saving minutes can cost months

Wirz is responsible for a campaign for Suva Pro that shows that complying with Suva rules costs less time than the consequences of an accident.

Suva's safety regulations are often perceived as a cost driver and efficiency brake. The majority of both employers and employees assume that safety in the workplace is time-consuming and tedious.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tPf1EKa6PQ

This is where Suva Pro's new umbrella campaign comes in. It deliberately shows the opposite and is intended to make clear that a real loss of time only occurs when occupational safety is not planned and accidents occur as a result. Because in relation to the time it takes to heal from the consequences of an accident, complying with Suva's vital rules costs no time at all.

In doing so, Wirz consistently relies on emotions. The film does without the usual advertising dramatizations: It focuses on a brief snapshot from the rehabilitation that workplace accidents often entail. Thanks to director Alain Gsponer's sensitive realization, these few seconds succeed in conveying everything about the arduous path that lies behind and before the protagonist.

On social media, the campaign is expanded with real examples from everyday work. An in-depth discussion of the topic and the vital rules takes place on Suva's website. Posters, advertisements and various online measures round off the campaign.

Oliver Fennel leaves Rod

Oliver Fennel is leaving the Zurich-based agency Rod. Together with Regula Bührer Fecker and David Schärer, he founded the agency in 2007, and it has since become a major player in the Swiss agency landscape.

The decision is made for personal reasons: "Normally, my life is divided into intervals of seven years. After nine years on Rod, it's time for me to tackle something new," explains Oliver Fennel. He has concrete plans for the medium term, but nothing is ready to be announced yet. The art director had creatively shaped important works of Rod - for example for 20 Minuten, the Federal Office of Public Health, Ikea, Laax, Médecins sans Frontières, Mini, Sanitas, SBB or SRF. "Letting go of a partner and friend is of course difficult. We look back on nine great years and are very grateful to Oli for that. We are happy about his courage to take on something new," says David Schärer.

The agency Rod Kommunikation in Zurich-Enge has 25 employees from all major communication disciplines. With the departure of Oliver Fennel, the agency remains equally owned by the current partners Regula Bührer Fecker, Pablo Koerfer and David Schärer.

Geyst: Spot on for Mediarent's new brand identity

For over 80 years now, Dr. W.A. Günther Media Rent has been one of the leading providers in the Swiss live communications industry. With support from Geyst, the company is now reinventing itself as part of a comprehensive brand relaunch.

As a full service provider, Dr.W.A.Günther Media Rent creates multimedia worlds of experience at over 1000 events per year. Using state-of-the-art event technology, the company reliably puts a wide variety of brands and events in the right light - references include the Zürifäscht, the Credit Suisse and Swissre general meetings, the ESPRIX Forum for Excellence and the Zurich Film Festival. It is high time to refresh the own brand and to underline the own innovative strength and brand experience competence with a strong appearance.

Unbenannt-2_147

The starting point for the appearance designed by the Zurich agency Geyst is the new brand logo, which is based on a dynamic representation of the world of Mediarent. The lines and dots symbolize light and sound and thus already visually convey initial event emotions. The logo also becomes a style-forming element of all brand communication and is the basis for a fundamental revision of the CI/CD: from the letterheads to the adaptation of the clothing, vehicle fleet and sales documents, right through to the image advertisements, the entire appearance is based on the dynamic design of the brand logo.

The central hub of the new presence is the new website: mediarent.ch. This not only provides visitors with all the important information, but also involves them on an emotional level right from the start and inspires them with an event atmosphere. This is ensured by an active approach to multimedia content, the increased use of audiovisual content and a new image world that conveys value and event atmosphere.

Xenia accompanies new Magnum creations

The «Release the Beast» campaign celebrates the launch of the new Magnum Double flavors and encourages people to unleash their inner beast. The Swiss spokesperson is Xenia Tchoumi.

The predator theme runs through the entire campaign, from the animal-print packaging to the cinematic TV spot. In the latter, Magnum shows strong, sensual women, each with a symbolic animal companion. The message: let your inner predator out and follow your instincts. Don't always do what everyone expects of you, but take what you deserve and enjoy life to the maximum. Whether in everyday life, flirting or enjoying Magnum Double.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyEbzYrSD8U

The TV campaign launches in Switzerland on May 2. The 30-second film is already running in selected cinemas and can be seen until the end of the year. Lola Madrid is responsible for the creation. The production company was Propaganda. The film was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Martin Werner. The song "High Ball Stepper" was composed and arranged by Jack White. The attention-grabbing OOH campaign starts in May in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It will be accompanied by PR and social media activities. For example, Magnum is calling on consumers via Facebook to test which predator is inside them. The digital agency is Spinnwerk. The PR agency PRfact is responsible for PR in Switzerland.

The campaign is supported worldwide by a number of internationally renowned testimonials, who are intended to show that life holds maximum pleasure if you follow your instincts. This is also the case with fashion influencer Xenia Tchoumi, who combines self-confidence and sensuality. The Swiss woman with Russian roots has gone her own way, following her instincts and creating an international fame for herself. With 750'000 followers on Instagram and almost four and a half million fans on Facebook, she plays in the upper league of social media. She owes her success to her will and energy, which allows her to go her own way without being influenced or affected by others. In keeping with the campaign, Xenia was sensually staged by photographer Muffadal Abbas. The photographs embody Xenia's "Release the Beast" moments.

Equipe: Claude Eberhard becomes new ECD

Equipe has appointed Claude Eberhard as its new Executive Creative Director, effective immediately. The 40-year-old previously worked with Equipe CEO Matthias Adolf during his time at Jung von Matt—and is now answering questions from *Werbewoche*.

Claude Eberhard, a proven digital expert, is taking over the creative leadership of Equipe. He replaces the previous ECD Florian Beck, who will be taking on a new challenge after two years. Eberhard has spent the last 15 years working successfully as a freelancer and for well-known agencies. During his career, he won numerous awards, including a Master at the Best of Swiss Web and an ADC Evergreen. Eberhard joined Equipe in September 2015 as Creative Director (Werbewoche.ch reported). CEO Matthias Adolf on the appointment: "With his extensive agency and explicit digital experience, Claude is an asset to the entire agency. I look forward to opening another successful chapter together with him."

Claude Eberhard, new ECD of Equipe (Photo: ZVG)

Werbewoche: Claude Eberhard, you are the new ECD - will anything fundamental change at Equipe?
Claude Eberhard: No, the vision and our guiding principle "communications agency with digital DNA" will not change. After all, that's exactly what sets us apart from other agencies. We don't need to write "digital" on our banner after the fact. Digital was, so to speak, ingrained in us, and we turn to clients who want to benefit from this know-how.

How digital is your personal background?
Very digital. Around the turn of the millennium, I started training to become a multimedia producer. That was my first point of contact with the digital world, even though back then it was less about online and more about creating multimedia CDs (laughs). After that, I went freelance with two colleagues and ended up working for Jung von Matt as a digital art director. First as a freelancer, then with a permanent position. That's also where I met Matthias Adolf, the current CEO of Equipe. Together, we already achieved a lot in the digital field back then.

How much does your signature as an ECD come through in the agency?
I do hope that you can feel it over time. Personally, I'd like to promote the entertainment factor at Equipe even more. For advertising on digital channels to be perceived, it must first and foremost entertain. If you can recognize this signature in our future campaigns, I'll be delighted, of course. As far as technology is concerned, we're already at the forefront.

Equipe's campaigns made a casual, fun impression in the past, too, didn't they?
Sure! But in the entertainment sector, there's always more - especially in digital film, which has the potential to go viral. Especially if you take a look at Anglo-Saxon campaigns, you can see that the agencies in question have their craft down pat. On the one hand, they know how to handle humor; on the other hand, they also have the courage to break through the boundaries of the social norm every now and then. That works in advertising and I like it. We noticed this ourselves with our Vujo campaign for the car-sharing platform Sharoo: After Vujo had to hand in his driving license for drunk driving, we put his Porsche on the platform - and staged the action in a media-appropriate way with moving images. The campaign worked great, the Porsche was permanently rented out and the public interest was immense.

Does the new position as ECD also bring with it a certain pressure?
There are moments when the issue is a little closer, but primarily the burden is kept within limits. Because Equipe has a team that works wonderfully and harmonizes. Everyone wants to go in the same direction and there is a good basic atmosphere. That was the main criterion for me to accept the job and the challenge. In addition, Equipe is one of the only owner-managed agencies of this size in Switzerland. The direct line to the owners and their support are enormously motivating.

Is the job profile very different from the CD so far?
The transition was and is fluid. I can't just say overnight: Now I'm just ECD. What will certainly increase is the contact with our customers. In the last few weeks, however, I've been focusing primarily on expanding the creative department. Finding talented professionals and integrating them into the team in such a way that everyone can play to their individual strengths is what makes a good ECD. So please send your applications to [email protected] (laughs).

Ogilvy & Mather: Invitation to a trial saving

Ogilvy & Mather Zurich has created a spring sales campaign for Ford featuring select high-volume models. The successful campaign invites customers to take a test drive and save money, generating significant showroom traffic at Ford dealerships.

In the course of a tactical sales campaign, Ford is offering its most successful models at advantageous conditions. Those who decide to purchase a new Ford by the end of April will benefit from high advantage premiums and particularly low leasing offers, down to 0.0 percent for some models. Ogilvy & Mather Zurich has developed a comprehensive campaign for this sales promotion measure with the aim of generating the highest possible number of visits and test drives at the dealers.
