Wunderman: Digital weather posters for Marionnaud

Wunderman has developed digital billboards for Marionnaud that promote products tailored to the weather.

In the months of March and April, you have to be prepared for frequent, abrupt changes in the weather in Switzerland. So it's the best time for Marionnaud, a global cosmetics company with more than 1200 stores worldwide, to demonstrate the diversity of its products. With the weather posters, Marionnaud proves that there is the right product for every weather situation. Connected live to a weather channel, the weather posters react directly to the current weather in the area surrounding the poster and recommend the right product to go with it. From the right lip balm for icy days to the right sun cream for hot days to the right mascara for rainy days.

Exxtra: Audi has the hottest flyers

With the Hot Flyer, Exxtra and Audi show how a parking heater can improve my life as a driver.

In winter, Switzerland is often covered in a thick blanket of snow, and clearing cars of ice and snow is annoying. The Audi Q7 has a parking heater that can be set by timer so that the car is cleared of snow in time for departure. To promote this feature, Audi has developed special heater flyers. These were placed on snow-covered windshields of other car brands in the morning. The heated flyers melted the snow around them. In this way, all car owners experienced the advantage of an Audi Q7: a car without a frozen windshield. At the same time, the flyer was an invitation to test the Audi Q7.

Komet is taking the departure of Simon Schatzmann as an opportunity to rejuvenate the management team and adapt the agency even better to the needs of the market: In addition to André Benker (Creative Director) and Marcel Durst (Managing Director), the management team now includes two previous employees. Corinne Hert and Fabian Merz have already proven their ability internally and will enrich the management with a lot of commitment and expertise from now on. Simon Schatzmann, previously Head of Consulting and member of the Executive Board, will leave the agency at the end of June and join the Bold agency, where he will become a partner.

Public procurement in your pocket

On behalf of the Simap.ch association, Trio has developed an app that provides access to all public tenders in Switzerland, anywhere and at any time.

The agency has launched the mobile version of the joint electronic platform of the Confederation, cantons and municipalities in the field of public procurement. With a few clicks, the user can configure a personalized search to receive only relevant information, which can then be forwarded by email, SMS or via social media. Thanks to the app, it should become impossible to miss the opportunities among the 13,000 annual publications.

"Swiss Army": Brand guardians whistle back army

The army is taking action against the use of the «Swiss Army» trademark. But now it has been reined in in Switzerland.

The army is currently conducting several lawsuits and proceedings at home and abroad against companies that are conducting unlawful business with the "Swiss Army" and "Swiss Military" brands. In Switzerland, however, the DDPS has now suffered a major defeat in its fight against trademark pirates, according to the Handelszeitung. The Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) has ruled that the army may not register the "Swiss Military" trademark for watches in the trademark register. The company Montres Charmex, which has held the rights to the "Swiss Military" trademark for over 20 years, had filed an objection to the registration of the trademark. The army is now taking the case to the Federal Administrative Court. A decision is expected by the end of 2016.

The DDPS is thus facing an embarrassment that could have unpleasant consequences: If the judges confirm the IPI's decision, the DDPS's trademark will be canceled. The Confederation's strategy of demanding license fees from watch companies for the use of military trademarks is thus threatened with a fiasco. "If the Confederation's trademark is canceled, the licenses granted to it are likely to become invalid," explains trademark law expert Gregor Wild. It also cannot be ruled out that the Confederation will then be confronted with claims for reimbursement. So far, the army has been able to negotiate license agreements with three companies. In addition to Victorinox, the watch companies Hanowa and Chrono pay license fees for the use of the "Swiss Army" and "Swiss Military" brands respectively. In total, the Confederation collected license fees of CHF 1.2 million in 2015.

Spectacular staging for Allianz Suisse

In September 2015, a team led by producer and director David Schildknecht accompanied a kite expedition in Greenland and shot a promotional film for Allianz Suisse in icy water at minus 0.7 degrees.

It's not the first crazy idea from brothers Geza and André Scholtz. In 2013, the two dentists from Zurich were the first ever to cross the 560-kilometre-long Strait of Magellan on a kite. Their latest expedition, which they completed together with British professional kiter Richard Flindall, has even more thrills in store: In Disko Bay, on the west coast of Greenland, the kiters curve their boards around huge icebergs, jump across the fjord over areas of drift ice and brave the cold and snowstorms.

Always on board: a team from dpvideoproduction. David Schildknecht combines high-quality video footage with images from several GoPros attached to the kite and board and breathtaking drone footage. They create a dramatic arc of suspense and a unique atmosphere. The hourly changing ice landscape, the minus 0.7 degree cold water and the strong wind demanded everything from the film crew.

All the more reason for dpvideoproduction to be delighted with the result: a documentary and an image film that perfectly reflect the client Allianz Suisse's message with their powerful visuals and relaxed storytelling: "Perform. Succeed. Be Yourself." The Scholtz brothers' testimonial will be used in the well-known insurer's employer marketing, among other things, and further uses are planned.

"Extreme conditions require extreme measures"says dpvideoproduction Managing Director David Schildknecht, commenting on his company's latest production. Together with Geza and André Scholtz and thanks to the trust of the alliance and the artistic freedom associated with it, his crew was able to prove that they are an ideal partner for elaborate and unusual projects.

Polyconsult launches "Swiss Meat Academy

Polyconsult developed the «Swiss Meat Academy» for Proviande. The app is dedicated to proper meat preparation.

The aim of the platform is to encourage a younger audience to try out meat dishes and help them achieve successful results. 44 tutorial videos and photo instructions explain the different ways of preparing meat in such a simple and understandable way that even inexperienced cooks can achieve perfect results.

The "Swiss Meat Academy" app was launched last November and has already been downloaded over 95'000 times, according to a statement on Tuesday.

With a 30-second spot and an accompanying online campaign, downloads are now to be increased even further - especially in the core target group of under-35s. The spot shows how the app proves itself in use and is now running on TV and in selected Swiss cinemas.

Last but not least: Kill the noise

Three students from the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg have produced an original commercial for Ohropax.

Almost everyone has experienced how noise that you can't avoid can trigger quite a bit of aggression. This woman is almost driven to white heat by her husband with his smacking, slurping and snoring. She would have hit him over the head with a frying pan long ago if it weren't for earplugs.

Director and writer Christian Schilling, cameraman Tim Weskamp and producer Christian Arnold are currently completing their second year of studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, as the portal Horizon.net knows, which also dug up the spot. (sis)

Coop revises social media presence

The Bern-based agency Dr. Schenker Kommunikation provided conceptual support to the retailer as it built out its social media presence.

Since the beginning of April, Coop has been Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube present. Dr. Schenker Kommunikation designed the social media presence. Patrick Moeschler, an experienced social media strategist, is part of the team. For several months, he supported Coop with the planning, and the content and organizational principles were developed under his leadership.

"Our aim was to optimally integrate social media into Coop's overall communication, brand management and internal processes," Patrick Moeschler was quoted as saying in a press release on Tuesday. Christian Lüdi, Head of Social Media at Coop, is satisfied with the launch: "Our presence has been very well received. We have received a lot of positive feedback. And the community is already interacting diligently with Coop."

Kuoni goes "online first" for 2015 annual report

Following the 2014 annual report—which has since been honored with the 2016 IF Design Award—Noord was once again commissioned to conceptualize and design the new annual report.

Together with Kuoni Group, Noord set itself the goal of developing a modern and cosmopolitan annual report that also enables easy usability. The strategic reorientation of the Kuoni Group into a company with increasingly digital services for the global travel industry and for governments supported the project. Thus, nothing stood in the way of the motto "Online First".

At the same time, synergies were exploited. Thus, in parallel to the annual report, the new responsive corporate website was also created on the same basis.

The "Simplicity First" concept approach

Not least to create a visual experience, Kuoni Group and Noord adhered to the following parameters:
- Clarity in the structure
- Added value through reduction
- Stringent and media-compatible implementation

In addition to the online report, the essence of the annual report was printed as a shareholder booklet.
