Schaerer und Partner: Logo and website for the Swiss Gymnastics Festival 2019 in Aarau

The logo for the 2019 Swiss National Gymnastics Festival in Aarau combines the coats of arms of the canton of Aargau and the city of Aarau with the colors of the Swiss Gymnastics Federation. The visual identity and the new website were developed by Schaerer and Partner.

The Federal Gymnastics Festival is being held for the seventh time in the canton of Aargau - the "gymnastics canton". The reference to the canton's coat of arms is also recognizable in the newly developed logo for the major federal event. The three five-pointed stars of the coat of arms can be found in the logo as modern, reduced pictograms. These pictograms can be interpreted as gymnastic figures and can be moved depending on the advertising medium. In addition, the color combination of red, white and black focuses on the city of Aarau. The colors white and red alone correspond to the Swiss national colors and the association colors of the Swiss Gymnastics Federation and represent the federal character of the festival.

With the new visual identity, the 2019 Swiss Gymnastics Festival can also be implemented convincingly in terms of communication. The Baden-based agency has overall responsibility for marketing and sponsorship within the overall OC of Switzerland's largest sporting event with over 70,000 gymnasts.

On the new website Aarau2019.ch, also a product of the Baden-based full-service agency, interested parties can find regular news and information about the ETF 2019.

Responsible at Schaerer and Partner: Andi Schaerer (Overall Head of Marketing and Sponsoring ETF 2019), Patricia Cornali (Consulting), Patrick Crivellari (Creation and Graphics) and David Kirchhof (Online).

Sauerkraut Air

In the mind of this English soccer fan, flying with a German airline is a complete nightmare. But it’s not quite as bad as that—as a Lufthansa commercial shows.

dland

Since England and Germany no longer fight wars against each other, today's sporting enmity is confined to the soccer pitch. The emotionally charged duels were particularly exciting when the two archrivals still met on equal terms. That was a while ago - but the emotions remain. For example, the English soccer fan in the commercial by German agency Kolle Rebbe is visibly dreading the prospect of being rebooked on a Lufthansa flight. In his mind, there's not only beer, sausage and loud brass band music on the German plane - the most beautiful German victories against England in penalty shootouts are also shown on the on-board TV. He is wrong. Except for the beer. But even the airline of the four-time current champions can't change the fact that England hasn't won the World Cup since 1966. For all its hospitality. (hae)

Publicis: Swiss brings people and cultures together

Following "Seats for Switzerland", Publicis has once again launched the international campaign "A Swiss Welcome", a 360° activation lasting several months, which has generated a global response since the end of last year.

In the process, Swiss demonstrates that an airline is about much more than just getting people from point A to point B. In the first phase, the company was looking for people around the world who wanted to travel to Switzerland for the first time and be shown around the country by local hosts. People could apply for this on a campaign website. A public vote and a jury were used to determine the winners in the respective countries.

In the second phase, a national call was launched in January to find hosts who were willing to show their personal Switzerland to guests from all over the world. Here, too, people could apply on the campaign website and convince the public and a jury of their hospitality. An exciting sightseeing program also had to be presented.

Finally, over two weekends in March, 17 guests and their entourage flew from all over the world to Switzerland, where they were welcomed by Swiss with a warm welcome event. Here, the guests and their local hosts also got to know each other and then began their joint travel adventure to experience unforgettable moments.

As evidence, the most beautiful and exciting encounters of "A Swiss Welcome" were captured in various personal and authentic films. In addition to great moments, they show one thing above all: that Swiss brings people and cultures together.

"Vomit" affair: Army chief Blattmann apologizes to SRF and Brotz

Army Chief Blattmann has formally apologized to the SRF editorial board and «Rundschau» host Sandro Brotz «for the inappropriate, personal slur.».

He is aware that he may have offended the public. He regrets this, André Blattmann wrote on Monday in an email to SRF editor-in-chief Tristan Brenn and "Rundschau" editorial director Mario Poletti, which is available to the SDA news agency. The two had demanded a public apology from Blattmann for his comments at the beginning of May. According to a report in Zentralschweiz am Sonntag, the army chief is said to have referred to the "Rundschau" presenter as "Sandro Kotz, er Brotz" at a seminar for general staff officers in Glatt, Aargau. In a program in March, the journalist from Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) made confidential documents about problems in connection with the so-called Bodluv project - the procurement of new surface-to-air missiles - public. However, Blattmann continues to maintain his criticism of the person or persons who passed the documents on to third parties. According to Zentralschweiz am Sonntag, he is said to have told the officers that he would be pleased if they were figuratively led to the slaughter. He will personally assist with the dismantling of the insignia. (SDA)

Business newspaper L'Agefi in trouble

The French-Swiss business newspaper L'Agefi continues to struggle with financial difficulties and is moving from Lausanne to the suburb of Echandens. The paper has been in the red since 2003.

The situation is critical, but L'Agefi will still be around for the next few years, said Editor-in-Chief François Schaller in an interview with the newspapers Le Courrier and La Liberté on Monday. He wants to counter the difficulties with a digital upheaval. In the future, the newspaper will share offices with Aevis Holding, which owns private hospitals Genolier, among others. The group is also a 49 percent shareholder in the newspaper. The move will not affect journalistic independence, Schaller emphasized in an interview. The newspaper's main shareholder is French businessman Alain Duménil, who has been the subject of tax proceedings in Switzerland since 2014. Because of these proceedings, L'Agefi is no longer among the main shareholder's priorities, Schaller held. The newspaper announced a capital increase in November, which has not been substantiated since then. The project is still underway, according to the editor-in-chief. (SDA)

Serviceplan and Plan.Net: Employer branding campaign for Allianz Suisse

Since February 2016, Serviceplan Public Relations Suisse and Plan Net Suisse have been responsible for the communications strategy supporting the new employer branding initiative for the field sales force of Allianz Suisse’s general agencies.

Under the claim "Perform, Succeed, Be Yourself," the two agencies have now developed a campaign. This draws comparisons between extreme kitesurfers and sales representatives and highlights shared values.

Recruiting sales representatives - whether young professionals, career changers or experienced customer advisors - is a major challenge for insurance companies and their general agencies. In order to master this challenge and generate the best possible person-job fit through targeted communication, the insurance group Allianz Suisse brought Serviceplan Public Relations Suisse on board. In close cooperation, a campaign was developed around the Allianz ambassadors Geza and André Scholtz. With their passion for rough waves and inhospitable conditions, the two extreme kitesurfers reflect precisely those values with which Allianz Suisse would like to appeal to potential sales force employees: "freedom", "diversity" and "responsibility".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbeQq0T-vVc

As a first measure, a Microsite with impressive imagery around the Scholtz brothers was designed and integrated into the existing Allianz Suisse career portal at the end of April. The site is being continuously developed by Serviceplan Public Relations Suisse and Plan.Net Suisse. It is the centerpiece of the campaign and offers potential sales representatives information on jobs, training or vacancies. "Serviceplan Public Relations and Plan.Net have succeeded in integrating the Scholtz brothers into the Allianz world and building a bridge to the field sales force of the general agencies in terms of content," says Michael Schürch, Head of GA Services at Allianz Suisse. The next step will be to implement a large recruiting event at Zurich's Houdini cinema and a testimonial site.

Responsible at Allianz Suisse: Michael Schürch (Head of GA Services), Thomas Jost (Sales Development). Responsible agencies: Serviceplan Public Relations Suisse (overall responsibility, concept and editorial), Plan.Net Suisse (creation and media strategy).

Advertising Week Advertiser of the Year: The Three Nominees

JvM/Limmat: The first washing line for hair

«Care Wash» by Syoss is reminiscent of a car wash and works just as easily. The promotion at Zurich Central Station generated a lot of interest.

All you have to do is select the appropriate hair care program, take a seat on the fully automatic hairdresser's chair, and you'll be rolling slowly on rails through the wash line by yourself. While the hairdresser's chair tilts electrically backwards, a hydraulic arm swivels over the head and wets the hair with pleasantly tempered water. Shampoo is applied in precise doses from a second nozzle.

JvM_Syoss_1

While the chair moves on continuously, vertical brush rollers, water walls, conditioner nozzles, a horizontal flap roller and a sophisticated device that massages in the hair conditioner are used. After a quick dry with two industrial blow dryers, two Syoss stylists bring the hairstyles into perfect shape with just a few moves.

JvM_Syoss_2

"Care Wash" makes it possible to experience what Syoss promises, namely professional performance and a feeling as if fresh from the hairdresser. The spectacular wash line was set up for two days at Zurich's main train station and was fully booked after just one hour for the entire duration of the promotion. A film documents the action and is available on Get-syossed.ch to see. "Care Wash" took place as part of the "Get Syossed" campaign, which was launched throughout Switzerland in mid-April.

A partnership with fashion and lifestyle blogger Minea Blaze also caused a stir. She accompanies the campaign on her owned channels and gives her very personal care and styling tips on the microsite.

Wemf adjusts survey period

Due to various reactions from publishing houses and at the request of the Association of Swiss Media, Wemf adjusts the survey period for the circulation figures and moves the publication date forward.

As things stand today, the Wemf-certified circulation figures are published in mid-October each year - with a survey period from July to July. This publication date poses a problem for various press titles. As Roland Achermann, Head of Circulation Certification, explained to Werbewoche.ch, the circulation figures are the main argument for many titles in the trade and general-interest press, which do not have MACH figures on reach, vis-à-vis advertisers. For them, the timing of the publication is extremely important - but mid-October is rather too late.

The Board of Directors of Wemf has therefore decided to adjust the survey period in the future to meet the wishes of the media houses. Nothing will change yet for this year's 2016 certification. In the following transition year, the survey period will be shortened from July 2016 to March 2017 and the circulation figures will already be published on September 1. From 2018, a full year will then have to be declared again, namely from April 2017 to and including March 2018. This survey period from April to March and the publication date of September 1 will apply to subsequent years from 2018.

According to Wemf, the quality of the controls and the scheduled publication will not change as a result of the postponement. According to Achermann, comparability will also be maintained. (hae/pd)

Swiss shortlist: Best of Content Marketing

This year's Best of Content Marketing (formerly Best of Corporate Publishing) in Munich, for which Werbewoche is a member of the jury, once again saw some very promising entries from Switzerland. We present the shortlist of Swiss entries here, but the award ceremony on June 16 in Hamburg will reveal who will win gold.

Collaborative Economy: Swisscom learns to share

It's not just technology start-ups, alternative movements and, of course, users who are discovering new opportunities as a result of the sharing trend. A major telecoms provider like Swisscom can also take advantage of it. Christina Taylor, Head of Human Centered Design at Swisscom, knows how a large company can share properly.

Data for creative advertising minds

Big data is on everyone's lips, but not yet on everyone's minds. Is there a path from data set to treasure trove of ideas? We asked the specialist Stefan Ropers, Managing Director Central Europe at Adobe.

Survey: Where is the Internet of Things?

The Internet of Things (IoT) has been hotly debated for several years. However, it seems that developments are stagnating or offer little added value. The IoT still has a long way to go, says Daniel Kästli, Senior Consultant at Namics. Experts from leading digital agencies explain where the Internet of Things stands today.

24 Programmatic Centric Media: The next big challenge

Major brands are increasingly moving in the direction of programmatic. "This year, programmatic advertising is definitely really taking off in Switzerland," says Michael Plate, Head of Platforms Agency Networks DACH/Google Germany: "Advertisers who don't invest together with their agency partners risk falling behind their competitors."

Head of the week: Mister Digital

Sandro Albin has spent his entire career to date in digital transformation and has been CEO of Adwebster for the past year. Now he is launching his own company.

Millennials: on their way to power

If you want to stay ahead in the advertising market, you have to adapt to Generation Y. They have completely new expectations and are revolutionizing advertising. But what makes this generation tick and how can you inspire them?
