Job seekers and retirees in particular are interested in the jungle camp

For 13 seasons now, the jungle camp has flickered across the screens of German TV viewers every January and is also considered a kind of "guilty pleasure" of intellectuals. Not for nothing has the format even been nominated for the prestigious Grimme Award. However, a closer look at those who are most interested in the jungle show does not confirm this image. Rather, it shows that job seekers and pensioners are disproportionately among the jungle fans. This is the result of an analysis by data specialist emetriq.

The evaluation of Emetriq Audience Insights shows the distribution of users with an interest in Dschungelcamp compared to the emetriq data pool. The data expert compares the characteristics gender, age, household net income as well as affinity and also analyzes the family, education and job status of the users.

Particularly popular with (early) retirees, rather unattractive for millennials

According to the Emetriq analysis, the proportionally largest share of those interested in the jungle are pensioners (20 percent). Close behind are job-seeking users (19 percent). In addition, the analysis shows that the common jungle fan is between 40 and 49 years old. In the younger comparison group of 20 to 29-year-olds, interest in the show is rather low: Only 10 percent of users in this age group find pleasure in Dschungelcamp. And more women (56 percent) than men (44 percent) watch.

Jungle fans like the tabloids, art and culture

The data specialist also takes a look at the affinities of IBES friends. They are particularly interested in tabloid topics. That should come as little surprise. However, the analysts observed a similarly high overlap with those who are enthusiastic about art and culture - which then again somehow pays into the reputation of the intellectual "guilty pleasure. Incidentally, disinterest in the jungle show is greatest among DIY enthusiasts.
