The PR Factory Raises Awareness About Credit Card Fraud
The "Card Security" phishing campaign is entering its second phase: With fisherwoman Linda as its brand ambassador, the Zurich-based agency The PR Factory is raising awareness among the Swiss public about the rise in card fraud—through two campaign phases in the summer and fall of 2026.

Card Security Phishing Campaign: LINDA Returns
Card fraud has been on the rise for years, and the Card Security anti-phishing campaign is responding with a nationwide relaunch. Since June 1, 2026, LINDA the fisherwoman has been back in action—this time under the slogan «LINDA protects against phishing!» The campaign was developed by the Zurich-based communications agency The PR Factory, which also serves as the executive board of the Card Security association. The initiative is backed by the police as well as debit and credit card issuers.
According to the Federal Office for Cybersecurity (BACS), cybercriminals are increasingly relying on multi-stage fraud strategies that combine various channels to obtain sensitive data. The attacks are becoming increasingly tailored to specific targets. For more than ten years, Card Security has been providing information on current fraud schemes and protective measures—with the police serving as the source of these messages.

LINDA: Five Tips to Avoid Phishing
Once again, the campaign centers on LINDA the fisherwoman, whose name serves as an acronym for five recommendations for action. «Simple messages and repetition are key to prevention efforts. That’s the only way we can reach the public and ensure that people remember the most important rules. That’s exactly what we’re doing with LINDA the fisherwoman,» explains Andrea Miolo-Eberhard, owner of The PR Factory. She adds: «Plus, LINDA, in her yellow fishing outfits, is a real eye-catcher and a positive brand ambassador for our cause.»
The five mnemonic rules are: L stands for «Be wary of links and attachments,» I for «Critically examine content,» N for «Be skeptical of neutral salutations,» D for «Question the urgency,» and A for «Verify the sender.» If you follow these guidelines, you should be able to quickly spot credit card fraud.
Back in February 2026, The PR Factory received the Winner Award at the German Design Awards for its concept for LINDA in the category «Excellent Communications Design – Integrated Campaigns and Advertising.» At the time, the jury praised the «authentic prevention campaign with high relevance.».

Two campaign phases, extensive media coverage
The campaign will run in two phases: throughout June 2026 and from September 16 to October 14, 2026. During these periods, TV commercials will air throughout the country. In addition, posters in high-traffic areas and on public transportation will help draw attention to the campaign. Targeted online and social media ads will be placed on Switzerland’s leading online news portals and social media platforms.
On the website www.card-security.ch There is also an interactive knowledge quiz with a contest. Police departments across Switzerland are organizing various activities to raise public awareness and distribute informational materials. Debit and credit card issuers, as well as banks, are informing their customers through their own channels. According to a 2025 survey by gfs.bern, banks are regarded by their customers as the most important and trustworthy points of contact when it comes to ensuring payment security.
