Jung von Matt Brand Identity creates new brand identity for Oris

The watch brand Oris is sharpening its brand positioning with a new visual identity. Jung von Matt Brand Identity has developed a distinctive design system for this comprehensive rebranding.

In the world of luxury watches, much revolves around exclusivity. Oris, however, deliberately wants to be different and focuses on curiosity, community and responsibility. In line with the new brand promise "Welcome to Hölstein", Jung von Matt Brand Identity developed a brand design that celebrated its world premiere at "Watches and Wonders" in Geneva.

A well-founded brand strategy process led to the sharpened positioning of Oris. The aim was to make the brand essence authentically visible and to create clarity - both internally and externally. On this strategic basis, a flexible brand design was created that works consistently from China to the USA. The new appearance thus provides orientation, underlines Oris' independence and aims to establish a more inclusive understanding of luxury in the watch industry.

Brand design with history

The new brand design picks up on elements from Oris' history and interprets them in a contemporary way. A central element is the Oris bear. The former mascot now appears as the host of Hölstein. The previous Oris crest has also been rethought and forms the basis for a pattern that makes the appearance recognizable across all touchpoints.

"Designing luxury in such a way that it creates closeness, invites people in and yet remains entirely Oris was a particularly enjoyable task for us," says Christina Widmann, Executive Design Director at Jung von Matt Brand Identity. The color peach-rosé characterizes the new Oris brand identity. The delicate shade was chosen deliberately - it picks up on the color of the Oris factory in Hölstein. In this way, the visual reference to the history is also made tangible.

"Hölstein Light" as a visual metaphor for time

The imagery has also been rethought. The "Hölstein light" is a visual metaphor for the natural progression of light from midday to dusk. It stands for warmth, authenticity and the feeling of a genuine encounter.

Responsible at Oris: Marc Sutterlüti (Head of Global Marketing). Responsible at Jung von Matt Brand Identity: Julius Jäger (Executive Strategy Director), Christina Widmann (Executive Design Director), Micha Niederhäuser (Brand Designer), Pascal Schranz (Brand Consultant).

"Like to Hike": campaign for more safety when hiking continues

In the seventh edition of «Like to Hike,» the Swiss Hiking Trails Association focuses on preventive communication to make hikers aware of potential emergency situations. The series of explanatory videos provides information about risks and shows how to respond appropriately if something does go wrong.

Hiking involves certain risks, especially in the mountains. The latest video in the series explains how hikers can deal with emergency situations, such as accidents or changes in the weather. Patricia Cornali, Head of Association Communications, emphasizes that thorough preparation and the right equipment are essential. "Those who are aware of their responsibilities can prevent most risks," says Cornali.

The series also teaches how to react to sudden changes in the weather and what safety measures to take, for example in the event of a fall or a sudden thunderstorm. The campaign also shows how important it is to know your surroundings and to realistically assess your own fitness in order to avoid overexertion and accidents. In addition to practical tips on equipment, such as sturdy hiking boots and a charged cell phone, the video also provides information on the correct behavior in the event of an accident, such as how to provide first aid and call for help.

Tyma and Marty-Trezzini realize rebranding film for Siech Cycles

For the new brand identity of the bicycle brand Siech Cycles, the Zurich-based production companies Tyma and Marty—Trezzini collaborated to create a brand film and the visual identity.

The bicycle brand Siech Cycles has been given a new rebranding by Wieden+Kennedy. The aim was to bring the claim "For the Love of Riding" to life. To this end, Tyma and Marty-Trezzini produced a film and created the entire visual world around it.

"We didn't just want to stage a product, but a feeling," explains Yannis Petrone, director and co-founder of Tyma. "It was about capturing that one moment when you're sitting on the bike, blocking out everything else and all you can feel is how free you are."

The film is intended to feel like a poetic declaration of love for cycling. It was filmed in Zurich from the perspective of the riders. The complementary imagery was photographed by Cyrill Matter and captures what Siech stands for with warm colors and an urban atmosphere: minimalist design combined with maximum joie de vivre.

The two creative teams conceived, wrote and implemented the measures in a close co-creation process - from the film script to the voice-over manifesto to the final edit.

Huber/Brönnimann for CoffeeB: The nuts and bolts of coffee

The current campaign for CoffeeB is all about circles—just like the letter «O.» Peter Brönnimann and Stefanie Huber are responsible for the creative direction.

Whether lungo, espresso, cappuccino, ristretto, macchiato, cortado, affogato or other variations - almost every good coffee has something round - namely an "O" in its name.

CoffeeB uses this insight as the stage for the current campaign - and replaces the "O" with the Coffee Ball, the centerpiece of the capsule-free system. The measures are intended to convey that the best coffee is round - and 100% garden compostable.

"With this tasty campaign, we are showing that enjoyment and sustainability go together perfectly. The Coffee Ball stands for the future of coffee drinking: without a capsule, but with full flavor," explains Chiara Bosshard, Head of Marketing CoffeeB.

The concept is currently being brought to the point and to the ball in online films, DOOH and OOH.
