On Thursday, the Swiss direct marketing industry celebrated the best in their field. At the grand awards ceremony in Zurich, 37 gold, silver, and bronze awards were presented in 19 categories.

"The advertising of the future is entertainment" was the motto of this year's SDV Awards. In the discipline of dialog marketing, it is becoming increasingly important to intensively shape the exchange between companies and customers. Those who already do this excellently today are not only equipped for the future, but were also among the winners last Thursday."

For the first time, the award night was held at the StageOne event location in Zurich-Oerlikon. Stefan Büsser moderated the event, which was styled like a late-night show, in a relaxed, intelligent and charming manner. Bernese comedian Semih Yavsaner aka Müslüm was at his side as a witty side-kick, while the live band Ray's Class provided additional drive. Then, at 10 p.m., DJane Rita Tarnover took the entertainment scepter in her hands and asked for dancing at the after-party.

The new concept was entertaining and according to the motto real entertainment. Where do you experience live Büssi and Müslüm on the same stage? We believe that no one left early and everyone stayed until the end.

Compresso on course for European championship

On June 8, 2016, Compresso sent 370 football fans into the emotional world of a professional footballer for the OK. energy drink. On behalf of Valora Switzerland, the agency transformed the Shoppi Tivoli into a stadium catacomb.

Valora_ok.-energy-drink_Spielertunnel-t

Those who made their way through the 25-meter-long player tunnel were led into the "stadium" to thunderous applause and immortalized in the world's longest virtual team lineup.

With numerous football fans, Compresso together with OK.- created the longest team line-up in the world. The virtual line-up consists of 370 female and male fans and is thus longer than all 24 participating European Championship teams together! European championship. Swiss national team goalkeeper Roman Bürki is also visibly impressed by the action: "It's sensational that our fans at home are putting together the longest team for us and showing us their great support in this way. To be able to represent the home country at a major tournament and to be able to create feelings of happiness throughout the nation with exceptional performances is the greatest motivation. The impressive performance of the fans with the longest team line-up shows us that we have great fans who will carry us to a successful European Championship."

Swiss Nati feeling with Compresso

An experience of a special kind - with the Players' Tunnel, Compresso makes the unique moment, which was previously only reserved for professional footballers, tangible for every visitor to the Shoppi Tivoli shopping center. The players' tunnel, which was created as part of the launch of the new OK. energy drink limited edition, is presented in the form of a giant energy drink can. Compresso was responsible for the idea, conception and realization. In addition to promotional activities on the opening day of June 8, 2016, Compresso realized the various graphic elements, the team line-up video, press relations and a media cooperation. In the 25 meter long tunnel in the Shoppi Tivoli in Spreitenbach you can get a taste of the European Championship until July 9, 2016.

Ad agencies turn to Instagram more than Twitter

According to a study, advertising agencies are increasingly turning to Instagram, a Facebook subsidiary, rather than Twitter when it comes to social media.

insta

According to the data released Thursday, 96 percent of companies expressed interest in advertising on Facebook, 63 percent on Instagram and 56 percent on Twitter. Eighty-three agencies were surveyed. A Twitter spokesman called the results wrong, pointing to a 2015 study by Advertiser Perceptions that said interest in the short messaging service was greater than in the image service. Instagram declined to comment. Twitter is losing ground to Internet top dogs Google and Facebook. In April, the U.S. company admitted that advertisers had held back in the months before, especially in Europe. (SDA)

JvM: Iouri Podladtchikov stages guests and hotels

Ibis is reinventing its brand identity and its more than 1,900 hotels worldwide as part of a comprehensive modernization effort. To celebrate this in a fitting manner, Jung von Matt/Limmat developed a holistic activation campaign.

iouri

The main objectives of the activities are to appeal to a new and younger target group and to communicate the new brand promise: more design, comfort and services at an attractive price. A unique offer in the economy hotel industry, as otherwise only the rich and famous are used to - simply "Rich & Famous".

ibis_Vernissage_1

Photographer and snowboard pro Iouri Podladtchikov staged four young personalities in the newly designed ibis hotels true to the motto "Rich & Famous". The four amateur models Valeria, Sabine, Cyril and Gaëtan prevailed over more than 300 candidates in an online voting conducted in May at www.rich-and-famous.ch. The online casting, which lasted around a month, was publicized with PR and ATL measures and sponsored content.
The photo series comprises eight subjects and was presented at an exclusive vernissage at ibis Zurich City West on June 9, 2016. Over 150 illustrious guests, including media creators and online influencers, celebrated the brand modernization with ibis Hotels.

ibis_Rich_and_Famous_1

In the coming months, the eight pictures will tour through the 38 ibis hotels in Switzerland and will also be exhibited in selected trendy locations. AccorHotels will also use the images as part of further PR activities, owned-channel communication and an online campaign planned for the fall.

The Best Swiss Photographers

Lucas Olivet (Geneva) in the Fine Art category and Alexandre Haefeli (Neuchâtel) in the Free category are the proud winners of the Swiss Photo Award - the.selection. The international jury announced the winners this evening before a distinguished audience at the Photobastei.

swissphotoaward_teaser

The two winners will each receive prize money of 5,000 francs. Their works, along with the next four best entries in each category, will be on display at the Photobastei in Zurich through June 26.

After a three-stage judging process involving a record number of submissions, the judges were in agreement: Lucas Olivet from Geneva wins the Fine Art category with his work *Black Water Ballad*. In this poetic piece, Olivet returns to the place of his childhood dreams in the forests of Canada. The work is superbly edited and manages to create an almost absurd poetry full of love using seemingly simple images.

Alexandre Haefeli from Neuchâtel wins in the Free category with his work *The Company of Men*. His work stages spaces in a figurative sense. It reinterprets macro photographs and landscape images and juxtaposes them. He succeeds in immersing the viewer in a world of his own without creating any definitive meaning. This playful, cheeky work exudes great fun, and one would love to see more of it.

The Swiss Photo Award in a new look

The Swiss Photo Award is one of Switzerland’s most prestigious photography awards and, with a total prize fund of 30,000 francs, one of the most generously endowed. It showcases Swiss photography in all its forms—in advertising, fashion, editorial, photojournalism, and art. For 18 years, it has annually honored the best works based on their high technical and artistic standards.

This year the award will take place for the first time in the Photobastei and reinvents itself. The awards will be presented in three stages and embedded in Professional Weeks. They transform the entire Photobastei into a house of reportage in April, art photography in June and fashion photography in September.

From June 10 to 26, the Photobastei will be transformed into a venue dedicated to fine art photography with the award exhibition.

Socar gas cylinders line up for team photo

Just in time for the European Championship this summer, Socar’s summer campaign features all of its steel and composite steel cylinders posing for a traditional soccer team photo. Jung von Matt/Brand Identity developed the campaign.

socar_teaser_3

The communication picks up on Socar's commitment as a sponsoring partner of Uefa Euro 2016 and, despite its independent thematic reference, fits perfectly into Socar's distinctive communication. The associated Competition offers the prospect of an attractive main prize - a VIP package for the Uefa European Championship final in Paris - and encourages customers to take part. For particularly large numbers of participants, the campaign was integrated into the Socar Energy Switzerland website and cooperated with 20min.ch.

"The football summer is the perfect time for our gas cylinders to show what they can do. With barbecues and camping trips, you can really enjoy the match days. I'm looking forward to a great European Championship and a big success for our campaign," says Benita Spengler, Brand & Marketing Manager at Socar Energy Switzerland.

Publicis: How children see the future

As a complementary measure to UBS's existing digital banking campaign, Publicis, in collaboration with Razorfish and the film production company Frame Eleven, has created a video for use on social media.

Unbenannt_teaser_5

The agency asked children how they imagine the future. Rockets as a means of transportation, helmets for communication or a life on the caramel planet are just some of the funny answers, which were reinforced with loving illustrations. And last but not least, UBS was integrated in a surprising way as a bank with the most future-oriented banking services of today.

Matthias Sempach Is Looking for the Worst of the Worst

Leo Burnett has launched an online promotion for Emmentaler featuring brand ambassador Matthias Sempach.

emmentaler_teaser

As a Schwingking, Matthias Sempach is considered one of the “Bösen”—the term used in Schwing jargon to refer to wrestlers who have won a federal wreath. For *Emmentaler*, Sempach is now searching for the “Bösesten” in the entire country. This time, however, it’s not about Schwing, but about looking as menacing as possible.

On the one hand, making a mean face looks really funny, and on the other hand, anyone can do it—regardless of age or gender. On Emmentaler.ch/boese Numerous users are already taking part in this new «mass sport» and competing for the title with their most outrageous photos.

Participants compete in head-to-head matches against randomly selected opponents or against friends who challenge them. The winners are determined by the online community. Cash prizes totaling several thousand francs are up for grabs.

In addition to the photo contest, users can also enter a raffle to win a year’s worth of shopping at Migros worth 15,000 francs and 120 gift certificates worth 100 francs each.

The smart Zurich newspaper for your smartphone

This spring, the NZZ launched a new e-paper app. Studio Roth&Maerchy developed the launch campaign and implemented it in collaboration with various partners.

NZZ-E-Paper_teaser

The app provides access to the entire NZZ universe, including the *Neue Zürcher Zeitung*, the *NZZ am Sonntag*, and all NZZ supplements and magazines, such as *Bücher am Sonntag*, *NZZ Folio*, and *NZZ Geschichte*. The campaign aimed to make accessing the e-paper app as easy as possible. Through a free trial, users could get a first-hand look at the app. For one month, anyone interested can read the «Neue Zürcher Zeitung» and the «NZZ am Sonntag» as e-papers for free. Only then does the potential customer decide whether to sign up for a paid subscription.

To provide further incentives for active use of the new e-paper app, Studio Roth&Maerchy, together with its partners, has developed a contest: The more often test readers use the app, the better their chances of winning one of three free 10-year subscriptions.
