Last but not least: Faz has a new ambassador

The American cartoon icon Lisa Simpson sets new standards: in the photo series "Kluge Köpfe" (clever minds) in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung Faz, she focuses on quality journalism instead of television.

While the rest of the Simpson family sits comfortably on the sofa and stares at the TV, Lisa is the only one not following the TV program. She hides behind a newspaper - the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, of course. She does this demonstratively and passionately, as the Faz writes in a press release.

The US series "The Simpsons" has also been running in Germany since 1991. It repeatedly makes critical reference to real-life events and has received numerous awards, not least for this reason. According to the press release, the current motif of the "Clever Minds" series was created in the Simpsons cartoonists' studios in Santa Monica, California. However, Lisa did not want to reveal which part of the Faz she normally studies most closely. Alongside politics and economics, the feature section is said to be her top priority. (uma)

Data of the motif can be here can be downloaded. Previously published motifs, including making-of material, can also be found there. The campaign is being managed by the Faz lead agency Scholz & Friends, Berlin.

Rod: New campaign for Sinalco

In collaboration with the Zurich-based agency Rod Kommunikation, Sinalco is set to be awakened from its slumber. The «Punkt für dich» campaign promotes a positive, optimistic outlook on life.

More precisely, the feeling that everyone is the architect of their own happiness and that every day offers the chance to change their life for the better, as the agency writes in a press release on Monday. Sinalco is positioned as a lively companion for a carefree life - for example, the product serves the protagonist in the TV commercial (directed by Christian Mielmann aka Milo; produced by Soup Film) as an active aid to making decisions. And in the ads, headlines such as "Let the sun out.", "Life smiles. Smile first." or "Everything in the yellow zone." are intended to convey a fundamentally positive attitude to life.

"Punkt für dich" was developed as a large-scale campaign that prominently showcases the product in a TV commercial, online advertising, advertisements, e-boards and a promotion and sampling concept. On the new website Sinalco.ch (developed in collaboration with My Sign), the spot can also be given new twists.

Audience Council: Praise for "The Voice of Switzerland

The SRG Deutschschweiz Audience Council discussed the programs «The Voice of Switzerland» on SRF 1 and «Virus TV» during a meeting. The council described the former as professional and entertaining, while it characterized «Virus TV» as an «original experimental project.».

"The Voice of Switzerland" is for the Audience Council a professional and successful adaptation of an internationally successful casting format for Switzerland. The show was entertaining and offered musical performances at a high level, the audience council said in a statement on Monday. The coaching team impressed the council with competence, credibility and authenticity. The inclusion of the audience via social media is welcomed, but the implementation was not yet fully convincing.

A majority of the audience council attests "The Voice of Switzerland" a high entertainment value. The music and the high-quality performances contributed significantly to this. The different stages and the mix of music show, competition, talk and recordings offered a lot of variety. The Blind Auditions were particularly well received by the Council. The panel considered the Swissization of the international format a success. In addition to the dialect, the Swiss cultural and linguistic diversity was well expressed with the inclusion of candidates from all parts of the country as well as representatives of the foreign population.

The audience council was also pleased with the positive approach of the casting show. The Voice of Switzerland" was about promoting talent, about support and appreciation, and not about exposure and insult as in other casting shows. The audience council described the composition of the coaching team as a good choice. The various coaches impressed with their competence, credibility and authenticity. They succeeded in spreading a positive mood. In the opinion of several council members, however, the performance assessments could have been even clearer and more critical - in a positively constructive sense. This was because there would definitely have been differences in quality between the individual performances.

The web presence Thevoice.srf.ch was very well received by the audience council. It was visually convincing and offered a lot of additional information. The attempt to increase interaction with the audience via social media on "The Voice of Switzerland" was welcomed in principle by the Council. However, the integration of audience reactions into the live show was not yet satisfactory. For the audience on the screen, no added value was created by the Twitter messages presented. Most of them were too banal and meaningless.

"Virus TV": Original experimental cuisine

"Virus TV" is a cheeky, unconventional music talk show for the young and young at heart, according to the audience council. Depending on the guest, the show could also appeal to audience segments outside the Radio SRF Virus audience. The integration of radio, television and online is well underway. "Virus TV" is entertaining, but a little more depth in the conversations would do the show good.

A majority of the audience council was positively surprised by the still little-known program "Virus TV" on Friday evenings on SRF zwei. The Council welcomes the fact that such a program finds a place in SRF programming as a media and satire experiment. In the eyes of the audience council, "Virus TV" is fresh, varied, original and funny. The audience council judges the selection of guests to be broad and varied. This could also attract viewers outside the Virus target audience. The dual moderation by Anic Lautenschlager and Andi Rohrer is well received by the council.

While the entertainment value of the program is undisputed in the audience council, some council members rate the information content as relatively modest. "Virus TV" contains various elements and actions that make the program entertaining and varied. However, they do not always meet the taste of the entire council. Some council members, for example, find the ritualized trip to the toilet original, while others could do without it. Many find the outdoor activities funny and entertaining. For others, they sometimes spill over into annoyance.

The audience council describes the amount of interactivity and the online offering as appropriate and successful. The references to the website and Twitter are clear, but not obtrusive. The website of "Virus TV" is simple and clear. The audience council would like to be able to access the radio program online as well as the TV program.

The radio program on SRF Virus that follows "Virus TV" is also well received by the majority of the audience council. It is spontaneous and intensive, and in some cases offers more information content than the TV show. However, it is a particularly big challenge to transfer the TV audience to the radio.

Interbrand develops website for DER Touristik

Interbrand has developed the new brand identity for DER Touristik. The agency was commissioned to develop a new brand strategy, optimize the portfolio, and establish a corresponding positioning and brand identity.

According to a press release issued by the agency on Monday, the aim is to raise the profile of Rewe's tourism division as one of the market leaders in the German-speaking region and at the same time highlight the strengths of the individual brands. A large number of brands that have not yet been clearly positioned have made the group's portfolio extremely complex to date, making consistent, coordinated brand communication and thus group perception difficult.

Interbrand developed a differentiated umbrella brand strategy based on one of the lead brands from the existing portfolio. The company's core qualities - strong customer focus, high product diversity and quality as well as individual advice - were the starting point for the development of the new brand idea, according to the press release: DER Touristik creates an individual experience for everyone and turns dreams into tailor-made trips. In other words: "Dreams firmly under control". This guiding principle was also decisive for the development of the visual identity, which unites the group brand, sales and tour operator under one roof.

The three letters of the brand were given a new lettering, which together with the super symbol - the handle - forms a logo that can be used flexibly. Images of vacation situations are used for the sales brand, in which the individual customer wishes merge with the images through the so-called experience panorama as a multi-colored representation.
The group brand works with a formally similar visual world, but its content is more closely related to the theme of "new horizons" and is thus intended to point to perspectives and potential in the industry. Here, the super symbol is used to a greater extent and takes the place of the experience panorama.

Yjoo: Open the door for the Coop Annual Report 2012

For the second time, Yjoo Communications has designed the annual and sustainability report for the Coop Group. The focus: diversity and sustainability of the company.

The picture stories were once again realized in collage form. Yjooo has taken up the idea of the inviting open door and shows the entrance door of a Coop sales outlet on the fold-out outer cover. As soon as readers open the outer cover, they find themselves in the middle of the Coop world. The covers of the stand-alone annual and sustainability reports (AR/SNR) together form a panoramic image showing the Coop sales formats as well as Coop employees and customers.

The topic of sustainability was particularly emphasized in terms of content and is reflected in the image collages in both the Sustainability Report and the Annual Report. The visual focus is on providing a stage for the Coop Group. For this reason, a Coop supermarket was also chosen as the stage for the photos of the Executive Board and the Board of Directors. Yjoo slightly revised the typography concept of last year's AR/NHB with its different colors (AR in orange, NHB in green) and optimized the reader guidance.

The Coop Annual and Sustainability Report 2012 was published on April 12, 2013 with a total circulation of 8,200 copies (5,500 d, 1,200 f, 700 i, 800 e).

SRG flirts with women's quota

The SRG Executive Board consists only of men. According to the Sonntagszeitung, SRG President Raymond Loretan is considering introducing a quota for women as a measure.

When Roger de Weck formed his management team three years ago, not a single woman responded to the vacancies advertised. In a Interview In an interview with the Sonntagszeitung newspaper, he regretted this fact and described it as a sore point. When asked about the introduction of a women's quota, he referred to the Board of Directors.

In its current edition, the Sonntagszeitung therefore asks SRG Chairman of the Board of Directors Raymond Loretan. He is open to this measure, saying that this possibility should be discussed "without prejudice". A report is in the works. This will outline solutions as to how the lack of women on the SRG management board can be remedied. One possible approach - in addition to support programs - will be the introduction of a binding quota for women.

SRG, which is largely financed by license fees, would thus take on a pioneering role for the economy. (hae/sz)

Last but not least: Putin is (cleverly) positioning himself

If you haven't seen Jörg Schönenborn's Putin interview yet, you can catch up on it now—in a version that's even funnier than the original.

WDR editor-in-chief Jörg Schönenborn didn't get many flowers for the interview with Russia's head of state. The plan was to show a cornered Putin desperately trying to justify his understanding of democracy, which takes some getting used to. The title of the program: "Putin confronts himself". It turned out differently: Putin was obviously well prepared, threw facts at Schönenborn, provoked and soon took the lead in the conversation. In this respect, the Russian demand for an editor-in-chief as an interview partner was well understood. The WDR correspondent scheduled for the interview, Ina Ruck, who not only speaks Russian but, unlike Schönenborn, "Deep in the subject" was not admitted.

The blog Waschtrommler.org has provided the already curious interview with funny (but probably not completely out of thin air) thought bubbles, making the conversation even more worth seeing. (hae)
