Wirz Corporate stands for a comprehensive range of services in the field of corporate communications with the core competencies of public relations, corporate publishing and brand identity. All this offline and online, strategically and tactically. "With its working groups on these and other relevant topics and the high quality standards it sets for its members, the BPRA offers the ideal environment for the Wirz Group," says Urs Binggeli, Managing Director and co-owner of the Wirz Group, in a statement.
Contcept Communication is an agency with a focus on strategic media relations, publishing, product and personality PR. "Our credo is: We give your PR a face," says Managing Partner and owner Andreas Messerli. Thus, on the one hand, the agency shows its face as a press office and, on the other hand, advises personalities from all fields in PR and public relations. "For us, membership of the BPRA is an important step into the future."
"We are very pleased to welcome Wirz Corporate and Contcept Communication, two more industry-recognized agencies, to the BPRA," said Roman Geiser, president of the BPRA. "The BPRA seal of approval, as well as the association's quality initiative in CMS certification, differentiates the leading agencies in the market from small providers and from non-certified agencies."
Last but not least: Fear is a good salesman
The John St. agency is breaking new ground in hammering advertising messages into the minds of consumers: Traumatic experiences create lasting memories.

It's about putting people in the strongest emotion - fear, not love - and confronting them with the right advertising message when it is resolved. Couples are attacked in their sleep, mothers have their babies stolen - in order to communicate the redemptive message at the moment of despair, fear and confusion. According to the explanation, the adrenaline triggered by the fear anchors the brand directly in the brain. "Fear works. It's the easiest way to get attention."
The whole thing is of course an ironic satire by the agency on the viral shock videos with the hidden camera that have become fashionable and have also become regulars in this section (for example Telekinesis, End of the world, Mirror, Make-up, Friend, Lift). The whole thing is taken to the "next level", as everyone involved in these clips - including the victims - are actors anyway. Everything is real: not only real locations and victims, but also real criminals who are involved. The tongue-in-cheek dig at the competition is probably the only thing about "exFEARiental" that is meant seriously. (hae)

On November 20, 2013, just in time for Children's Day, the Pro UKBB Foundation (University Children's Hospital Basel) presented the children's book "Christmas at the Children's Hospital". It tells a Christmas story about Boby, the foundation's mascot. The children's book was drawn by Stevie Fiedler, Art Director of the Basel advertising agency Eyeloveyou. Eyeloveyou also created the new concept for the foundation's visual identity, which uses Boby the hand-drawn bear as an integral part of all measures.
Sporting ambassador in the limelight
A prominent ambassador is supporting the new direction of the Pro UKBB Foundation: Yann Sommer, goalkeeper for FC Basel 1893, brings smiles to the faces of children in the children's hospital. Eyeloveyou developed a photo concept and carried out the photo shoot to honor this commitment.
Pro UKBB in print and on the web
As an accompanying print measure, a leaflet has also been developed that summarizes the Foundation's new objectives in a concise manner and can be used as information material at stands and other activities.
The website has also been completely redeveloped Pro-ukbb.ch. It now presents itself as a contemporary responsive one-pager with content sections that can be scrolled sideways.
Responsible at Stiftung Pro UKBB: Rita Kohlermann (President of the Board of Trustees), Regula Gysin (Member of the Board of Trustees), Susanne Hostettler (Managing Director). Responsible at Eyeloveyou: Stevie Fiedler (design, concept), Oliver Kirschbaum (consulting, concept), Marleen Diener (project management), Stian Foss (photography), Arteria (programming).
Wirz for Migros: The true Christmas angels
Wirz designed this year's Christmas campaign for Migros. The campaign aims to show that it's not about a perfect Christmas, but about a happy Christmas for everyone.

November 25, 2013
In every Swiss household, someone makes it all seem easy and hassle-free during the Christmas season. Current sociological studies show that this is mostly women. And (unlike men...) it is less important to them whether everyone knows what they have set up, decorated or wrapped. Migros wants to say thank you to these people, the "true Christmas angels", so to speak.
Wirz, together with those responsible at Migros, has developed a campaign in the style of the communication guidelines that have been redefined since this year, which - typically Migros - does not follow the classic clichés of Christmas advertising. The campaign starts on October 28 and ends around Christmas.
Responsible at Migros: Marc Engelhard (Head of Marketing Communications), Roman Reichelt (Head of Umbrella Brand), Markus Wanner (Head of Market Development), Conradin Schaad (Head of Theme Promotions), Marta Mielcarek (Senior Project Manager Theme Promotions), Désirée Strassmann (Project Manager Umbrella), Miriam Benz (Project Manager Market Development), Nadine Delakowitz (Project Manager Media), Marc Zurbrügg (Junior Project Manager Theme Promotions). Responsible at Wirz: Chantal Heimo, Cornelia Eiwanger, Seun-Yun Oh (art direction); Vanessa Savi (graphics), Franziska Pennington (text), Hanspeter Schweizer (creative direction), Gordon Nemitz (strategic planning), Michèle Leibacher, Kristel Gschwend (consulting), Sebahat Derdiyok (agency producing). Tuna Production (TV production), Johan Tappert (direction), Hear Dis (music), Jingle Jungle (sound design). Tom Haller (photo). Süsstrunk Jericke (picture editing).
Tube Design developed a corporate identity for AMS All Mobile Service, including a mission statement, tagline, and a new corporate design.

The new homepage offers a picture of your region so that you feel at home at first glance and can find the most important regional information straight away. This is ensured by the quick access to the categories of popular regional topics such as "Food & Enjoyment", "Living & Crafts" and "Shopping". Restaurant tips from the region, special offers and the local weather round off this local access.
The restaurant magazine Local Flavors offers additional content. Tips and interviews provide information on all aspects of food and drink. Search support has also been improved. The system supports users as soon as they enter search terms, names and addresses and makes it easier to find the right restaurant. Suggestions.
New at Local.ch also the map display. This allows you not only to search for any address, but also to display services in the vicinity of this address, such as restaurants, bars or cinemas. Public transport stops are also displayed and timetables and delays can be viewed with a single click. An intelligent route planner is also part of the new map service.
The new Local.ch website has also been optimized for use on tablet computers. This makes using Local.ch on a tablet more convenient.
Three times Epica gold for Switzerland

"It's crazy. It never stops," Peter Brönnimann was delighted when Werbewoche was able to inform the creative director of Leo Burnett Switzerland about the new gold for his Swiss Life phrases. The new edition of the witty wisdom also made it into the discussion for a Grand Prix in Paris. However, after the agency - then still known as SFLB - had already been awarded this top prize in 2011 for the identical campaign, the jury wanted to be a little more creative in 2013, although it was clear to everyone that "the most sustainable ideas are actually the ones that can be continued endlessly". The Grand Prix Press therefore went to Namibia, where Young & Rubicam designed a very artistic poster for Landrover.
Switzerland also won gold in the Film Communication Services category. Swisscom won with the online video "Action Hero". The clip was produced by Swissfilmmakers GmbH, directed by Tobias Straka and filmed by Pascal Walder. At the Edi, the same film "only" made it to a nomination.
Patriotism with an eye on Germany
Another gold in the Consumer Services category went to a film about the campaign for the new Galaxy S4 at Zurich Central Station. Who's Mcqueen Pictures used 13 cameras to create an entertaining documentary about how passers-by were able to win the new smartphone if they could keep "all eyes on the Galaxy S4" despite numerous distractions. The work, produced by Philipp Petersson and Rainer Spix, has also just been awarded a Gold Edi. At the Epica Awards, however, the entry ran under the German flag because it was submitted by the Berlin agency Heimat.
A film series for Volvo has triggered a very emotional discussion within the jury. Forsman & Bodenfors in Sweden have shown a series of - in the true sense of the word - sensational films about Volvo trucks. All four films received the highest score in the anonymous voting. Nevertheless, the jury ultimately decided against the Film Grand Prix because the films were also a continuation of an existing campaign. An argument that some could not understand, because it is a crucial insight in advertising (as with the turnaround sentences) that the best concepts work in the long term and can therefore be revived again and again over the years. More on this in the next print edition of Werbewoche. In the end, the Film Grand Prix went to Denmark and the small fashion label "Made from cool". The cool clothes now want to conquer the world market with the help of a series of commercials in which Hollywood star Christopher Walken plays an amazingly "cool" role. The film "Hands" by the Nexus agency in England is absolutely worth seeing. The image production for Honda deservedly won gold in the animation category and was also in the running for a Grand Prix.
Which Swiss entries will be awarded bronze or silver will be determined in the next few hours on the basis of an in-depth evaluation of the votes. Advertising Week will stay tuned.
Epica goes global
Unlike most creative competitions, the Epica Awards jury is not made up of advertisers and creatives judging their own work, but representatives of the international trade press judging the best ideas. The journalists from 19 magazines spent four days last week awarding scores between 0 and 10. An extended pre-selection jury had previously drawn up the shortlists from 3397 entries via Internet voting. Active in Paris, the jury included delegates from Lürzer's Archiv (Germany), Brand News (Italy), Kampanje (Norway), New Moment (Serbia), Sostav (Russia) and Exchange4media (India) as well as Werbewoche.
The Epica competition is currently undergoing a period of change. After the company started as a purely European award 27 years ago, the new owners of Maydream around CEO Philippe Paget want to take the competition global. China, India and the USA are already involved. The upcoming award ceremony will take place for the first time in January "with a lot of symbolic character" in New Delhi. Conversely, agencies in Germany have somewhat withdrawn from the award after the Epicas no longer count towards the ranking in the trade magazine Horizont. Here too: Werbewoche is staying tuned!

As part of the fourth "Digital Marketing Award", outstanding projects and personalities were once again honored with the "Oscar" of the digital industry on November 21, 2013. IAB Switzerland welcomed over 450 guests at Kaufleuten Zurich, who were guided through the evening by presenter Claudio Zuccolini. The title of "Digital Marketer of the Year" went to the lottery company Swisslos. This year's winner was once again chosen in advance via an online vote in which over 6,000 people took part. In addition to Swisslos, the following companies were nominated: Maxomedia, Rent a Rentner, Ricardolino and Swisscom TV.
Mathias Strähl, Palmina Di Chiara, Petra Allemann and Katharina Kaiser (Swisslos)
Stefan Renninger (Romandie Network), Manuel P. Nappo (HWZ) and Thierry Jacot (Swisslos)
Manuel P. Nappo, Head of Social Media at the HWZ Hochschule für Wirtschaft Zürich and columnist for Werbewoche, is the new "Digital Pioneer of the Year". His great commitment to education and training in the digital market led the IAB Board as well as the IAB Specialist Group members to select him for the award. "With our study programs, we are committed to actively counteracting the lack of well-trained specialists in the industry and to providing interested parties with professional and comprehensive training or continuing education," says the award winner. The other contenders for the award were Andreas Jorgella (The House Agency) and Mark Forster (Adello).
An old acquaintance for Werbewoche readers: Manuel P. Nappo
Stefan Renninger was honored with the "Digital Lifetime Award" this year. In 1997, he founded his company Virtual Network, with which he is very successful in Switzerland as well as in France. Stefan Renninger was honored by the IAB Board for his commitment to digital issues in Western Switzerland.

In addition to the professionals of the digital industry, beginners also received an award. Once again this year, the three best graduates of the IAB diploma course "Digital Marketing for Beginners" were awarded prizes. So far, over 230 people have completed the course.
The event with over 450 guests has definitely established itself in the Swiss digital advertising market. "I am pleased that within 4 years we were able to establish an industry event that will no longer be removed from the Swiss event calendar. The many positive voices are a confirmation and a thank you for the great effort we are happy to put in again next year," says the president of the IAB, Ueli Weber. The "Digital Marketing Award" 2014 will take place again on November 13, 2014 at Kaufleuten Zurich.
First "Digital Marketing Summit": A Success
As part of the award event, the first "Digital Marketing Summit" was held on the afternoon of November 21, 2013 with over 200 VIP guests. The focus was on speeches, case presentations and a panel discussion with industry leaders. Frank Schneider, head of the Cologne-based trade show dmexco, kicked off the event with a brief look at the development of Europe's largest trade show for the digital industry. At its fifth edition, the show welcomed more than 740 exhibitors and 26,300 visitors. Schneider thanked those present for the lively interest and the large participation of Swiss companies since the start of demexco in 2009.

Andreas Schönenberger, SMAMA President, dealt in his presentation on the topic "Mobile devices are really getting smart" with the rapid technological development of smartphones, which more and more overtake the boldest ideas of science fiction in real terms. The incredibly powerful, miniaturized CPUs, the multi-sensors in nano-format and accelerated mobile networks open up possibilities that will further change not only the world of work, but all of life.
Andreas Schönenberger
In two case presentations, Samuel Christ, Creative Director at Jung von Matt/Limmat, and Bernhard Herzig, CEO at Maxomedia, and his Art Director Thomas Kägi, presented two projects that were awarded Bronze Lions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. "Webwanderdern - Eine virtuelle Reise entlang der legendären Albula-Bernina- Strecke" by the Rhaetian Railway, awarded in the category "User experience", simplifies the planning of hikes and makes it possible to experience them online. "Tricky Tracks," a 3D game for the SBB, also won a Lion in Cannes. Herzig and Kägi explained the idea and the path to the goal of their success.

Reto Hufenus, Head of Business Development Publisuisse, and Tobias Asch, Co-Founder of Filmwords, then spoke on the topic of "Second Screen: The Marriage of Online and TV." The two speakers showed the step from linearity to non-linearity and from media to consumption. Using the example of Zwap.tv, an app for watching TV together, they explained the connection with TV and the benefits for marketers, advertisers and media agencies.
Reto Hufenus
The last presentation was given by Karin Frick, Head of Research and Member of the Executive Board of the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute. She dealt with the often still diffuse hopes and fears of consumers as well as companies on the subject of Big Data. The exciting presentation "The Age of Transparency - From Customer Loyalty to Customer Liberation" used everyday examples to show how Big Data is changing the relationship between consumers and companies and thus our lives and experiences. It is no longer a matter of preventing the aggregation of data, but of controlling the insights gained from it.
Karin Frick
The summit concluded with a panel discussion on the topic of "Digital business models in Switzerland - is the market not scaling enough? Pascal Urscheler, Head Media & Product Management at Publicitas Digital, Andreas Widmer, CEO of Y&R Group Switzerland, Matthias Ehrlich, President of BVDW Germany, Manfred Strobl, CEO OmnicomMediaGroup Switzerland, Roland Ehrler, Managing Director of SWA Schweizer Werbe-Auftraggeberverband, and Philipp Scheidegger, Head of Advertising at Swisscom, explored the question of whether media agencies and marketers can still play an intermediary role in the relationship between advertisers and publishers in the future.
