Sophisticated campaign for Swiss month

To make the magazine more accessible to an audience interested in in-depth content, Havas Worldwide Zurich is advising and supporting *Schweizer Monat*. The agency is launching a campaign for which it collaborated with author Beat Gloor.

The demand for editorial substance is manifested in the new claim: "Unfortunately demanding!", according to a statement on Monday. The new campaign - a text-only campaign - is intended to show what the demanding readership gets out of reading: Namely, the recognition of new contexts.

In each of the text subjects, words are separated into their syllables. The play on words reveals new contexts to the viewer. The source of inspiration was Beat Gloor's work with book titles such as "Staat Sex Amen". Gloor agreed to collaborate with the agency. He was not only spiritus rector, but for once contributed as a copywriter. The fact that this is a somewhat more complex text campaign is intentional: After all, Schweizer Monat positions itself within the media world as "Unfortunately Demanding."

Cannes Lions: Expansion of the Cyber category

The Cannes Lions Festival, which will take place in June 2014, has announced significant changes to the «Cyber» category. Three new subcategories have been added, bringing the total number of subcategories in the «Cyber» category to 9.

The three new sub-categories "Social", "Branded Technology" and "Branded Games" have been added - with the aim of driving development in the modern media landscape. In addition to evaluating the reach and creative use of social networks, the "Social" category also assesses how networks contribute to achieving a commercial effect. The "Branded Technology" category evaluates how various technologies are used to position a brand in the best possible way. In "Branded Games", the jury evaluates submissions with the greatest possible creativity to specifically emphasize the experiential value of a brand.

The "Cyber" category now has a total of 9 sub-categories: "Craft", "WebCampaign", "Web Platforms", "Online Ad", "Online Video", "Social", "Branded Games", "Branded Technology", "Integrated Multiplatform Campaign".

Philipp Thomas, CEO Lions Festival: "The Cyber category has undergone many changes since its inception in 1988. Due to the ever-changing digital world and the introduction of the Mobile Lions in 2012, it has become more important to redefine the structure and purpose of the Cyber Lions and to constantly update it."

The Cannes Lions Festival also presents the innovations of the Cyber Lions in a video.

Last but not least: no false compromises

A frantic Doberhuahua in Audi's new TV commercial shows what can happen when you settle for poor compromises.

The TV commercial by Venables Bell & Partners USA for the Audi A3 shows a couple buying a dog. She wants a Doberman, he prefers a Cihuahua. So they get a Doberhuahua. The result is terrifying. Fortunately, Audi is not afraid of such half-hearted concessions. With the new Audi A3 Sedan, Audi offers a car for individualists who would rather look for the perfect solution than make a bad compromise, or so the message goes. (sis)

APG|SGA stages marriage proposal

Together with APG|SGA, Zermatt Bergbahnen staged a special moment in a couple’s life. The Matterhorn served as the backdrop for a marriage proposal at 3,883 meters above sea level. The idea came from the groom himself.

In August, the applicant contacted Zermatt Bergbahnen with the wish to have a large advertising space at the Matterhorn glacier paradise mountain station fitted with a personal poster of the couple and to propose to his long-time girlfriend after the cable car had arrived. Zermatt Bergbahnen and the outdoor advertising company APG|SGA supported the proposal campaign. The imposing canvas that was finally produced measured 340 by 160 centimetres and was enthroned on the highest viewing platform in the Alps, according to a press release issued on Monday.

In the run-up to the proposal, red heart-shaped hand warmers were distributed at Zurich main station and Bern station with the note "Where would you ask?" and the date of the proposal. Zermatt Bergbahnen and APG|SGA used social media channels to keep their fan communities guessing exactly what the question was until it was resolved.

Last but not least: Even an old woman understands that

Microsoft really put its foot in its mouth with a tweet. The current Twitter campaign was only meant to succinctly convey that the Windows Azure cloud service is really easy to use.

The tweet from @WindowsAzure shows a picture of an elderly woman and is accompanied by the words: "What do you do when your 68-year-old secretary needs Active Directory Multi-Factor Authentication? Ask Dear Azure." Windows Azure is so easy to use with the help of Dear Azure that even an older woman can do it. Not a good branding idea, according to many. Especially for the IT sector, which still lacks female specialists.
