Genuine Swiss folk art

Franz & René is launching a new advertising campaign for the Association Charcuterie vaudoise (ACV). These days, numerous ads are appearing throughout German- and French-speaking Switzerland, spotlighting the ACV’s two flagship IGP products.

ACV's two flagship products, Saucisse aux choux vaudoise IGP and Saucisson Vaudois IGP, form the core of the message. This is blunt and unaffected, just like the high-quality products themselves, according to the press release. The first six subjects are already on display, and many more will follow in the course of the campaign, which is planned to run for 3 years.

The campaign also shows that tradition and regional products can also stand in the sign of modernity. The texts and images take a modern approach. The product comes alone and takes center stage - a real star.

Children's detective adventure for the "Läufelfingerli"

Together with Tim and Lena, passengers on the «Läufelfingerli» (S9) solve a mysterious puzzle on their journey from Olten to Sissach. Werbekontor developed «The Missing Eagle» for SBB Regional Transportation to increase ridership on the S9 line.

The world has come to a standstill in Läufelfingen because one of the two eagles on the coat of arms has disappeared. Who stole it? Together with the two child detectives Tim and Lena, the passengers of the "Läufelfingerli" set off in search of the thief. At the end, a great reward awaits all the amateur detectives.

Werbekontor has designed a brochure for the detective adventure that contains the story, all the information and other tips for excursions. There are also eight different F4 posters along the route, which show individual characters from the story with a solution letter. All the solution letters result in a solution word and thus the location of the missing eagle. Whoever finds the eagle receives a reward.

The detective adventure is advertised with advertisements, rail posters and on the Internet. Werbekontor has also produced beach flags, buttons, stickers and signposts.

UBS youth campaign "Best Friends

The bank is launching a selfie contest in partnership with the youth channel Joiz.

Digital self-portraits are in vogue and an integral part of social media. UBS is tapping into this dynamic with its "Best Friends" campaign and, together with Joiz, is calling on young people to upload a "selfie" with their best friend to Ubs.com/young. All participants will be entered into a draw for 20 weekend trips worth a total of 50,000 Swiss francs and 50 weekly cinema packages, each with four single admissions. The campaign will run for eleven weeks and will remain online until October 31, 2014. The aim of UBS "Best Friends" is to attract new clients and increase awareness among the target group.

As part of the campaign, various youth-savvy online advertising channels are served to ensure an optimal media mix between branding, performance, and engagement. Social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Google plus, and Tumblr enable sharing with friends. This creates more contact points and thus participants.

With a bit of luck, the "selfie" will even make it onto national TV. Thanks to the media cooperation with the TV station Joiz, which has an affinity with the target group, the campaign achieves even more entertainment value, attention and contacts by means of cross-media interaction between TV and social media. In six ultimate "selfie tutorials," Joiz inspires and motivates the target group to participate in the UBS competition. The participants of the most original "selfies" are invited to tell something about the picture or the friendship behind it in one of four live broadcasts throughout Switzerland.

To emotionally reinforce the theme of friendship, a mood film was created at the same time, showcasing the two actors from the shoot and calling on them to take part in the competition. The film is a main component of the campaign as well as the online and social media advertising materials.

Responsible at UBS: Daniel Fischer (Head of Marketing, UBS Switzerland), Lucia Bucheli (Marketing Key Account Management Private Clients), Martha Braide, (Campaign Manager, Marketing), Markus Stöckle (Online Marketing). Responsible at The House Agency: Andreas Jorgella (Consulting/Partner). Responsible at Joiz: Dominik Stroppel (CEO).

Bantiger Post goes to Vetter Druck from Thun

Vetter Druck, based in Thun, will take over the *Bantiger Post* from Espace Media effective December 19, 2014. The *Bantiger Post* is a local newspaper and the official publication of community organizations in the Worblental valley.

The Bantiger Post was founded in 1947 by printer Charles Schoch in Ostermundigen. In 1995, Espace Media took a stake in the free newspaper, which, in addition to editorial contributions, also publishes current community news and offers a service portal at Bantigerpost.ch operates. The sale to a locally anchored print shop thus closes the circle after more than 67 years, according to a Tamedia statement. The new owners will continue to run the business as before and take over the existing team. Espace Media and Vetter Druck already cooperate closely in the production and distribution of the Thuner Amtsanzeiger.

The Bantiger Post is distributed to every household in the municipalities of Bolligen, Ittigen, Ostermundigen as well as Bern-Burgfeld, Stettlen and Vechigen/Boll/Utzingen and thus achieves a coverage of almost 100 percent. With a normal circulation of 22'321 copies and a large circulation of 27'578 copies, Bantiger Post concentrates on an economically strong and lucrative area for traders with a low scattering loss. The parties have agreed not to disclose details of the sale, according to the statement.

Goldbach Interactive: Follow-up campaign for Anibis.ch

Goldbach Interactive's campaign for Anibis.ch is entering its second round. Back again: the two main characters, Ani and Bis.

They advertise the diversity of Switzerland's largest classifieds portal in 15 different TV spots. Adapted print and poster subjects and a wide variety of online advertising media flank the TV campaign. Originally popular mainly in French-speaking Switzerland, a first wave of campaigns at the end of 2013 made the portal Anibis.ch also known in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. According to the press release, the second wave is intended to build on this success. The aim is to increase brand awareness and also the number of advertisements in German- and French-speaking Switzerland.

Artikelbild_1

Conceived and realized by Goldbach Interactive, the current work uses last year's most successful channels TV, print and poster to proclaim the well-known Anibis.ch slogan: "Act now!". To illustrate the variety of products on offer, Goldbach Interactive has produced an exceptionally large number of TV spots: A total of 15 variants will be seen. In French-speaking Switzerland, posters are to attract attention.

Large-format online advertising media accompany the offline measures throughout Switzerland. Unlike last year, they no longer link to a campaign microsite, but directly to anibis.ch. A competition will soon be launched there to encourage visitors to stay even longer and discover the colorful and varied product world at length.

Swiss online magazine for all-wheel-drive enthusiasts launched

4x4schweiz.ch is the first online magazine for 4x4 enthusiasts and fans. Founder Sascha Knauer is pleased with the launch.

"After our soft launch on August 1, 2014, we can already present very good figures with 25,000 unique readers and 75,000 page impressions per month just six weeks after the launch," says Sascha Knauer, founder and publisher of 4x4Schweiz.ch. The 4×4 vehicle segment has been making such rapid progress for years. The trend towards all-wheel drive vehicles has existed for some time, but has become more pronounced in recent years. According to the Federal Statistical Office, new registrations of 4×4 vehicles in Switzerland reached a new high of 32.3% in 2012. In other words, every third new car in Switzerland has four-wheel drive. In the first eight months of the current year, new registrations already averaged 37.5 percent (source: Astra/Mofis/Auto-Schweiz).

"We are not in competition with the print media. There will always be readers who don't want to do without their usual paper reading," continues Sascha Knauer. "With a fresh approach and the integration of social media, we want to offer readers a multimedia overview of the all-wheel drive range in Switzerland. Our readers are young and young at heart, familiar with new and social media. Although they are predominantly male (70 percent), thanks to the medium and layout, we already have 30 percent female readers who are interested in 4×4, all-wheel drive, 4matic, 4motion, 4WD, AWD and Xdrive."

4x4Schweiz_Logo

Behind 4x4switzerland.ch is a young but experienced and creative team. All coming from a communications background, they want to offer new opportunities for both readers and automotive brands with a lot of passion and a fresh approach, according to the press release. "Our to-do list is still long," says Knauer, "but we are making good progress and will be able to offer an overview of the entire Swiss all-wheel drive market in three languages by the 2015 Motor Show at the latest."

CR Basel: Posters between Delusion and Reality

Set against real-life backdrops, posters in Basel are catching people’s attention. The reason: A compelling campaign by CR Basel is raising awareness about the challenges faced by people with psychosis.

With the awareness campaign "Delusion or Reality?", the Basel-Stadt Health Department and CR Basel are drawing attention to the complex world and problems of people suffering from psychosis. Psychosis is an umbrella term for disorders in which there is a change in perception and thinking in those affected. The best known form is schizophrenia. Regardless of gender, cultural background or income level, approximately 0.5 percent of the population, or one in 200, will develop a psychosis during their lifetime. As with a serious physical illness, the symptoms of the disease often lead to sufferers being secondarily incapacitated and no longer being able to organize their lives as usual. With appropriate treatment, many patients can be cured of schizophrenic psychosis today, especially if diagnosed early. But even later, those affected can be helped to the point where they are able to manage their lives relatively independently again.

GBS sets an example

The Basel-Stadt Health Department (GBS), which operates under the label of Allgutebasel.ch has been doing highly regarded communications work in various areas for years, is devoting its current awareness campaign, again designed and realized by cr basel advertising agency, to the key issue of psychosis. For good reason: because people with psychosis suffer doubly, as they are confronted with serious social prejudices and this often leads to disadvantages, for example when looking for a job or an apartment. For the "Delusion or Reality?" poster campaign, the agency conducted an elaborate site search in order to be able to place the messages both in well-frequented locations and in locations that are ideally suited to the more than 30 individual motifs - especially since it is both a convincing and decisive dramaturgical point that the posters are integrated precisely into real worlds. The subjects represent exemplary impressions and visions of the kind that can afflict people suffering from psychosis. Depending on the viewer's point of view, this can be simply interesting, or it can be depressing. In short: "For you a poster. For psychosis sufferers reality.", as the subline on the posters says.

The skilfully staged visual play with delusion or reality sets strong signals to deal with the topic. Further and detailed information can be found in topic-specific flyers, which are also available in streetcars, as well as at Allgutebasel.ch.

New digital magazine discovers neighborhoods

The digital magazine Mirus introduces readers to lesser-known neighborhoods in well-known cities. It kicks off with Poble Nou in Barcelona. The first issue is 158 pages long—and can be viewed online for free.

Mirus means "amazing, striking, wonderful" in Latin. However, the name now also stands for exciting and exclusively produced stories about previously unknown neighborhoods in major international cities. Mirus is neither based on an app nor is it a blog. Mirus is an easily accessible online magazine for locally interested globalists.
In terms of content, Mirus focuses on little-noticed neighborhoods and districts of major cities. The first issue takes a close look at the Poble Nou neighborhood in Barcelona. At the turn of the century, Poble Nou was regarded as an industrial prodigy with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. At its peak, the district was home to up to 800 factories. However, the end of the industrial age led to a fundamental upheaval in Poble Nou.

Bildschirmfoto-2014-09-23-um-18.15.45

Today, Poble Nou is probably the most interesting district in Barcelona - with great potential and a high density of innovative companies. And yet the district is hardly known. Tourists rarely stray here. This is precisely the concept behind Mirus, says Stefan Jermann, the founder of Mirus: "We are not interested in attractions, guides and sights in the conventional sense." Mirus is neither a travel magazine nor a trendsetter. Rather, it is intended to encourage people to go on a "micro" discovery tour themselves - to see places, corners and people with new eyes.

Bildschirmfoto-2014-09-23-um-18.15.54

The protagonists of Mirus are the "local heroes": Nyamnyam - a couple who organize a kind of gourmet art performance in their apartment. Or Erika Lust, who specializes in erotic films for women and has enjoyed worldwide success with them. But also "La Escocesa", a former factory that now houses art studios for up-and-coming talents.
Mirus is produced in Zurich, but sees itself as an international and therefore English-language magazine that aims to appeal to "global nomads with a local attitude". Mirus is published four times a year. The next issues will be dedicated to unknown neighborhoods in Sarajevo, Lisbon and Rotterdam.
