Swiss Music Radio sees no potential for DAB for the time being

The broadcaster Swiss Music Radio had to reorient itself after the Uvek did not grant it a digital radio license (DAB+) last summer. It is now joining the European HD Radio Alliance (EHDRA).

The broadcaster Swiss Music Radio had to reorient itself after the Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) refused to grant it a digital radio license (DAB+) last summer. He now sees good things in the negative decision: it could be possible that the Leuenberger department has saved Swiss Music Radio from "a gigantic bad investment", the broadcaster announced. This is because DAB is unlikely to make a breakthrough in the next five years. The Swiss music-oriented channel has therefore decided to join the European HD Radio Alliance (EHDRA). According to the press release, HD radio not only doubles the capacity of the FM band, but also improves reception quality. Swiss Music Radio is hoping for "a great opportunity" to be broadcast as a second station on FM in the future. The station will be transmitted via cable and satellite.

High voltage turns on the morning mood for "Ufsteller"

The Hochspannung agency has created a rotating ad for Radio 24, aiming to put an end to those grumpy mornings.

The Hochspannung agency has created an advertisement with a twist for Radio 24, aiming to put an end to the days of ugly mornings. Since April 7, 2008, Patrick Hässig has been hosting the show "Ufsteller" and is supposed to put even morning grouches in a good mood.
Hochspannung has implemented this innovation in moderation in an advertisement and is literally turning the morning mood. The reader only gets the resolution of the advertisement when he turns it 180 degrees. Patrick Hässig accompanied the broadcast launch with a croissant distribution campaign at the main station, Stadelhofen station and Enge station.
The Zurich agency Hochspannung announced last week that it had secured the budget for Radio 24 and Tele Züri (see

Last but not least: Waiting for the Böögg

This year's Sechseläuten in Zurich was exciting. For the journalists in attendance, the burning of the Böögg proved to be an absolute thrill. For *Die Weltwoche*, this provided yet another opportunity to get to the bottom of the matter with uncompromising rigor.

This year's Zurich Sechseläuten was exciting: it took 26 minutes and one second for the Böögg to finally lose its head. These were nerve-wracking minutes not only for the Walker advertising agency as they waited for the starting signal for their bratwurst campaign. It was also challenging for the journalists present. After all, something had to be offered before the Böögg exploded. One guest after another graced the podium at Tele Züri. Among them was Weltwoche boss Roger Köppel, who first noted that the rainy festival was hardly about global warming. Instead, he praised Zurich's beautiful women, who apparently provided him with a hot afternoon despite the huddle weather. When the Böögg finally let off the first firecrackers, Köppel was quickly pushed out of the picture. But the blazing Böögg didn't make it easy for the television crew: was the climax already over, they wondered, when all that was left was a burning stick? A quick glance at state television - it was still measuring the time, so let's continue with the text. Finally, at 6.26 p.m.: the final, redeeming explosion at the Böögg head. Köppel's comment: "And who said all this time that there was still a firecracker in there?". You guessed it: Weltwoche (namely the boss himself) had once again done the right research.

A "black zero" for Tele Ticino

For the third consecutive year, the Ticino-based private television station Tele Ticino broke even in 2007, according to Board of Directors delegate Filippo Lombardi. The radio station 3iii, operated by Tele Ticino, increased its revenue by 50 percent.

For the third year in a row, Ticino's private television station Tele Ticino achieved a black zero in 2007, as announced by Board Delegate Filippo Lombardi on Monday. Annual turnover climbed by 14 percent to 6.4 million francs, while costs remained at a cash flow of 320,000 francs. The station currently has 50 employees. It is hoping for a new license as a regional broadcaster with a performance mandate and a share of fees. At the same time, Lombardi reported the annual results of the local radio station Radio 3iii, which has been operated by Tele Ticino since January 2007 with a 42 percent shareholding, for the first time. Last year, the radio station experienced a boom, Lombardi continued, with a 50 percent increase in annual turnover to CHF 1.5 million and a profit after depreciation and tax of CHF 65,000. This reduces the losses of the past.
Finally, there is also the separation of the information portal Ticinonews.ch from Tele Ticino. The portal has been owned by the independent public limited company Ticinonews since the end of 2007, but is also managed operationally by TeleTicino and should be able to finance itself as early as 2008.

Ogilvy Interactive asks for a Rorschach test for Alfa Romeo

Just in time for the spring sales season, Ogilvy Interactive is launching a sales campaign for Alfa Romeo dealers. At the heart of the campaign is an online platform where dealers can offer various models at special prices.

Ogilvy Interactive is launching a sales campaign for Alfa Romeo dealers just in time for the spring business. The centerpiece is an Internet platform on which dealers can offer various models at special conditions. Existing and prospective customers are made aware of the Internet platform online with Google ads, e-mailings and a banner. In order to generate as much traffic as possible to the site, local radio spots, advertisements in newspapers and a mailing to Alfa Romeo drivers support the online measures. Ogilvy Interactive worked hand in hand with Ogilvy One, as detailed in a press release.
The creative hook for the campaign is the Rorschach test. The campaign subliminally poses the question: "Are you an Alfista?". Six additional pipe shaft test images can be seen in the mailing and on the Internet platform. The addressee can use them to find out which "Alfista" they are and which model suits them best.
Responsible at Alfa Romeo:

Radio 1 has made its first personnel change. The new Zurich-based local station and former «Music Star» host Nina Havel have recently parted ways quietly.

Radio 1 has made its first personnel change. The new Zurich local station and former "Music Star" presenter Nina Havel have recently parted ways quietly. Editorial director Sandro Brotz confirmed a corresponding report from Presseverein.ch to Werbewoche. "Unfortunately, it didn't work out. That's why we sat down together and decided to end our collaboration." Brotz expressed his sincere thanks for Havel's commitment. He did not want to go into the exact circumstances. "There is nothing to investigate. Such a step is not very pleasant for either side." However, Brotz has already found a replacement for Havel. Former Radio24 and TeleZüri employee Christian Handelsmann has been hosting Havel's four-hour program "My Song" since last Saturday. Brotz said of his new part-time employee that he could also imagine employing the experienced radio man for vacation replacements and other projects.

Last but not least: The new favorite topic on Werdstrasse

An aggressive Bruce Willis, an unwittingly revealing Paris Hilton, a completely deranged Britney Spears: Almost everyone is interested in the private escapades of the big stars from overseas. Especially the editorial staff at Tamedia.

An aggressive Bruce Willis, an involuntarily revealing Paris Hilton, a completely deranged Britney Spears: almost everyone is interested in the private escapades of the big stars from overseas. Some spend money on it and buy specialized magazines, others follow the entries in celebrity blogs or occasionally read the odd boulvard report on one of the big Swiss media websites in the office. A small dose every day is enough for most people. Most people. The Tamedia editorial offices on Zurich's Werdstrasse seem to be really caught up in the celebrity intimacy frenzy at the moment.
It is no longer just the commuter newspaper 20 Minuten, which traditionally devotes space to Hollywood gossip in its daily edition, but also the Tages-Anzeiger, the Sonntagszeitung and the Magazin that have recently been reporting more and more diligently on paparazzi and celebrity-watching, "Stars & Cars", use Britney Spears to explain the connection between alcoholism and mental disorders, talk about the question of guilt in relation to the self-destruction of stars and print all the pictures that are otherwise only seen in the Anglo-Saxon tabloids. Please give Mr. Hardmeier a wide-angle lens and a vacation in Los Angeles. There are other cultural phenomena that deserve at least as much attention.

Every day, visitors to Swiss museums can discover treasures, curiosities, and rarities. But on International Museum Day on May 18, 2008, they’ll be treated to even more.

Dinosaurs, clocks, toys, chocolate, streetcars, cacti and much more: people can discover treasures, curiosities and rarities in Swiss museums every day.
