As of October 1, Tilllate is presenting itself with a new look and new functions. The night owl portal developed the design together with Wirz Corporate and Assai Interactive. The Zeix team provided advice on user-friendliness issues.
The new design is intended to transform Tilllate into a sophisticated "lifestyle magazine" with larger photo views, more precise advertising options and new features, according to Markus Popp, co-founder of the platform. Simplified navigation, which is limited to the main points of photos, calendar and community, should make it easier for the more than 2.5 million users to use.
The entire software was completely reprogrammed for the overhaul, allowing innovations to be implemented more quickly, says Silvan Mühlemann, CTO of Tilllate, in a press release. The new ad server improves both the reliability of advertising campaigns and the options for placing them. For example, various positions for rectangles have been created as part of the redesign.
The comprehensive renewal is the first relaunch since the nightlife portal was founded eight years ago. The complete reprogramming explains the long project duration of almost two years.

New layout and concept give Le Matin a new look

The relaunch of Le Matin was announced a long time ago, and on Tuesday the French tabloid appeared for the first time in a new form, with a new logo and new font. The newspaper from Edipresse continues to appear in tabloid format and, contrary to what was announced, the concept color has also remained orange.

The relaunch of Le Matin has been announced for a long time - first in the spring of this year, then at the end of the summer vacation. Now it has been realized: on Tuesday, the tabloid newspaper appeared for the first time in a new form, with a new logo and different fonts. The Edipresse newspaper continues to appear in tabloid format and, contrary to what was announced, the concept color has also remained orange.
Le Matin also used the formal changes to make changes to its content. A repositioning, a clear differentiation between paid and free papers could be the last chance for the paid daily newspaper, which is suffering from free competition. With more in-depth research, more character, more opinions, more debates, more cheekiness, more human traits and more value for readers, Le Matin will set itself apart from the competition, the new editor-in-chief Ariane Dayer told Werbewoche. The tabloid wants to ask the right questions about events in Switzerland, abroad and in the People section.
At the same time, Le Matin wants to help its readers to find their way through the daily flood of news and provide them with advice, as reported by SDA. In its first issue, the newspaper gives ten pieces of advice on how people should invest their assets in the face of the financial crisis. There were also four additional pages with shopping suggestions, television and cinema programs. As before, sport plays an important role, with around 16 of the 56 pages devoted to it. The last page has been converted into a weather page.

JWT+H+F: Catching customers with grammatical errors for Mastro Lorenzo

The Zurich agency JWT+H+F has just launched the second wave of campaigns for the coffee manufacturer Mastro Lorenzo with ex-Miss Christa Rigozzi. This time, the campaign plays on the charm of the Ticino native's not entirely flawless German.

Because the previous campaigns of the coffee manufacturer Mastro Lorenzo were not so well received in Switzerland, the Zurich agency JWT+H+F hired ex-Miss Switzerland Christa Rigozzi as a brand ambassador in the spring to perfectly combine Italianità and Switzerland. With this in mind, the first wave of the campaign was launched in April and is now being followed by the second. Since then, Rigozzi has once again been very present in TV sponsorship, on billboards and in advertisements.
The highly personalized campaign also advertises with the charming, not entirely flawless German of the Ticino native. For example, the natural blonde unambiguously breathes phrases such as "I love his strong body" from the ads. Rigozzi is also out and about in the flesh for the Kraft Foods coffee brand, on a tour from Winterthur to Zurich, where she often makes a spontaneous stop and offers passers-by a cup of Mastro Lorenzo, according to a press release. The only fly in the ointment is the apparent lack of coordination with the personalized campaign. Website by Mastro Lorenzo.

End of discussion: Swiss advertising leaves SAWI sponsorship

The Executive Board of Swiss Advertising (SW) has decided to withdraw from the SAWI’s governing body. The reason for this is a difference of opinion regarding the training institute’s strategic direction. The withdrawal marks a «final chapter» in the long discussions between SAWI’s management and SW, according to a statement made to Werbewoche.

The Board of Schweizer Werbung SW has decided to withdraw from the sponsorship of the Swiss Training Center for Marketing, Advertising and Communication (SAWI). Differences of opinion between the SW board and a majority of the SAWI school board regarding the future strategic direction of the training center were the decisive factor in this decision, according to a press release.
This step was preceded by lengthy discussions between SAWI and SW, but the two parties were unable to reach an agreement. The topics were content-related, organizational and personnel issues in connection with the institute's future strategy. The presidents have agreed not to disclose the details, as reported by Schweizer Werbung.
Nevertheless, SW told Werbewoche that the resignation was a regrettable but, under the circumstances, unavoidable "conclusion" to the many discussions. However, a return to involvement with SAWI has not been categorically ruled out. The largest group among the sponsoring companies, the Association of Swiss Advertising Companies VSW, did not wish to comment on the withdrawal for the time being.
At the next SAWI General Assembly, one of the founding members and the group with the second largest number of votes, the SW, will leave the sponsorship. The five SW members of the SAWI School Board will also be making their mandates available at the General Assembly. The SAWI membership of the associations united under the umbrella of the SW remains unaffected by this decision.

Cosmic promotes the Suisse-Garantie label

The Cosmic agency has produced a TV commercial for the Swiss quality label Suisse Garantie. The 30-second spot is intended to raise awareness of the Swiss agricultural quality seal and reinforce the core messages of Suisse Garantie.

The Cosmic agency has produced a TV advertisement for the domestic quality label Suisse Garantie. The 30-second commercial is intended to increase awareness of the Swiss agricultural quality label and anchor the central messages of Suisse Garantie - animal and environmentally friendly, GMO-free, controlled and 100% Swiss agricultural products.
Television advertising covers the most important sectors of Swiss agriculture. Job descriptions from individual sectors and foodstuffs, including milk and dairy products, meat, vegetables and fruit, are staged. Seamless transitions link the individual sequences together, making the commercial look like a continuous story. The makers of the TV commercial were particularly keen to use an honest and authentic tone. No actors or models were hired for the shoot, instead real representatives from the industry were brought in front of the lens.
To the spot
Suisse Garantie sales bags were designed in parallel with the television advertising. Producers and sellers from the agricultural segment are depicted in an idyllic mountain landscape together with the label's food products.
The TV commercial will run from the end of September at prime time on SF1, SF2, TNC, TRC, TSR1, TSR2, M6, TSI1 and TSI2.

Advertising agency stages the "moneyed aristocracy in the countryside" for the Zürcher Landzeitung newspaper

Werbeanstalt Schweiz is realizing a new campaign for the Zürcher Landzeitung. The campaign focuses on the above-average purchasing power of the districts around the city of Zurich and thus the Zürcher Landzeitung's circulation area. The Bern-based agency is responsible for all B2B communication for the newspaper group on behalf of Publicitas.

Werbeanstalt Schweiz is realizing a new campaign for the Zürcher Landzeitung, the association of the Zürichseezeitung, Zürcher Oberländer and Zürcher Unterländer. It focuses on the above-average purchasing power of the districts around the city of Zurich and thus the Zürcher Landzeitung's scattering area. According to the agency, around 20 percent of all household spending in German-speaking Switzerland takes place in this region. The campaign therefore advises that advertisements should ideally be placed "where the moneyed gentry in the countryside are located".
On behalf of Publicitas, the advertising agency is responsible for all B2B communication for the newspaper group. Advertisements and direct mailings are used in the advertising campaign.
The Zürcher Landzeitung is published in the canton of Zurich with the exception of the cities of Zurich and Winterthur as well as parts of the cantons of Schwyz and St. Gallen. With a paid circulation of 105,000 copies, it is one of the ten largest daily newspapers in German-speaking Switzerland. Unlike its closest competitor, the Tages-Anzeiger, Verbund was the only paid daily newspaper in Switzerland to increase its readership by 6.6 percent (Mach Basic 2008-2). The new claim "Advertise more successfully: in Verbund" confidently refers to these success statistics.

Last but not least: For an espresso with Christa

The new ad campaign by Italian coffee maker Mastro Lorenzo, featuring former Miss Christa Rigozzi, draws heavily on elements from art, trash TV, and journalism. Frank A. Meyer also served as a model.

Italian coffee manufacturer Mastro Lorenzo's new campaign featuring ex-Miss Switzerland Christa Rigozzi is not short of borrowings from art, TV trash and journalism. At first it's hard to miss Leonardo's smile on the Mona Lisa. Christa doesn't really smile, but she doesn't look serious either. Just like her famous role model. Only the bra strap is a little irritating.
Then the deliberate mistake in the claim "I love everyone's strengths" immediately brings to mind Verona Feldbusch's "You'll be helped", an extremely successful advertising slogan for telephone services. In a variation on this successful model, the intention here seems to have been to launch the "sweet Ticinese woman with a speech impediment" scam with a multiple yay factor.
The homage to Marc Walder's column "Auf einen Espresso mit Frank A. Meyer" in the Sonntagsblick magazine, which itself is a kind of Cancer League-appropriate version of "Auf eine Zigarette mit Helmut Schmidt" in Die Zeit, is somewhat more concealed. Of course, you might say that's a bit far-fetched. But it certainly looks like "For an espresso with Christa Rigozzi".

Sunrise takes over Tele 2 Switzerland

Consolidation in the Swiss telecommunications market: Sunrise is acquiring the Swiss subsidiary of the Swedish conglomerate Tele 2 for 50 million Swiss francs. The Tele 2 Switzerland brand will be retained, and its 54 employees will be retained. The Competition Commission must still approve the deal.

Concentration on the Swiss telecommunications market: Sunrise is buying the Swiss branch of the major Swedish group Tele 2 for 50 million Swiss francs. The Tele 2 Switzerland brand will be retained and its 54 employees will be taken over, Sunrise announced.
"This takeover is about strengthening our position on the market," Sunrise CEO Christoph Brand told the SDA news agency on Monday. Sunrise, a subsidiary of the Danish group TDC, is already the number two on the Swiss market after Swisscom with a market share of around 20 percent.
The Swedish parent company justifies the sale primarily with the political framework conditions in Switzerland, which favor the former monopolist more than in any other European country: lengthy procedures and unrealistic methods for evaluating the historical network infrastructure prevent a competitive dynamic in favor of end customers.
Sunrise currently has around 2.3 million customers in Switzerland. Tele 2 Switzerland has around 420,000 customers, 300,000 of whom are landline customers. Sunrise is working specifically to expand its customer base in the fixed network at the expense of its main competitor Swisscom.
Sunrise assures that the planned takeover will not change anything for Tele 2 customers. Tele 2's existing services in the fixed network, mobile and Internet sectors will continue.
The 54 employees of Tele 2 Switzerland should not experience any unpleasant surprises either. Sunrise has announced that, in consultation with the employee representatives and the communications union, they will be kept on and will continue to be employed at their original workplace or within Sunrise for the time being.
The planned takeover is now being examined by the Competition Commission (WeKo). Sunrise expects the takeover of Tele 2 to be waved through without any problems.

Schneider, Berthoud and SMP merge to form BSSM advertising agency

The two Basel-based advertising agencies, Schneider, Berthoud and Schenk, Müller & Partner, are merging to form BSSM Advertising Agency. With a staff of 20, the owner-managed agency hopes to be able to secure larger contracts.

The two Basel advertising agencies Schneider, Berthoud and Schenk, Müller & Partner (SMP) are merging to form BSSM Werbeagentur on October 1, 2008. The new agency is managed by the owners and starts with just under twenty people at Hardstrasse 43 in Basel.
Apparently, after many years of consolidation in both companies, intensive thought was given to the business future. The fact that a second advertising agency with comparable characteristics was pursuing the same thoughts was a stroke of luck, Roger Berthoud announced in a communiqué.
With the merger, the two companies want to broaden the range of services and achieve the agency strength required for larger orders. Anyone who wants to survive in the national and international advertising market needs a complete range of specialized services, the statement continues.
The management of the BSSM advertising agency consists of the four owners who are actively involved in the agency. Roger Berthoud is the managing director and is in charge of consulting. Hannes Müller is his deputy and responsible for text and concept. Urs Schneider is Creative Director and Rolf Schenk his deputy. The latter each lead a creative unit.
BSSM offers strategy and consulting, creation and realization in all branches of the
corporate and marketing communications. BSSM's client portfolio includes Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank, Cellpack, Coop, Doetsch Grether, Franke, Kestenholz, Haecky and the Grandhotels Bellevue and Les Trois Rois.
