Cannes Lions - the m&k aftermovie with wanderlust guaranteed

No recap, no best-of. This aftermovie condenses six days of Cannes into one feeling. For everyone who wasn't there - and for those who like to remember.

Some say: Cannes no longer needs it. Too loud, too expensive, too over-the-top. Others say: once you've been there, you understand why this place is needed.

Our m&k aftermovie captures what is hard to grasp: the in-between. Between panels and parties. Between beach and statements. Between advertising and impact.

For just under seven minutes, the film tells the story not in numbers and awards, but in moments - captured with a tool that has long been an integral part of journalistic luggage: the smartphone.

The m&k team with editor-in-chief Anna Kohler and multimedia editor Beat Hürlimann spent six days on the road together: at talks, at the Swiss BBQ, on Charlton Beach, in the Palais, in conversation.

Arthur SadounCEO of Publicis Groupe, reminded us what it's all about:
"The task is to transform the customer's business through creativity - driven by data, enabled by technology and accelerated by AI."

David Droga said:
"We need to build things that people care about - not just things they scroll past."

And Dennis May, new Chief Creative Officer Leo EMEA, put it in a nutshell:
"Creativity is not an add-on. It is the solution."

This aftermovie does not want to give an answer. It wants to leave a feeling. And when the fireworks explode over Charlton Beach at the end, it's clear that anyone who was here will take something away with them. And those who weren't, perhaps also - at least for seven minutes.
