The project application with the thematic focus "Wine and Knowledge" has now been approved with a term from 2016 to 2018. The aim is to promote the attractiveness of the four-country region of Lake Constance with offers and products that convey knowledge. Increased attention is being paid to the wine public from near and far who are interested in the subject. The offers and products newly developed under these aspects are to benefit guests as well as locals in a sustainable and seasonal way. The Lake Constance wine region would now also like to increasingly involve gastronomy and the hotel industry.Good start for first runtimeDuring the first project period from 2012 to 2014, the guiding goal was to let the individual regions grow together into an international wine region with a common Lake Constance identity through the strong common theme of "wine tourism" that encompasses the entire lake. The project has since developed successfully. After one year of independence, innovative ideas and plans led to a new funding application. The second phaseThe topic of "knowledge transfer and knowledge dissemination" is to form the future focus of the next term and thus support the Lake Constance wine region to establish itself even more strongly. The network, which was primarily created under tourism aspects, is now to serve to exchange different experiences and knowledge among the winegrowers and tourists. The aim is to attract knowledge from outside and to pass it on. The cooperation with further education institutions, especially with sommelier and vocational schools as well as research and teaching institutes in the field of viticulture and fruit growing, but also universities for tourism is classified as forward-looking. Workshops, seminars as well as expert trips to the wine region of Lake Constance and the training of wine culture guides are planned. The development of cross-border tours and routes will continue to be promoted. Quality standards for the development of wine tourism products under target group-oriented and economic aspects: regional, seasonal and cross-border are to be developed as an aid for winegrowers and tourism experts. As a crowning finale, an international congress is planned for 2018, specifically tailored to current topics and issues in the wine industry and tourism.
