Publicis Media has clearly won the 2025 Swiss new business race. According to the «Final 2025 Switzerland New Business Barometer» study by Comvergence, the group achieved a net new business value of 71 million dollars (including retentions). This was driven by ten new clients worth $74.5 million, including Aldi Süd, Froneri, Mars, and Barilla.

Dentsu ranked second, with the group scoring points thanks to BMW. Among the Big 6 holding groups, Dentsu achieved the highest retention rate at 53 percent. Omnicom Media secured third place with $20.9 million in billings from seven new client wins, but posted losses of $15.6 million.

Starcom Leads at the Agency Level

At the agency level, Starcom led the pack among the 23 agencies surveyed. Starcom benefited from winning accounts such as Emmi, Die Mobiliar, and Aldi Süd. Webrepublic took second place, primarily due to winning the Emmi account. Zenith secured third place thanks to the Froneri and Barilla accounts. Mediatonic took fourth place after winning the Die Mobiliar account and is the second independent agency in the top 5.

It is noteworthy that approximately nine percent of the total media budget audited in Switzerland in 2025 was won by custom-tailored standalone units outside the traditional agency networks. Leading this trend are Omnicom Media ($8 million), Publicis Media ($7.5 million), and WPP Media ($5.8 million).

Independent agencies with strong performance

In 2025, Comvergence analyzed 65 media budget shifts and renewals in Switzerland with a total volume of $237 million—up from $193 million in 2024. 30 advertisers opted for an independent agency or an agency outside the Big 6 groups.

Among the eleven Swiss independent agencies evaluated, the three most successful in terms of net new business were Webrepublic (+$31 million), Mediatonic (+$17.1 million), and TWMedia (+$8.9 million).

The data on budget changes comes from industry publications and company websites and has been validated by all of the agencies surveyed. In total, more than 1,000 agencies from 49 countries work with Comvergence.
