Judenstempel: Lehrmittelverlag Zürich must revise teaching materials
An elementary school teaching aid on the Holocaust just published in Switzerland needs to be revised because of an inaccuracy.

How the NZZ on Sunday reports, the material published by Lehrmittelverlag Zürich states incorrectly in two places that Switzerland proposed to Germany in 1938 the introduction of the Jewish stamp on the travel documents of Jewish women, men and children. It is true that Switzerland wanted to prevent the entry of refugees from Germany and Austria, but the stamp proposal came from the German side.
Author Christian Mathis said the passage was unfortunate and not entirely accurate. However, he said, it has been proven that the pressure came from Switzerland to mark the passports "German non-Aryans." The publisher intends to replace the wording in question in every folder, both for the copies in stock and for those already delivered. (SDA)
