VKK: Code for professional crisis communication adopted

The 2nd General Assembly of the Swiss Association for Crisis Communication (VKK) adopted a code of conduct for crisis communication on Tuesday.

Crises, especially communication crises, are not only becoming more frequent, but also more severe. The professional field of crisis communication is more topical than ever. With the Code, the Swiss Association for Crisis Communication wants to contribute to the professionalization of the increasingly important professional field of crisis communication, as stated in a press release on Thursday. At the 2nd General Assembly in Zurich on Tuesday, VKK members therefore committed to quality standards that they intend to apply in their work. The Code of Conduct for Crisis Communication regulates the objectives and professional benchmarks of communication work.

In addition, a CAS course in crisis communication was initiated together with the Media Training Center (Maz) in Lucerne, which will start for the first time in autumn 2011. And the VKK homepage was given a new look in 2010, so that it is increasingly available as a useful service platform for members.

The Swiss Association for Crisis Communication was founded in 2009 and brings together experts from the fields of communications consulting, corporate communications, research and teaching as well as specialists from interdisciplinary areas of crisis management. The association currently has 51 members.
