Spina's Civil Voices: TNT for BFA

Spinas Civil Voices has created a viral, highly impactful campaign for BFA/Fastenopfer against food speculation.

Commodity exchanges originally served as price hedges for farmers and food traders. But as a result of the global financial crisis, banks and other large investors looked for new "safe values" for their business. They found such values in foodstuffs such as corn and rice, among others. When rumors of crop failures appeared on the stock markets, financial jugglers began betting billions on rising prices, causing food prices to skyrocket. The main victims are once again the poorest people in the world, who have to spend up to 80 percent of their income on food. Particularly piquant is the fact that around one third of the global food trade is transacted via the commodity hub of Switzerland.

With an impressive, highly explosive viral that is going viral these days, BFA/Fastenopfer wants to shake things up and put pressure on the banks - especially Credit Suisse, which is one of the dominant players on the commodity exchanges. On the campaign website, which was also designed by Spina's Civil Voices Stop-speculation.ch you can join the demand and support the initiative.
